What a brutal game to play through. You have ONE life. Die and it's game over and you restart from the very beginning, and you die EASILY (at least I do).
I longplayed this game 13 years ago, it was time to redo that longplay with better quality. I played much better back then, guess I had more patience to redo the parts (using savestates) when things didn't go too well.
There's three versions of the game. The main difference between them is one uses a dongle that you plug into the back of the Amiga to bypass the security check (copy protection), the other two uses code protection from the manual (AFAIK). I wanted to go with the code one, but couldn't find the codes anywhere I looked. I of course first started with the main Amiga places, like Hall of Light and Lemon Amiga. They didn't have them for some reason, and I couldn't find them on Google either. So tried to go with the dongle version as I found instructions on how to hack it using the WinUAE's debugger tool, but man, sooo many steps and things to type. I COULD of course use a cracked version of the game, but as always, I avoid them if possible as you can never know what you get with a cracked version. They could have changed ../../images/text to add their own messages (I want clean/untouched versions), removed content to make room for their own crap (cracktros and stuff), and not even tested the whole game properly and cause the game to not be beatable because of something broken. Anyway, after some more extensive Googling, I found ONE site that had the codes.
I played the "Movie adventure" mode. The manual says "The movie section of the game runs like an adventure. Like all adventures it has many twists and turns, so it is difficult to give an accurate flow of how the game will run. So we are not attempting to do so! Media break is used to provide an update of the events so far and creates the back drop to the game.", which would explain why I can still continue to the next part on the first driving level by just entering the building before I take out the truck. Same with the second part when looking for the hostage - waiting long enough and the bad guy escapes and it continues to the next part. So guess the things they say might be different depending on what you do? Couldn't be bothered to check. What I did check tho as I was curious is on the next paragraph.
The "Arcade action" mode has these modes:
F1 TERRORISTS HIJACK OCP TOWER
F2 CRAZED PUNKS - terrorise neighborhood
F3 POLICE STRIKE - stolen vehicles epidemic
F4 ROBOCOP GYROPACK TRIALS
F5 ANDROID v CYBORG DUEL
Only F1 differs a bit from what's seen in the longplay. Just a normal walking-around shooting stuff in corridors, but with white/blue-ish walls. There are some pots of plants at the entrance, the OCP logo on the floor, and the room you need to get to has windows. Couldn't be bothered to record it as it's nothing special.
Pressing the F-keys switches between different camera angles, which I show here and there briefly so they are at least included.
If you fail to shoot the ninja(s) the first time you take out your gun, you can't bring out your gun again. Maybe a bug or something.
I drive like a drunk the first two driving levels. I used mouse which makes it really hard. Later switch to joystick.
It's weird how they sometimes end the music after crashing into something (6:42 as an example). It doesn't have to be one of the trucks you are after, could be civilian cars, also just buildings I think. But it starts playing again after a while.
At 13:40 you can't shot them all before you reach 51%. It's at 51% the game puts you back in the church. I was curious what would happen if I had infinite efficiency, so I memory hacked it to find out. Turns out you can't continue after shooting everything. The trigger to continue is reaching 51%. You could press ESC, which normally makes it game over, but in this case on this scene, even if they are all dead or not, it puts you back on the driving level at 16:19 with the same objectives. Recorded it (not the pressing ESC part): • RoboCop 3 test/experim...

I'll never forget that epic music and driving aimlessly for hours not having a clue what to do.
Not just me then 😂
haha same here! Was about to write that same comment. What dystopic memories!
Same here 😂
u wrote this for me allso 😅
Glad it wasn’t just me
Its actually quite cool, that you can drive around in this game. We definitely need a new, modern Robocop game. That visually captures the dystopian rundown Cities in the movies.
On the other hand... You gotta love the charm and the broadness of the game. At the time, what this game was doing was insane. Amiga 500 was in many ways a rather limited device, but holy crap what they did here. It doesn't even feel as boxy as it actually is.
It's on its way.
What about a Robocop mod in the Cyberpunk engine? :D
Launched yesterday.

