Anyway, thanks for the video Spectrum Pulse, and Happy New Year into 2022.
@@Jimshair46 Ahh, thanks for that. Considering he had so many albums ot go through, I thought whatever title he put up on the screen was the title of the album. Thanks for telling me what the actual title was.
I remember years ago I went to a Lucy Dacus show and she played Thumbs, but first asked politely for the audience to not record it, because she wanted to release it when she felt it was right. And then she played it and I almost started crying. Just GREAT
Reminds me of when I saw Emily Scott Robinson in February 2020 right before the pandemic, and she played a new song that she asked us not to record. It ended up being Cheap Seats from her newest album.
I'm not surprised Visiting Hours didn't become a hit. I knew it wouldn't, it was a promotional single and a funeral song which never really gets popular. It's still an incredible song by every means and I'm glad there's a critic out there who appreciates Ed Sheeran's music.
Well if it makes you feel any better it's.kme of my favorite songs on the album Kinda sucks they didn't play it on takeover here in the us as I would've love to have seen it live when I saw them in Atlanta But I'm beyond glad Mexico got it first in the end ^-^

For the billboard breakdown watchers, there were like 5-7 here that charted this year, and 2 are in the top 10. One is pretty easy to guess but the other was actually kind of surprising but it is a great song that should have been a hit and probably just needed a few more weeks to get to the year end.
14:01 "To think that if someone hadn't requested this song on Instagram, I would not have found out about Charli Adams and missed out on this magic." That was me. You're welcome!

I think the thing that gives Street Runner so much replay value to the point where I can listen to it on repeat without getting bored is the length of the song that the voicemail poem takes up. It’s why the fragmentary nature of the Rod Wave formula works so well on the song; since the hook is only used a couple times and the one verse appears early in the song, the poem gives you time to remember them and want to hear them again.
Great list as usual. Here’s my Top 10 favorites of the year: 1. ‘Welcome To The Internet’ - Bo Burnham 2. ‘Shy Away’ - twenty one pilots 3. ‘HOT WIND BLOWS’ - Tyler, The Creator ft. It never became a hit, but my favorite single from 2021 was Friend from the RWBY Soundtrack. It's a very emotional song about a girl who dreamed of having a friend in her life, then finding the friend that made her feel real.
A fair amount of this list doesn't click with me since I'm not a big fan of country or hip hop (especially trap), though I can appreciate the choices, but I got really excited when I saw Once More for the Ocean by Slothrust and Midnight by Creeper so high. Those songs are amazing. I wouldn't have been able to say this even three weeks ago, but song of the year has got to be Musician by Porter Robinson. I may post some of my other favorite songs later but I'm sure that's my favorite song.
my top two songs of the year are midnight by creeper and malign monologues by diablo swing orchestra. celebremos lo inevitable is definitely another DSO standout.
I don't know like any of the songs/artists on this list outside of the very popular ones but Tenant From Zero is making the kind of 80s music that needs to be mainstream again.

