Bill was a master with unique voicing’s and inversions sprinkled with dissonance.❤

Looking forward to the part two and three of this one! Thanks for taking this one on, Tony. Bill Evans had a brilliant mind as spoken by those who worked with him, almost "mathematical" only with art and music as a canvas. Waltz For Debbie is already one I play and just subtle differences in a certain chord can lead to a whole new place.

Than you so much : yes, Bill Evans was a great pianist but please do not forget the composer Michel Legrand who was a great musician, who was trained by Nadia Boulanger (together with Piazzola and Berstein...) in Paris. Do you know that this song comes from a 1967 musical (Les Demoiselles de Rochefort) starring Catherine Deneuve 'she was only 24) ?
And the music got an Oscar in 1969.... great Legrand !! Enough to inspire Bill Evans !

Legrand even had an acting role in Agnès Varda's "Cléo de 5 à 7" (as the eponymous heroine's musical director).

Legrand wrote some great tunes, and this one's definitely up there with one of his best. It was a perfect harmonic vehicle for Bill's playing, and you can see why it was a favourite of his.

An oversight on my part not to mention Michel Legrand