This game is freaking awsome! I can't believe I didn't even have a chance to play it. Looing at this now, I think it was way ahead in compare to other games - not only on Amiga. I have never seen a vertical 3D graphics used in so creative way!
There was a motorcycle game that was mouse controlled called No Second Prize I had the demo on a coverdisk and the 3D was mind blowing
I don't know how it feels on the Amiga, but the PC version played very well. In a time when Quake was yet to be created, it was one of the very few "full 3D" FPS.
It was pretty darn smooth on the A500. Too hard for me when I was a kid, but still good.
5:25 Tesla Cybertrucks spotted
Say what you want but that game had effort put into it, unlike the first two games
Such a bastardlike gameplay in this game. I remember how a being child i tried to play this... Such a bad memories. Thanks for nostalgia
"Let's take our flight sim engine and use it to make an FPS. What could possibly go wrong?"
Except they made a good-liking, technically impressive and controllable FPS, on an Amiga 500.
Your point is what, exactly?
@@primalconvoy It plays like ass though. Ass that is having trouble passing a brick.
It was very experimental game. It wasn't bad but it was just too early for this. You couldn't make the levels in the game look any interesting and there were not many objects in the game. It felt very empty. It's better to make great 2D game than average 3D one. They could make it into T2 - Arcade Game style rail shooter with 2D graphics. I respect the ambitious approach though.
I really loved this game
This game was released around 2 years before the movie ever came out. For some reason , the movie was shelved but the game did not wait for the movie. I can also see that when i played R3 , i had an earlier version because this has the Actor Rip Torn in the role as the CEO of OCP. Mine had the old man from the earlier films. I haven't seen this game in 30 years.
Orion let the movie sit on the shelf for about a year after it was done. They were going bankrupt at the time and I'm sure they knew what stinker the movie was.
Interesting that yours had the Old Man, the actor who didn't agree to return (although they were trying).
@@sean8102yep they knew it was a roboturd
In case anyone isn't aware the amiga 500 cpu was a MC68000 @ 7MHz
All the cars were driving on the left hand side of the road, in Detroit! You can tell a British company made this game...
5:24 - they were all over the road!
This game used to crash my Amiga more often than not. I always figured it was pushing the technology too hard and always just rebooted and tried again haha. This blew my mind when I first played it
this game used the same gun sound effect as the 'SHOOT' command in AMOS Basic
WELL MADE TOP AMIGA GAME BIG BOX 10 OUR OF 10.
Earlier 90's this game was an event. Besides, it was a surprise, all Robocop games on consoles and computers were pretty craps.
I haven’t seen this game in years. I remember never getting past the sewers, always killed by a hand grenade. Have you played Narco police for the ZX Spectrum ? That was another great game.
I've played it on Amiga.
Ooo these gfx bring back memories. Any chance of some No Second Prize, Epic and/or Hunter?
I'm always amazed when I see early 3D in Amiga 500 games. Do you think it would be possible to make a demake of the first Alone in the Dark that could run on a stock Amiga 500 with no special hardware required? (only a 1MB memory expansion)
I remember the dongle
Yep - and it got cracked a few days afterwards. I remember Amiga Format covering that.
This is the pandemic level and the place is on lockdown right? JK. Thanks for uploading the early years.
that music 🎶was changing everything even with that graphics 😬
btw can see grenage only 2 frames 😏
I had it on Atari St
Cool!!!!!!
Loved this game. Couldn't work out if a glitch or me but in church I couldn't get out. Would walk around shouldn't people n said rebels escaped. Weird.
This game is very short. I never got past the third level.
Great game
Spectacularly bad movie.
So, if you shoot a hole in a ninja, smoke comes out... You learn something new everyday.
Iirc the ninja was an android in the movie. They tried to get all the blood out for the 3rd one.
Those driving missions where so awful ...
Actually, they were great.
Hi

ого!а чё такая графика хорошая???класс
👍
Its 3rd movie was 1988 times worse but this game is 1989K times worse
I'm sure this is an Atari ST port - absolutely no way is there anything like, for example, 32 colours on the screen. I'm absolutely sure the driving scenes aren't using the copper to create the Sky gradients, what a fucking disgrace.
No, it's the Amiga version.
@@primalconvoy yes, its Amiga but its not using the Amigas capabilities.
@@bsdetector6908 - They're definitely using 32 colour bitmap graphics in the cutscenes. Look up the ST version, then compare and contrast. I'd also be very surprised if they weren't using the copper for the gradient fills - the 3D seems to be noticeably faster and smoother than the ST version in spite of the fact that the ST is technically clocked slightly faster.
You need to chill the fuck out mate! Woah! No body died in r got pregnant at least
