Maybe ask, “Before the fight, you said you were faster than MVP. After fighting him, do you still believe you are faster than MVP?”
He's right about Colby Covington. Colby track record shows he has no intent of fighting any of the contenders unless they are pushing 40 or on a losing streak
Even though Garry can be annoying at times, he would have a very good chance against Shavkat. Rahkmonov is a little overrated imo. I know people will think that's a crazy statement based on the fact that he is unbeaten and also all his wins are finishes. Shavkats offensive wrestling isn't that great. His striking whilst aggressive is defensively lacking and Garry is definitely a more polished striker. His submissions are the best part of his game but Ian seems to be working hard on that side of his game heavily so if he can stop Shavkats wrestling, he would have a very good chance of winning that fight.
Ian deserves respect for literally wanting to fight everyone unlike Colby who fights once every 3 years and against people who are alwyas on losing streaks
If you think about it, we should have expected this kind of aproach. MVP is clearly faster on the feet, and Ian was freezing a bit on the feet aswell, but his jiu jitsu impressed me honestly. Showed that he is clearly a more complete fighter than MVP, who is 10 years older than him btw, and almost finished him. If Ian can have one more win, maybe agaisnt shavkat, who is champion material, a fight between him and Leon would be crazy.
For me I was shocked at how poor his BJJ was against MVP. I say this because MVP clearly has zero ground game knowledge or skills. He was making every mistake in the book and seemed like a complete amateur, and yet Garry couldn't capitalize on it. It seemed like Garry just didn't know what to do at all, and had low IQ for the ground game. He resorted to holding control positions without knowing what to do next, like when he just clung onto MVP's back like a koala for a long time (LOL!). For someone who lived in Brazil, trains with the best BJJ guys, speaks fluent Portuguese, etc... I expected a lot more from his ground skills.
@@Mr-E. I dont think MVP has zero ground game knowledge. At least not on the defensive end. The guy has like 25 MMA fights, and even though he is new in the UFC, he defenitely has to have at least decent takedown defense to only have lost 2 times (now 3 against Ian) in leagues like bellator and such. And to see Ian, who is a pure striker, take down a guy like that and atempt multiple submissions and almost finishing him in the first round impressed me a lot. He is not living in Brazil for that long, and learning these skills and using them on a very experienced guy like MVP for sure make him seem like a very complete fighter, specially since he is a great striker.
@@oldformatguru its not that crazy. Shavkat and Ian both fought geoff neal. Shavkat finished him, but neal was hiting him hard. Garry beat him by decision but almost didnt get touched. It would be an interesting fight
Pride of Ireland? I dunno I heard a lot of them disowned him -- I know the 12.5% Irish in me has. And that fight was an MVP win, at worst a draw. MVP did more effective damage.
Gary was the one saying over and over how he was going to go into the fight and sleep MVP standing, then did nothing but hung on for dear life as soon as he got hit. Maybe that has something to do with that and not just the casuals?
@Harry-the-Hat he compares him self to Mcgregor, he larps as him and doesn't get the difference. CM in his prime would tell the other fighter what he was going to do and what round. The mystic Mag. I think he actually thought he would sleep MVP but got panicked when he realised he wasn't on his level so decided to wet blanket him. He couldn't even finish the Kick boxer MVP on the ground ffs.
Everyone hating in the comments as per usual. It’s funny to me that you guys seem to hate this guy so much yet you watch all of his fights and interviews😂😂😂
You guys do exactly what Ian Garry wants. Bunch of sheep lol. Everyone talk about him and buy a ppv to see Ian Garry lose, that's brings him more attention and make Ian Garry famous like Conor. That gives him the leverage when he negotiates a new contract with UFC. So you're actually end up helping Ian Garry reach his goals
Woah, no surprise the comments aren't too favourable towards Ian. Tbphwy I'm not a fan when it comes to him opening his mouth although he's very young and had clearly atrocious "media training" by the looks of it. If he actually had a solid experienced publicist that held his hand like Paddy the Baddy had(he lost thousands of subscribers and gained back 800k subs after he was PR trained), Ian would probably have a solid fan base. That and two good barn burner fights in a row or two terrific knockouts and he'd be the golden boy of the UFC that he thinks himself of currently .
Ian was gonna win that fight FOR SURE. MVP was a +160 underdog. You guys that only see what your biast allows you to see arnt good for combat sports. Ian is unpopular with the fsn base. So nanturally they arent gonns want to see him win. Almlst EXACTLY like watching Alex get rode around a ring and controled for 4 rounds and lose a unanimous decision in his own country, so that everyone could run around and pretend he won that fight somehow? Gas his little head up until he takes an early fight agaisnt the mkst dangeroud man in the sport? Gets his lights pit out for good? So disrespectful to one of the great champions of sll time. When the dude lost fair and square. Now he is on the outside looking in, you all act like you've learned nothing. Shameful.
If somebody HAD to win the fight I’d give it Ian. He clearly won the first. He clearly lost the 2nd. And only won the 3rd because he got on mvps back. If Ian was really the man he would’ve got that rnc first round. He had zero intention of striking with mvp. Can’t blame him there. But all the talk, etc. it was bad. I think Ian landed one jab the entire fight. Worst fight I’ve watched this year.
