There will never be a 100 fave xbox one or ps4 list. I miss my old c64 and am500. All those games were great, had great graphics and cool music. Thnx for posting some good old memories!
My childhood relived! Im 12 years old again. for me, Monkey Island 1+2, Body Blows, Shadow of the Beast and Populous 2. And so much more... Rainbow Islands, New Zealand Story, Shadow of the Beast, Lemmings... North and South..... :) :) :) Many thanks for the upload. :) seriously...
#72 Ah Street Rod, one of my favorite games. Admittedly I only first played it around 2000-2001 but I loved it. I was playing it on PC at the time. When I learned it was on Amiga and saw those screenshots I was amazed how much better it looked. I immediately fired up an Amiga emulator to play it!
This is probably my favorite Amiga game list, at least partly because it's the one I agree with the most. Also, I like that your clips aren't long and drawn out: nothing worst than watching five minutes from a game that you think sucks. Thanks for your efforts here.
I love this list!!! You've included so many games I thought were amazing that I haven't seen on other lists. Panza Kickboxing was incredible. I till remember the fact that you could assign the moves to joystick direction. I'd never seen that before. Still one of the most pleasurable martial arts games along with IK+ I have ever played.
The Hostages theme music will forever be etched in my mind. I catch myself regularly humming the theme even though I haven't played it in 30 years. So memorable.
Awesome graphics. I was born in 1980 and the first time I played a game was in 1988. And still playing games to this day. Trying my absolute hardest to get as much retro gear as possible. Yesterday I got a PSP with Wipeout Pure and Medal of Honor Heroes. Last week I got a PS2 with GTA: San Andreas, Max Payne, and Socom: US Navy Seals. GTA and Max Payne didn't work so I gave them back, but I have to say that I'm loving Socom. You can do so much. You can crouch, lean, command two teams, change the firing modes on your main weapon. It's properly tactical. They don't make shooters like that any more. Soon I'll have most of the retro consoles from the last 2 decades and hopefully this system too. And doesn't else hear the theme music for Assault on Precint 13 in the game Xenon 2 Megablast? Game number is 73.
I was more into demos than games on the Amiga; Your 40th is on my 1st. I loved the C64 for games. The Amiga games that really stood out to me was point and click ones.
Excellent vid. I love having these things on in the corner while I'm working. Also appreciated the fact that you stated that you know there are classics missing, but that these are games you actually played :)
My fave gaming/computer system off all time. So many classic and innovative games came out on the Amiga. Way ahead of it's time in my opinion. Great vid by the way ;-)
Keep in mind: 16bit system, first home computer that supported multitasking desktop, first one that offered CD-Rom, legendary Motorola 68000 chip, AmigaOS has been inspiration to Linux Kernel and so on and so on... Waaaaay ahead of its time, waaaaay ahead...
My favourite Amiga games where: GODS, Chaos Engine, Toki, Rainbow Island, Pang, New Zealand Story, Kick Off 2, Desert Strike, Jungle Strike, F29 Retaliator, Silent Service 2, Superfrog, PGA Tour Golf, the entire Alien Breed collection, the Dizzy games, R-Type, Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 2, Speedball 2, Future Basketball, Final Fight... can't think of anymore!
wow I missed out on some great games back then. I had about 100 games total; watching yours reminded me of great memories playing Street Rod 2, Pang, Type-R, Loopz, Lemmings, Ishido, Crazy Cars 3 and Super Cars 2. My absolute favorites were Disc and Silkworm 4, for Silkworm I had the first 80% or so of the game memorized, a playthrough took like an hour before I got to the part where it was hard/new. Another World looked amazing for what we had at the time, wow.
Great games ! I would add Hired guns, Indy heat, Superfrog, Bubble Bobble, Project X, Lotus 3, Yo Joe!, Sensible world of soccer, Dune II, Eye of The Beholder 1 + 2, Settlers, The manager, Premiere, Mortal Kombat 1 + 2, Street Fighter 2, Final fight, Final blow, TV sports: Basketball, Syndicate, Secret of the Monkey island, Maupiti island, Murder, Crime time, Cruise for a corpse, Magic pockets, Indiana Jones and the Last crusade, Operation Stealth, Formula 1 Grand Prix, Utopia and Agony to the list.
Earl Weaver Baseball, Three Stooges, M1 Tank Platoon, Faery Tale Adventure, North & South, TV Sports Baseball and TV Basketball, It Came from the Desert among others would've been on my list. Basically I stuck with Cinemaware, EA, and Microprose games as my favorites with my Amiga 500.
Thanks for the memories :) The Amiga had an amazing soundchip. One of my favorites was BC Kid, or PC Kid as it's known in Japan, or Bonk as it's known in the west lol. Great list :)
