I'd definitely want to see something about putting together a portfolio. I'm a student right now and it almost feels like I've made nothing that's presentable for applying anywhere. Currently I'm working on a 3D animation of a flour sack and it looks not too great timing wise so I'm not sure if you have anything that could help along those lines on the channel or not.

    2. Redshift
But in both of them specially in Arnold I always get confused when in comes to texturing and materials. Your this video helped Me a lot to understand Arnold lights but please can You make a video on Arnold materials where you can teach us how to create bumps and other material stuffs. It will be awesome and helpful for us to understand materials if you do it. Thanks ☺

Hey, thanks for the tutorial. I'm currently stuck on a lighting situation. I modeled an old antique telephone and have it place on a table with a wall behind. I created a box so it looks like it's in a room. but my issue is how would I light it to get a nice photoreal look off the phone while it's on the table and has a box as a room around. I added an hdri and a few lights inside. but feel I'm either doing it wrong or I don't need a room in the first place to get a nice warm photoreal look. What could you suggest? thanks.

    Hello!
I am still studying very basic so this is a far far far away level for me right now.

Hey, I'm a new subscriber :) I'd love to see a video about rendering a shot in Arnold as rendering and settings can seem like witchcraft. Also if you could interview anyone at Dreamworks who moved to the US from another country, with a focus on the moving and what that entails that would be GOLD! And an interview with Kevan Shorey would be awesome, he's a top dude! :D

I have a question. Is it ok to just do a play blast for a portfolio? I feel like the play blast doesn't have all of the correct timing that my Maya file shows in person. Is rendering better in terms of having the animation look as close as the one you have in the viewport? I am doing animations for a videogame. So rendering time won't be a huge issue
