Looking forward to the part two and three of this one! Thanks for taking this one on, Tony. Bill Evans had a brilliant mind as spoken by those who worked with him, almost "mathematical" only with art and music as a canvas. Waltz For Debbie is already one I play and just subtle differences in a certain chord can lead to a whole new place.
A breakdown of his solo is going up on Patreon as we speak. It will be public on RUclips soon. Anyone who reads this comment can view it right now. Link: ruclips.net/video/Lbm_xu7mGb8/видео.html
Than you so much : yes, Bill Evans was a great pianist but please do not forget the composer Michel Legrand who was a great musician, who was trained by Nadia Boulanger (together with Piazzola and Berstein...) in Paris. Do you know that this song comes from a 1967 musical (Les Demoiselles de Rochefort) starring Catherine Deneuve 'she was only 24) ? And the music got an Oscar in 1969.... great Legrand !! Enough to inspire Bill Evans !
Legrand wrote some great tunes, and this one's definitely up there with one of his best. It was a perfect harmonic vehicle for Bill's playing, and you can see why it was a favourite of his.
Bill was a master with unique voicing’s and inversions sprinkled with dissonance.❤
watching this before bed excited to wake up and spend my sunday figuring these out. thank you so much tony winston many blessings
Glad you like them!

Legrand even had an acting role in Agnès Varda's "Cléo de 5 à 7" (as the eponymous heroine's musical director).

An oversight on my part not to mention Michel Legrand
