Good luck this season. IMHO it’s going to come down to whether Jones has used his recovery time to understand the best way to run that offense & keep his eyes downfield. Hard to do without a really good O-line. But Jones throws to open receivers rather than throwing receivers open so he holds the ball at times. They get DJ some protection and don't let him die on the hill he can get them back to the playoffs as a wildcard. As bad as the gmen were last year they had games within reach with everything working against them.
ive always said that DJ works well when you give him time. the oline played decent the year when we went to the playoffs and daniel jones had a career year with that. every other year of his career he has been surrounded by an absolutely dogshit olines that have forced him to play a very timid, gun shy version of quarterback. especially last season when we had the 2nd worst oline of not just the league or giants history, but of all of nfl history. people do not recognize this enough nor do they see that when daniel has time, he preforms. thats really what i think makes or breaks this offense for next year. if we have a solid/decent oline i expect good things from daniel and from our run game but if our line is ass again then i expect to see more of the same.
Bills, Jets, Rams, and first Eagles game were within reach and should have been won. That's the difference between playoffs and no playoffs. Giants are not as bad as they may look. However, they need to score TDs rather than settle for FGs which cost them many of those games. Also, let's not forget that Tyrod Taylor flat out cost them 2 of those games: Bills, Rams

Giants are still headed in the right direction. We made the playoffs the first year. Just because we didn’t make it the 2nd year proved what changes needed to be made. They Let Barkley & X walk, cleaned house on Bobby, wink, wilks, still saved up money to sign some depth at the oline position and traded for burns while drafting nabers. A+++ offseason and I do truly believe we will be a better team ONLY IF DANIEL JONES LET US BE. It’s up to him. He got everything he needs to stay healthy and perform. Kayvon’s stats are somewhat misleading. He dominated against Washington and had a good game vs the Jets with what should have been the game ending sack, but was forgettable other games. If he takes a step up with Brian Burns across from him, the DL becomes a weapon
i think that can really be attributed to the system he played in. none of wink's guys really ever had a lot of sacks but he has managed to create very good defenses like he did with the ravens and also improving the giants defense. kayvon actually had the most sacks as a single player in winks scheme all time. i think with a new dc and the added help on the dline along with kayvon continuing to develop, that we will see a very good season out of him. 15+ sack year is definitely a possibility in my eyes.

That was with one of the worst offensive lines in history! We have added help on the offensive and defensive lines! We have added one of the best receiver in Nabors! We got worse at rb which is even worse for Jones. A qb who holds the ball way to long and takes sacks over incompletes. Jones can't get the ball downfield. Dk why fans continue to believe in him. The linemen the giants release play great for the next team. The secondary got worse as well.
I just don’t know why given their record last season they got such a hard schedule???? Harder than Philly…Why??? God give us a break so we can build. Will be challenging at least..hope we can play up to our opponents.
I've never seen a worse roster of wide receivers than what the 2023 NY football Giants roster had: Sterling Shepard, Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, Parris Campbell, Isaiah Hodgins and Jalin Hyatt. Malik Nabers HAS to be an upgrade over those 6 stiffs! I think Daniel Jones' injury was that he was sick to his stomach.
Hey G-Men fans You can at least agree this is the first time in Daniel Jones life he is throwing to a receiver with juice and prime time ability. So we will finally see what he can be coming from injury.
Listen, I was ok with them getting Jone's replacement in the draft. But I didn't want the to reach for a QB or trade away a ton of picks for one. And as he said in the first minute, Jones ain't going anywhere this year. So taking a top receiver if no QB you liked was there when they picked was a no brainer to me. Waller is gone. They are just waiting for June 1st. Why would we even want a dude that can't make up his mind if he wants to play or not? I am not sold on our line. We signed a bunch of second and third tier lineman instead of one or two good ones. That hasn't worked in the past for us.
Weve drafted more olinemen in the last decade than almost every other team. Im actually most excited for the new ollne coach, seems like a proven teacher.
@@ceezy585 I meant more free agent signings. Any draft pick, no matter how highly rated , is a crapshoot. And apparently when it comes to the line, we suck at craps.
If you don't have a good O-line, you don't have a good team, period. This team signed two average journeymen guards, they have a second year Center who wasn't good in his first year, and their Right-Tackle is an absolute turnstile. Hopefully the new O-line coach can bring these guys together and make a difference, but as of now I see four question marks on the line. That's too many. Even if the line comes together, It won't be immediately. I see another top ten pick for the Giants next year. I do like what they did this offseason though.
I agree with you, but I believe the new coach will be more beneficial than the players added. It’s no coincidence that a top 10 sure fire tackle and the top center of the draft seen as the safest pick have both been terrible. Not to mention a 3rd round pick that appeared to have promise. Tyre Phillips spent a few months on the Eagle’s practice squad and came back a significantly better player. Also Bricillo has coached an average o line at worst every year using players no one’s heard of. It’s hard to get my hopes up when we say it every year, but I’m trying to manifest it lol
LETS GO FUCKING GIANTS BIG BLUEEEEEEE 🔵🔴We HAVENT HAD A WR1 since ODELL regardless of the outcome this season this is a great step forward into the right direction every nfl team neads a wr1 to be successful.
Pass heavy Oline with the offseason additions. DEEP BALL OR BUST!! Nabers, Hyatt, Robinson, and Slayton, who DJ balled out year 1 with, thanks to Shurmer. Screw Waller, Belly and Johnson! Singletary can put up as good of numbers as Barkley's strike out heavy "HR" hitting.
They look much improved on paper, but Daniel Jones is still the big question for me. Just don't believe he's the guy! Would have he'd more confidence in the upcoming season had they found a way to sign Barkley. Devon Singletary? Not sure he is the answer either, I would have preferred Derrick Henry, old school Giants football.
Wandale can be amazing but yea hes constantly hurt, he likes to play big but hes small, he needs to understand he has to stay on the field and not be so aggresive.
It all starts with the front line and giving Jones time to make his reads and passes.: 'Come on QB!!! You had a whole 2/10's of a second!!!!....What a bum!!!
Good point.....still have hope for Jones to unscramble is head and body from some seasons from hell. As good as his counterparts were in comparison, I still think he has the higher upside if he doesn't have to continually run for his life...look how bad Manning looked once his vaunted line left... Nonetheless, Jones is one of us.... let's not be too harsh.
You forgot to mention new offense line coach last year was Bobby Johnson but this year it's Carmen bricillo