39:40 You made Voltorb sad Damn, I am genuinely shocked there's no JPEGMAFIA song on here considering you praised tf out of his album, but this is a very unique and interesting list that I respect a lot.
Fun stats fact. This is the first time an artist who made it onto Mark’s worst hits list did not make his Top 50 of the year… this is not a challenge for any of the artists though ;)
@@lol88133 I was debating if Bruno Mars counted since I refer to them as Silk Sonic, but for the other years: 2013: Miley Cyrus - ‘FU’ & ‘We Can’t Stop’ 2014: Jason Aldean - ‘Don’t Change Gone’ & ‘Got What I Got’ 2015: Snoop Dogg - ‘One Shot One Kill’ & ‘Wiggle’ 2016: Rihanna - ‘Desperado’ & ‘Birthday Cake’ 2017: Kesha - ‘Praying’ & ‘My First Kiss’ 2018: Post Malone - ‘Candy Paint’ & ‘I Fall Apart’ 2019: Chance The Rapper: ‘The Big Day’ & ‘Holy’ 2020: Machine Gun Kelly: ‘forget me too’ & ‘Bad Things’ 2021: Bruno Mars? (Silk Sonic): ‘Smokin Out The Window’ & ‘Lighters’
On the subject of Bounce Man: you are wrong. Despite only discovering them this past year, Bounce Man is my second favorite on Scaled and Icy, only defeated by The Outside (Say what you will, I love that song), and I totally agree that it is truly under appreciated.
Interesting list, kinda upset though it's not so diverse as it's really just a country/Indie Rock + friends list. Also, no Redecorate for any of the Tøp picks? Would highly recommend listening to other genres as there's so much great music to explore.
So who are Manchester Orchestra I keep hearing about them lol. It’s clearly not an orchestra. When I first saw it I thought it was like the london philharmonic orchestra but Manchester lmao
I am extremely baffled by how much this guy loves Scaled and Icy. I respect most of his opinions but I cannot understand why he thinks SAI and Blurryface are the best TOP albums.
Alrighty, time to do timepoints of the albums and songs that he's covered in this video, as well as his other video.

You're welcome guys. I did this out of my own time, took me a few hours to do this. And all without testing each timepoint out either. So, you're welcome. I do one as well for his top 50 albums for sure. Anyway, thanks for the video Spectrum Pulse, and Happy New Year into 2022.
Thanks for this
Thanks but number 12 is called "Perfect Words" not "Perfect Zero". This helped so much!
@@Jimshair46 Ahh, thanks for that. Considering he had so many albums ot go through, I thought whatever title he put up on the screen was the title of the album. Thanks for telling me what the actual title was.
@@Shvov-derzhalok Your welcome.
If Smokin’ Out The Window becomes a hit in 2022 then we all know it’s gonna be Mark’s number 1 best hit song!
Might even be best of the decade for him.
@@KingHiki Blinding Lights would put up a good fight though
Yeah, I thought it was even better than Leave The Door Open
Unless something COMPLETELY mindblowing will chart.
Unless Visiting Hours or Street Runner somehow becomes a smash hit
I'm not surprised Visiting Hours didn't become a hit. I knew it wouldn't, it was a promotional single and a funeral song which never really gets popular. It's still an incredible song by every means and I'm glad there's a critic out there who appreciates Ed Sheeran's music.
"A symbiotic loop, a binary star" I love Mark's way with words. Even when I don't agree with his takes, he's a brilliant critic.
Seeing Bounce Man on here floored me. I thought I was the only one who liked that song, even among people who were cool with Scaled and Icy.
Well if it makes you feel any better it's.kme of my favorite songs on the album
Kinda sucks they didn't play it on takeover here in the us as I would've love to have seen it live when I saw them in Atlanta
But I'm beyond glad Mexico got it first in the end ^-^
I was surprised by it too. It’s one of my personal favorites off SAI too
Here's my list! I have a lot of artist repeats, but I'm really happy with how it turned out and was surprised to see some of my picks appear on Mark's list too.

Same favourite song of the year
For the billboard breakdown watchers, there were like 5-7 here that charted this year, and 2 are in the top 10. One is pretty easy to guess but the other was actually kind of surprising but it is a great song that should have been a hit and probably just needed a few more weeks to get to the year end.
14:01 "To think that if someone hadn't requested this song on Instagram, I would not have found out about Charli Adams and missed out on this magic."

I've defended Bounce Man's honor since day one

It’s one of the most fun tracks I’ve heard in awhile, having one the most catchy instrumentals with the vocal chops from Kero Kero Bonito, and it all comes together to create the perfect mess known as “Musician” once you listen to this song you will be sucked in by the emotion from Porter along with the KKB vocal chops with the catchy hook.