Thanks for this video. Here in México I don't remember heard about Amiga. Back in the day I just knew some info because my grandma bought me some foreigner magazines.
An awesome trip down memory lane, that said I do still play my AMIGA, nice to see Goal! placed so high, and there are a few titles here that I definitely need to check out as we have similar taste in games.
9ElevenGamer Good to hear! I know the list might seem controversial, but I can definetely recommend the games on the list. I'm sure I'll have to make a "Top ten games I forgot" someday.
shit you had the exact taste in games as me ! lol but id have to add populous megalomania,Powermonger, AlienBreed ,Another World , panza kickboxing , supercars 2 ...... syndicate what a fucking game that was amazing!
Thank you. There are so many great games, so It s not easy to chose. I remember Agony, Apydia, Killing Game show, Nitro, Jim.Power, project x, Leander, Toki, Vrooom, Fire and Forger 2, Yo Joe, Batman, Ninja Warriors, Dragon Ninja, Overlander, Jaguar xj 220, Battle Squadron 2, silkworm, Swiv,.F29.retaliator, océan Beach Volley, sensible soccer, kick off 2, R-Type, Switchblade, Alien Breed, Driving Force, Unreal (so beautyful).. And so on... Amiga was an awesome computer
First off all why on earth is *Panza Kick boxing* so low , that game was definitely a top 20 game , my favourites were - *Populous 1-2(my fav) , Megalomania , Power Monger , Another World , Super Cars 2 , Syndicate , Celtic Legends , Moonstone! , Betrayal , Castles , Alien Breed! , Chuck Rock , Rainbow 6, Bubble Bobble (loved that game) , R-Type , Lemmings, Prince of persia , Indiana Jones , Narc , Turrican 1&2* I think I could go on... Amiga in my opinion was the most fun I've ever had for video games was just amazing and unique ! and made my childhood that extra special!
hmm not all are good most of the amiga games have only music Or Fx not both at the same time and most Games have crappy horrible controls Omg! nightmares !
You're welcome :) The Amiga sure was impressive back in the day. If you look at the competition when it was popular, you might even say it was the best. If you feel like trying it out there's a great emulator called WinUAE, or simply buy one. Still quite cheap.
+Erik Sundstrom yeah I know still have an amiga 500 hooked up till today used it yesterday but I mean 1 meg ram still was not enough for most programmers to use music and fx at the same time. There are so many bad arcade conversions on the amiga only lazy ports of the atari st games ported over by the crappy US Gold. The Amiga can do so much better if used wisely and correctly in assembler language look at the turrican games as example!
Bard's Tale II - Destiny Knight, Fate - Gates of Dawn, Ambermoon, Elite, Popolous, Syndicate, Bionic Commando, Star Glider 1 + 2, Take Them Out, Mission Impossible, Kick Off 2, Sensible World of Soccer, Turrican II, Superstar Ice Hockey, Chambers of Shaolin, F16-Falcon, Gunship, X-Out, etc.... so many good Amiga games (or adaptiations from C64).
We all do. But now we have a choice of buying overpriced ancient hardware that will most likely not last long, or emulate it on pc's. Thats not what i want, i want a brand new amiga that does not have a $1000 pricetag, and runs amiga500 games without any bs.
Ah so many games of this list I remember having played on the Amiga, or conversions on consoles (often inferior of course). It is tempting to get an Amiga again but these days there are alternative ways of playing Amiga games, and so many new games as well.
TheDutchGhost There's no real reason besides nostalgia to get the actual Amiga 500. (I have two and much rather play it emulated than the crappy mouse and my cheap plastic joysticks.)
Awesome list! You just reminded me about Aquatic Games, Dogs of War, Hostages, James Pond 1 (thought I only played 2), Panza Kickboxing, Persian Gulf Inferno and Wings of Fury.
Shame Midnight Resistance, Humans, Smash T.V, The Lost Vikings & Soccer kid wasn't on the list. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I've still got my Amiga 500 & 1200 in the loft.
Nick Hough Yeah I know. Those were all games I wish I had access to. I never knew of midnight resistance except that it's supposed to be an awesome late c64 game.
Great list but my favourite games of all time ever on any console are the secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2. I will play them for the rest of my life I love them so much.
@Dan Threepwood i played them both to death on the pc back in the day, my olivetti 8086 but it did have a nice VGA monitor. was the amiga version much different?
It's the sounds that trigger the memory the most like when the marble smashes , audio sfx in God's, games that I don't really remember bit recognise the FAX, I remember visuals like James pond and lotus turbo challenge
If you happen to not know the game, this seems confusing. It has multiple modes, including two ski modes, that half-pipe snowboarding, tube sliding and yeeting snow balls at others :)
