    • @mattthomas1442
      @mattthomas1442 2 месяца назад +3

      Yup, that's why stats like QBR and PFF grades underrate him cause they don't take into account pre snap reads(as far as I know atleast). Goff has said himself he beats you at the line of scrimmage, so all these "easy" throws that the advance metrics don't give him credit for wouldn't be so easy in a lesser QBs hands. He's the one that will make the pre snap audible depending on the defense, he's the one that identifies where the defenders are going to be and throw to that spot, he's the one that throws with anticipation instead of waiting. Doing those things leads to throwing to open receivers.

Rarely do the receivers have to reach for the ball, but they're all good receivers just in case, so solid as can be. Goff doesn't have the biggest arm. His spiral is not the tightest. He doesn't do no look or side arm. His zip ball is so-so. He is not athletic at all compared to most modern QBs. His throwing motion is alright at best for an NFL QB.

    It really is crazy to see the lions do so good, growing up as a bears fan it was always us two at the bottom of the division and our one solace in our many bad years has always been “at least we’re not Detroit!”. What the lions have pulled off is nothing short of a miracle and one of the biggest and most impressive turnarounds. For those of you not watching every play of every Lions game:
    The reason why teams have much higher stats is because they are playing from behind all game. The Lions barely need to try, and can seemingly turn it on at will.
    This is what the best offensive line in football looks like, and I don't know if it is particularly close. That, along with a playmaker (or two) at every skill position.
    Defense is a bit of a "bend don't break" style. You might get a field goal that takes 6 or 7 minutes off the clock, but the Leos are scoring a touchdown on the next drive.
    I am a lifelong fan from Barry's early years until now, and I have never seen a Lions team even close to this.
    Thanks for the love from all us Detroiters, dude.

    The thing I LOVE so much about this dominant Detroit Lions team is that THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH!!! even if they are blowing people out they are putting on a CLINIC on both sides of the ball, they have so many play makers on both sides of the ball, there is so much explosiveness and excitement on their roster they aren't like when the patriots were so dominating and they were just beating you with just short passes and short runs. And every week someone else is stepping into the spotlight, even watching their O-Lin work is so entertaining!!! This team, after a rough week 2 loss at home vs a good Tampa Bay team (now unfortunately without Evans and Godwin), has been the football definition of a well-oiled machine. The NFC Playoffs will run through Detroit and they will make it to the Superbowl and probably win it all, against the Chiefs in my opinion. Those two teams are on a mid-February collision course. Ben Johnson has completely befuddled defenses and it's been a while since a team has impressed me as much as this lions team. When this season is over, we could be talking about one of the all-time great teams American sports has ever seen, not just football.

Fun to watch that's for sure and its funny, even after all this domination, we had it so bad for long there is still that lingering thought in the back of our minds, is this for real? When will they implode. lol. After you think about it you realize they are for real but that doesn't take away from the fact the negative thoughts still creep in lol. What I see from the Lions team is the most complete team. Most other teams have one or two superstar players. The problem arises when those players get injured or having an off day. The team can't compete. Lions of course have some star players, but they can still win games without them

    It all seems like the cumulation of everything that went wrong for the Lions this past 50+ years, just being repaid in the lump sum. There is just no weak spot on this team right now. Well, Hutch injury apart that is. The offense, defense, coaching, kicking, special teams, culture, drafting, contracts, transfers, fans, pundits. Everything is simply excellent and clicking at the right time. I've been the Lions fan for about 20 years, and the Pistons die-hard for almost 40 now. Slowly but surely, the good times are coming back for Detroit 💪 sports.

    On the Pat Mcafee show, AQ Shipley (NFL O-line vet) has shown just how ridiculous Detroit's O-line is. They create such huge gaps that their RB's can just sprint right through for huge chunk plays. That's why Goff doesn't need to throw for 400 yds and 5 TD's to steamroll teams. The throws are made much easier because the defense is so worried about the unstoppable running game, all stemming from the #1 O-line in the league. Hope they go far, Detroit fans deserve some success. Hopefully my Giants can learn a thing or two from Detroit considering we're looking like the Lions did prior to Dan Cambell's takeover.

Don't want to be a whiner but I still feel they don't get the credit they deserve for what they've done and built. I've never seen a team buy-in like they have and worked as a team like they do and be humble as a team as they are. Cause Option Offense schemes are mainly used in Highschool and College.
    It is rarely used in the NFL because they require a lot of moving parts to be able to be ready on all plays to touch the ball. Most teams aren't used to defending this style of football on almost EVERY play as it is an exhausting style of offense to match by the defense.

    You need to do a video on the Lions/Jaguars game. 52-6 is a beat down, but those happen, but to go out and have Goff play 7 series in the game, all resulting in Touchdowns is like video game numbers. They outgained the Jags 641 - 172. Just ridiculous
    As a lifelong Lions fan, this is so sweet, I knew when we finally started to win we would have to be historically good because we’ve suffered for so long, I think that’s what we’re beginning to see!

    I have suffered decades of mediocrity with this team. I bought season tickets after watching Hard Knocks, since I truly believed we were at the precipice of something special. I attended both home playoff games with my family last year and it was as awesome as I thought it would be. My only sad thought about all of this is that my Mom, Aunts and Uncles who loved the Lions like I did never got to see them like this. Football is King in my house and I am glad my two sons have a team to route for after having nothing but pain and suffering for most of their lives. This is the year we end the Super Bowl drought. Go Lions!

    Best thing about Lions is not all about stats... It's about their hunger to win and workmanlike attitude !!! Humble, putting in the work, confidence and belief !!!