//Why Desperate ApeWives Anthem is the worst song of the year for me:
Do I even need to explain?? One glance at the title already tells you you’re about to go to hell for listening to this shit
My favorite part of these is seeing where your best hit falls, and with it being that early..... great highs this year
I'm happy to see Saturday, Next Girl, 29 & Visiting Hours
I loved the Sammy Kershaw reference LOL
I'm surprised that I was able to recognize *one* of these songs! I didn't listen to a lot of modern music last year. 😅
I don't know like any of the songs/artists on this list outside of the very popular ones but Tenant From Zero is making the kind of 80s music that needs to be mainstream again.
Here Is My Top 50 Best Songs Of 2021 list:

@@AquilaSky21 If Vivanne just could have release it as a solo single I would be among My Top 50 list, especially since it was preformed by my favorite voice actress I love Cristina Vee
Oh my #4 and 5 back to back made me stand up and cheer
39:40 You made Voltorb sad
Damn, I am genuinely shocked there's no JPEGMAFIA song on here considering you praised tf out of his album, but this is a very unique and interesting list that I respect a lot.
Visiting Hours is my 3rd Best Song Of The Year! It's so heartbreaking but in the best of ways!
Fun stats fact. This is the first time an artist who made it onto Mark’s worst hits list did not make his Top 50 of the year… this is not a challenge for any of the artists though ;)
are you saying in general, or specifically for that year? Because Bruno Mars has made multiple worst lists of his.
@@lol88133 I was debating if Bruno Mars counted since I refer to them as Silk Sonic, but for the other years:
2013: Miley Cyrus - ‘FU’ & ‘We Can’t Stop’
2014: Jason Aldean - ‘Don’t Change Gone’ & ‘Got What I Got’
2015: Snoop Dogg - ‘One Shot One Kill’ & ‘Wiggle’
2016: Rihanna - ‘Desperado’ & ‘Birthday Cake’
2017: Kesha - ‘Praying’ & ‘My First Kiss’
2018: Post Malone - ‘Candy Paint’ & ‘I Fall Apart’
2019: Chance The Rapper: ‘The Big Day’ & ‘Holy’
2020: Machine Gun Kelly: ‘forget me too’ & ‘Bad Things’
2021: Bruno Mars? (Silk Sonic): ‘Smokin Out The Window’ & ‘Lighters’
@@colebelinsky881 oh you also counted dishonorable mentions, which aren't actually in the top 10.
@@lol88133 Indeed :)
On the subject of Bounce Man: you are wrong. Despite only discovering them this past year, Bounce Man is my second favorite on Scaled and Icy, only defeated by The Outside (Say what you will, I love that song), and I totally agree that it is truly under appreciated.
BOUNCE MAN IN THE TOP TEN AHHHHHHHH
wait, WAIT. WITH THE PREMIERE THIS VIDEO WAS 69 MINUTES LONG AND WITH THAT NUMBER ONE....THIS WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT
Mark, you're wrong no one besides you likes Bounce Man lol I love it 😁
Love the "Outlaw" shirt!
I’ll always trust your opinion over where the corporate money flows... except about Mike Shinoda’s supposed lacking talent as a musician.
My boy Einer bankz never has to work again after that ukele rift lol
No Dessa? 😭 'Rome' is so great
Interesting list, kinda upset though it's not so diverse as it's really just a country/Indie Rock + friends list. Also, no Redecorate for any of the Tøp picks?
Would highly recommend listening to other genres as there's so much great music to explore.
Gotta say, that picture of Carly Pearce looking like a fancam coming out of Lowe's is excellent lol
So who are Manchester Orchestra I keep hearing about them lol. It’s clearly not an orchestra. When I first saw it I thought it was like the london philharmonic orchestra but Manchester lmao
Atleast 30 of these songs sound very similar
I am extremely baffled by how much this guy loves Scaled and Icy. I respect most of his opinions but I cannot understand why he thinks SAI and Blurryface are the best TOP albums.
Xiu xiu copied xxx?
You didn't have to put Let's Go Brandon at every spot.
LGB would’ve been based if our in a leftist context, but we can’t have nice things
Bounce Man? I had to take my like away lmao
👍
This is your worst list like ever.