Yeez, had all forgotten about those self combusting indjuns 😄 One of the best lists I’ve seen; so many forgotten awesome games, yet there were so many others as well. But also great looking games I had never heard of.
Thank you! There are so many entries i played but forgot. That Arabian Nights let me pondering because it's a technical very good title i didn't know. At the time we were all in the scene and looked at hundreds of the games.. great collection and i see there are so many more, everybody had his experiences, but many matches to my favorites!
Wow. I had forgotten about so many of these games. Great list that is not too different from what I used to play around 1990. Thanks a lot for putting it together 👌
It's a really great video because it shows that on the Amiga catalogue, as in every gaming catalogue, there was also a lot of cheap exploit and a lot of weirdness. I didn't know many of these and Persian Gulf Inferno looks like proper stuff from nightmares
Also it shows the Amiga as that middle stop between the 8 bit era design and the more polished design that came in the 90s (Another World, Prince of Persia)
mega lo mania gave me goosebumps i loved that game (altho i played it on the NES). lemmings and sim city were fantastic. my fav games were probably railroad tycoon and populus 2 on the amiga tho.
Sometimes think nintendo 8bit get all the glory/nostalgia but amiga 500 had some amazing games. Personally might have gone with speedball 2 as nr1 myself the replayability of that game... But hard to argue against such titles as cannon fodder(war never been so much fun), sim city and another world. Not played as many games as you have but its a good list. Cant remember if i sold my amiga im kinda tempted to replay those oldies
Vilken toppenlista!
Xenon 2 and Turrican! Holy shit I am glad I found your video. I wish I could find the other game I'm looking for. You're going through some light maze levels with goldish walls and a purple back ground. One of the enemies is sort of jittery because it is constantly moving at you and bounces off walls.
Superfrog, Rick Dangerous 2, Lionheart, Agony, Soccer Kid, YoJoe!, PP Hammer, Magic Pockets, Chuck Rock 2, Bubba 'n'Sticks, Alfred Chicken, Qwak, Toki, Mega Lo Mania..
Panda kickboxing was my favorite of this list and Desert Storm was a fun game for all my brothers and sis. Bubba &Stix : I can only remember the prison level but loved it. Also nice: Gunship2000/Wing Commander were really nice. Always a struggle to chose Strike Commander (PC) or playing these 2. Brutal Football, Maybe aged terrible since the last time I played it :P Wizkid, damn cats always too slow. James Pond 2, just silly fun Lost Vikings, loved the switching between chars. Shadow of the Beast 3, looked great but a really short game Guilty Pleasure: Harley Davidson game. I loved the movie "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man" when I was a kid. Fighting games were great for the amiga. We had the Amiga2000, so we didn't have to switch disks that often. And Streetfighter 2 was by far the most fun. I think everyone in our neighborhood would agree :D A lot of great adventure/games, which were really difficult. (personal favorite Indiana Jones ) Owned a lot of games and played a lot as well. My parents still own our C64 with a lot of games !! Great memories ! Reading a few comments about Football (or Soccer), do some of you remember Soccer Kid? I liked it when i was a kid.
+Arnold_1984 I never got hooked on fighting games for the A500. Me and my friends played Elfmania to death though. One button just isn't enough. The C64 is a great system as well. I used to struggle with Ghouls n Ghosts, but I was mainly in it for the awesome Tim Follin soundtrack.
Twin Worlds is one of the single greatest hidden Amiga gems.. that game is incredible for it's time. Also missing a ton of might and magic and other rpgs and others.. there are way more than 100 anyways. lol. Amiga rules!!
This helped me remember some games to add to the A500 mini in 2022. Thank you!
WOW!!! Awesome collection, such memories. i loved Shadow Of The Beast 1 & 2 .... Lost Patrol ,,,, Speedball 2 ... sooo many
There will never be a 100 fave xbox one or ps4 list. I miss my old c64 and am500. All those games were great, had great graphics and cool music. Thnx for posting some good old memories!
Lost Patrol - One of best soundtracks from Amiga games!
My childhood.. Some games sucked but others were priceless.. I used to have a subscription to Amiga World magazine I believe it was called..
Played most of those games! Thanks for this travel back to my past.
New Zealand Story was really a unique game, with alot of unique features. Really well made.
I had 90% of this... thx to X-Copy
Good old X-Copy
X-copy ftw!
And Marauder II, and fast lightning...
My childhood relived! Im 12 years old again.
for me, Monkey Island 1+2, Body Blows, Shadow of the Beast and Populous 2. And so much more... Rainbow Islands, New Zealand Story, Shadow of the Beast, Lemmings... North and South..... :) :) :)
Many thanks for the upload. :) seriously...