The 2022 Giants are a strong contender for a worse group, haha
Hey G-Men fans You can at least agree this is the first time in Daniel Jones life he is throwing to a receiver with juice and prime time ability. So we will finally see what he can be coming from injury.
Same thing everyone said last off-season. How did that turn out.
Slayton nabers wandale and Hyatt are gonna be the best core in the league in the coming years lol
What a video 👏👏👏
Great breakdown! Also hello Eluemunor and good riddance Bobby Johnson
Let’s go G MEN 😊
GO GIANTS
Giants defense doesnt get a lot of credit. The main issues with our defense is the offense not staying on the field nor scoring.
LETS GO FUCKING GIANTS BIG BLUEEEEEEE 🔵🔴We HAVENT HAD A WR1 since ODELL regardless of the outcome this season this is a great step forward into the right direction every nfl team neads a wr1 to be successful.
Jones is on this team until John Mara decides to move on. Mara can go 5-12 the next 3 seasons with Jones and he’s absolutely fine with it.
Lol they won’t be good. This is a reach. My favorite part of this video was you constantly saying “when healthy” 😂
All we need now is for Evan Neal to be an average to above average tackle
Still think need one more great wr. I believe Slayton deserves to be the man. He has proved himself esp with a weak o line.
Did you say "tooken him there"?
That was the best thing the Giants ever did was pick up Malik nabers
Wandale can be amazing but yea hes constantly hurt, he likes to play big but hes small, he needs to understand he has to stay on the field and not be so aggresive.
I bet 200$ on a Giants SuperBowl win, go big blue
All B.S. and I am a Giants fan! Not buying into the hype anymore!
Let's see how he does with a pro bowl corner draped on him!
How you gonna come to the Giants and half-ass play one season and then decide to retire.
Just freaking great!
@@d.l.8016 Did you miss post this in the wrong spot? LOL.
It all starts with the front line and giving Jones time to make his reads and passes.: 'Come on QB!!! You had a whole 2/10's of a second!!!!....What a bum!!!
@@martinsnook1061Why were tyrod and devito better when they played??
Good point.....still have hope for Jones to unscramble is head and body from some seasons from hell. As good as his counterparts were in comparison, I still think he has the higher upside if he doesn't have to continually run for his life...look how bad Manning looked once his vaunted line left... Nonetheless, Jones is one of us.... let's not be too harsh.
Daniel Jones can't even run by himself without falling over.
Having a great receiver doesn’t mean anything if your QB can’t get the ball in his hands
We still need another DT
Nabers or Alt would have been the only acceptable picks
