FYI GigaCasting has nothing to do with the bodywork of the Tesla models. It forms the front and rear chassis/sub frames. Also Toyota has not committed to producing full electric vehicles in mass instead focusing on Hybrids.
Sure wish peoole that post videos like this did their homework better.

Too slow Toyota. China and Tesla are way ahead in battery and ev technology and research.

Toyota knows lithium is a dead end. They are letting the others waste billions. Tesla has no advantage whatsoever. Toyota playing it smart as EV sales have slowed massively, and others have lost billions trying. It’s a marathon and not a sprint. Consumers are not rushing to buy EVs as they are too costly right now.

I wish Toyota great success in EVs, however, to date they have produced little to nothing in that area and there are very few indicators that they are committed to improving their competitive position in EVs.

There's no incentive for smart business people to go there, unless they're financially adventurous and have high risk tolerance, like Musk. It's like.. ok, the green rhetoric is all fun and dandy, but now let's put on our serious caps LOL. Let's exit the cheshire cat party and enter reality. Japanese may talk like they're on board with all the american climate emergency BS, but on some level they're still secretly real. At least many of them.

      @@user-ls5zb2dx5j That’s sad.
When the VW Beetle was first reintroduced the entire front clip was one piece, so if you got a dent in the front fender and it needed to be replaced, the insurance company would total the entire car.
Finally VW saw the error and started building them the normal way.
Some insurance companies wouldn’t insure the ones that had a 1 piece front clip.
It amazes me how a highly educated person can be so STUPID in developing a car that would be totaled for a dent.
Someone needs to pull those engineers heads out of their Asses.

The main problem with solid state is - it is solid state - meaning made like a computer chip but much larger. So production in mass quantities will take a lot of very expensive machines and alot of ramp up time to produce a lot of these cells- So 2025 sounds like optimistic but possible.

So many automakers are totally missing what the majority of consumers truly want. Instead, not only do they make them more complicated, they want to make them to where they are more expensive to work on. I cant speak for everyone else but I don't want a vehicle that has any high tech garbage. I dont want a vehicle that spies on my conversations, i dont want a vehicle that has to have software updates or can be shut down by an outside source. I can drive and park my own damn vehicle, and i dont need it to do everything for me either. Subscription for heated seats was the funniest bs i have ever heard! Just stick to making affordable, dependable, ICE vehicles instead of letting the government force you into bankruptcy!

IF it ever does. So far that is not reality. Toyota knows it. They're a pragmatic company. that's how they've distinguished themselves from american companies from the start. Remember? When Ford was secretly building cars to ONLY last so long, so that soon they could sell more to the same people, the Japanese took the opposite approach - build them to last and win over your average, practical, citizens' hearts that way. I would say the present state of things is a glowing testimony to their monumental overall success and the superiority of their concept.

  • @litestuffllc7249

Yes BorSam; "If" the problem is Tesla isn't able to even make the downgraded 10% more dense cells efficiently. Imagine making 3 packs and throwning out two; you can't make a profit doing that; you would have to sell for a loss even if they trucks cost $100,000 each. If Tesla could make more cells they could make more than 12 trucks - so far they have not.