Thanks for taking the time for making the collection.
Appreciated!
i miss on this list north and south a big game, thanks for the video!!
It was the sound effects and music that made me nostalgic
Lost patrol brings back alot of memories, especially when the platoon puts a handgrenade in your backpack.
Man that game was hard as hell.
Yes definitely me and my brothers favorite martial arts game..and the assigning was brilliant, a lot of different moves
Blood Monney i miss an also Silkworm.
thank you for giving back my childhood memories again.
The Hostages theme music will forever be etched in my mind. I catch myself regularly humming the theme even though I haven't played it in 30 years. So memorable.

Ow WOW! I typed that first comment when it had only just started. Just got over half way and I've seen Rock'n'Roll. Man that game was AWESOME :)
Zool, apidya, soccer kid and jaguar xj220 were the only other ones i was waiting for...great list :)
My fave gaming/computer system off all time. So many classic and innovative games came out on the Amiga. Way ahead of it's time in my opinion. Great vid by the way ;-)

I absolutely agree in having Another World as first place!!!
Hostages. I remember playing the NES version but it was called Rescue embassy mission. Loved that game. Never knew there was a version on Amiga.
I call for a remake of Supercars 2. Loved that game so much
wow I missed out on some great games back then. and do you know heimdahl, it came from the desert, knights of the sky, california games 1 & 2, etc brings back a lot of nostalgia
I remember when I played a lot of these games when I was really young, especially Arabian nights thanks for posting awesome video!
Where is the "Super Frog" ????
Earl Weaver Baseball, Three Stooges, M1 Tank Platoon, Faery Tale Adventure, North & South, TV Sports Baseball and TV Basketball, It Came from the Desert among others would've been on my list. Basically I stuck with Cinemaware, EA, and Microprose games as my favorites with my Amiga 500.

