If you have to choose, I'd say a two-in-one laptop with a stylus is going to be a better option, especially if you're a student. A tablet, even the most capable iPad, can't run a ton of software, suck at multitasking, and often have problems with external displays.
I just want to say that you do a really good job telling and demonstrating the important points of each choice. I am in the market for a compter like this, and you gave me the kind of info I needed, especially the pen interactions with the screen, which is extremely important to me.
Bought my wife the 15" HP Envy X360 last fall. Ryzen 5700u, 12 gb ram, 512 gb ssd, 400 nit touchscreen great build quality and an awesome value. The performance and Battery life are amazing. We leave it in Battery saver mode and you never have to worry about performance because the 5700u is so efficient and the Battery seems like it lasts forever. Best of all it has serviceable SSD, Ram, WiFi card, etc. Meaning I can make this thing last a decade. Going to buy a 13.3" version for my daughter once the ryzen 6000 series processors are offered.
I have heard that HP envy ×360 have hinge problem. They break very quickly even with careful usage. I really like this laptop but this issue is stopping me. Is it really happening with people?
Only the Asus Vivo flip offers screen mirroring for android mobiles, which is very very handy. This feature is almost never talked about in the reviews and I don't understand why. Hi. thanks for your useful videos. please ensure that you ALWAYS state what digitiser is being used. this is vital info and i'm dumfounded that manufacturers don't state this major tech while they go into detail about less important items. i've done much research and EMR is considered thee best tech for digitiser, but there are very few devices using it. Mainly high-end wacom tablets, and Samsung laptops (not in South Africa). AES and N-trig follow but seem to vary in quality from device to device. i love the asus brand but you very seldom mention it. it is also very confusing what the difference is between models that are very similar within the same brand eg. asus zenbook, vivobook, expertbook, rog flow x13; OR HP envy and sectre, OR lenovo flex and yoga. OR Dell inspiron and pavillion. i think some brands have even more ranges with seemingly identically spec'd laptops. can you clarify these differences? then there are devices like surface pro 8, asus rog flow Z13 asus and HP zbook x2. there are a few 2in1's that have a gpu as well. this is very useful but what does it mean for battery life...? some 2in1 dell, hp, and asus rog flow have gpu. asus rog z13 i think can switch between gpu and onboard graphics to save battery. i'm really trying to tick all boxes when buying my next laptop. ideally i would like 32gb ram, 512gb-1tb ssd, 120hz screen, GPU, good ports including sd card, thunderbolts, usb 3(A), 3.5 jack, hdmi, bluetooth, wifi. must be 2in1 or tablet form factor with stylus. it seems very difficult to find 32gb ram or upgradeable ram. i think hp envy is teh only one where you can later upgrade ram. the device that ticks all my boxes is unfortunately old and ugly. it is the HP zbook x2. it comes with wacom emr! the best value for money 2in1 seems to be the lenovo flex 5 but it doesn't tick all boxes. next is probably hp envy for ticking more boxes. asus flip ranges are BEAUTIFUL and light, but more expensive than flex and still don't tick all boxes. surface pro 8, rog flow z13 and hp zbook x2 are right on top but double the price. the price increase seems way too high. 30% more would be ok but not double...
Awesome research and very pertinent issues highlighted . Exactly the sort of questions I had in mind, after using all sorts of tablets, phablets, 2in1s, ipads, surface pros last 3 decades or so. The power 2 in 1 consumer is indeed spoilt for choice.. After much research, I would go with HP envy series ( i7-11g,512GB SSD, 16GB RAM, Wacom pen add on) in India due to superior support and easy availability of spares for several years