You're welcome. Yes commodore had problems selling anywhere outside of Europe, and that's a true shame.
So many Amiga games had such catchy music, too. Still sounds great today.
so good relisten the sound of shadow of the beast 30 years later...
Hostages - loved that game!!
Thanks for using the Amiga game music instead of some horrible techno song that most others use for the soundtrack.
Great fun! Some games I remember. Thanks for taking the time to make this list.
North and South?
Love how Operation Thunderbolt say's "Gather Intelligence Information" then you proceed to just blow the shit out of everyone and everything!
An era of gaming I didn't know existed.

Dune 2, Eye of the Beholder 2, Syndicate, Zak McCracken, Flashback, Moonstone, Chaos Engine, Pinball Dreams. I think they're my favorites.

Some great Amiga gaming memories there. The Secret of Monkey Island (1990) was a classic. The jousting parts in particular were really funny.
SWIV was the shizzle back in the day

God Bless
Can't you read the title?!
It says "MY" top 100 Amiga games.
He also says some of the big names are missing because he never owned or played them.

#97 lost patrol. I played this so much when I was a kid. Didn’t understand it much tho. I did learn a thing or two about war when I got older.

Also it shows the Amiga as that middle stop between the 8 bit era design and the more polished design that came in the 90s (Another World, Prince of Persia)
Jesus Christ Sierra were lazy porting Larry or what!
"Nuclear War", what the hell?
They need to make a new up to date Panza Kick Boxing!!
Walker was unreal. You used the mouse to control the two main guns and the joystick to go left and right. Man so much destructive fun
True, it was somehow very immersive and the pace and action was just right with a cool air. And the sounds!
I was stunned by the graphics when j first saw it. And the digitised speech blew me away. Couldn't get how so much was on one game.
mega lo mania gave me goosebumps i loved that game (altho i played it on the NES). lemmings and sim city were fantastic. my fav games were probably railroad tycoon and populus 2 on the amiga tho.
Good old Times, I never forget.
6:53 The way the characters are moving reminds me a lot about the game Yie Ar Kung Fu on the C=64
So many great games, so many not one this top though ! Secret of Monkey Island I and II are definitely missing :)
Good list! Brings back many memories....... Thanks!
golden axe port is really nice looking
Adams family, Turrican 2, Sensible soccer, Gloom
You can get Another World (and Flashback) for about NZ$2 on Steam.
Also good to see Sensible Software had 2 games in your top 5 :)
Panda kickboxing was my favorite of this list and Desert Storm was a fun game for all my brothers and sis.
Bubba &Stix : I can only remember the prison level but loved it.
Also nice:
Gunship2000/Wing Commander were really nice. Always a struggle to chose Strike Commander (PC) or playing these 2.
Brutal Football, Maybe aged terrible since the last time I played it :P
Wizkid, damn cats always too slow.
James Pond 2, just silly fun
Lost Vikings, loved the switching between chars.
Shadow of the Beast 3, looked great but a really short game
Guilty Pleasure: Harley Davidson game. I loved the movie "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man" when I was a kid.
Fighting games were great for the amiga. We had the Amiga2000, so we didn't have to switch disks that often. And Streetfighter 2 was by far the most fun. I think everyone in our neighborhood would agree :D
A lot of great adventure/games, which were really difficult. (personal favorite Indiana Jones )
Owned a lot of games and played a lot as well. My parents still own our C64 with a lot of games !! Great memories !
Reading a few comments about Football (or Soccer), do some of you remember Soccer Kid? I liked it when i was a kid.

I never got hooked on fighting games for the A500.
Also missing a ton of might and magic and other rpgs and others.. there are way more than 100 anyways. lol. Amiga rules!!
thanx, finally a refreshing list with some game I do not know!
My tops games are Bubble Bobble, Faery Tale Adverture, Bubble Ghost, Space Harrier, and Plutos.
big thumbs up for Faery Tale, the most underrated and brilliant game on the Amiga.
Watching this video reminds me to be glad I own an Amiga. --- Game #2 should be @ #1.... Nice video!
My top amiga games:
1. Turrican 2
2. Super galaga/Turrican 1 and 3
3. Mega lo mania/ Dune 2
4. Ishar 2/3
5. Colonization/Utopia/The Settlers
you mean Deluxe Galaga?