On Media Day before the fight, Ian said “I’m faster”, “I’m gonna put on a show,” and “I haven’t got an idea of what he’s gonna be like to grapple, because I’m gonna strike with him and I’m gonna punch the mouth off him.” I know fighters do the opposite of what they say a lot, but Ian could start to redeem himself with the fans, if he just dialed down how great he says he is all the time. We want to like fighters. But we like people who are just genuinely nice, respectful guys (Gilbert Burns is a good example) or guys who are over the top bad guys, but are clearly in on the joke (like Chael). Instead of spending most of his pre-fight interviews going on for 20 minutes about how elite his skills are and how inevitable his championship reign is, Ian should dial up the humble takes he’s had. Like, how he said previously that he wanted to actually earn a title fight by slowly climbing, beating 2 in the top 15, 2 in the top 10, and 2 in the top 5. Also, connecting more with the interview instead of intensely monologuing. He connects with and respects his Brazilian teammates so beautiful. And seems so wonderfully attentive and caring with his son. I just think Ian doesn’t have to sacrifice confidence for connection. He can be confident and connect.
He doesn't need to listen to anyone trying to tell him what to say,15-0.he is what he is ye but I am Irish and ill be supporting him for the rest of his mma days.
The fact that he's sitting there describing how he wasn't able to get the choke tells you that he's not completely delusional and knows his technique needs to get better.

@@Fightconnoisseur96
why give ian slack, when hes not living to his own hype?
@@edwardhim2276 OP said he would prefer an active Welterweight like Garry who is winning over a completely inactive guy like Colby and you asked him why.
keep yappin my boy.
He isn't marketable.. feel bad for the guy
He does it to himself. Lots of fighters are confident but he’s over the top. He hasn’t accomplished enough to heap the praise on himself the way he does.
Yeah. Absolute su$ker. Not his wife, but his mom and daddy
So he is outraged at the boss.
Well done Ian, the Irish support you. You made that look easy and could've finished it in the first round! Look forward to your next fight 👍
29:14 skip to the good part
Hate it or love it Ian Gary is playing chess not checkers. He knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to these interviews and how he markets himself.
He is hated, but people tune in to see him fight. He is still undefeated no matter how he wins. He gets the job done.
I don't think he realizes how insufferable he can be. Very socially awkward in my opinion and hiding it with bravado which comes across as insincere. Great fighter though. Hope he keeps winning
@@Peter-dk2ov I believe he is more than aware on what is going on over all. This right now is what is getting him the attention he wants in his career.
Say what you will about Ian Garry, but you have to respect how he’s continued to win after the months of harassment that he’s faced from the fans. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone get cyber bullied this bad.
Totally agree. It’s hard to like him but that’s a subjective thing. Anyone getting this much hate at 26 cannot be easy
All my homies hate Ian 😂
All my homies loves Colby 😂
You’ve got some wack ass homies
People bully this kid for being too cocky but recently he has been humble. I don't see anything wrong with the way he fights
Saying 'I am better striker than MVP' is just part of selling a fight- people are taking it way too literally
Most unlikeable guy in the ufc currently
"Corner Mcgregor"
Tough to say when Colby is still on the roster but he’s right up there
Def not
The anti- holloway and gaethje
Well he won't be retiring with CTE, good for him.
Did Ian break his right hand? Looks swollen a bit..he got the win and did it against a seasoned MVP. Onto the next Champ!
How many of you guys here said before the fight, that MVP will whoop his ass.
And? What happened?
Ian won. MVP was far away to whoop Ian's ass.
So what are you guys saying now?
Same BS like before, just put another fighter's name in the game; give him Shavkat, give him this fighter, give him that fighter...and so on.
And the end Ian is 15-0. And I am sure you guys will continue to whine about that.
Honestly... was that entertaining to watch??
Shout out to Ariel for calling out Ian about chopping it up after the press conference
He had to try and wrestle because mvp was way to fast for ian. This guy sux!
Ironically, Conor would've hated the way he fought
Ian said he was going to show MVP that hes faster and a better striker. Boy that aged like milk. Ian is the opposite of conor. Ian talks a lot of game and doesnt perform. The reason people liked Conor cause he called what he was going to do. Conor was Mystic Mac.
Ppl aren't bringing that up enough how he swore he was the better striker
y'all are really knocking him for adjusting during the fight, fighting smart, and WINNING... any other fighter would be praised
@@DynastyIconno we are sayin all week he was saying how mvp can’t stand with him cus he is faster and sharper than him. 😂 he was not! Page was lighting him up
ARIEL , M.V.P. DEFINITELY WON THAT FIGHT , IAN DID OKAY BUT NOT TO WIN DA FIGHT HE SERIOUSLY DIDN'T DO ENOUGH TO WIN . ANOTHER POOR JUDGEING FIGHT. ARIEL SAY NO MORE .
MVP can't do basic jujutsu. Got fraud checked by Ian. It's MMA. If you don't like it when they mix the martial arts then your watching the wrong sport
Welp, he didn’t win the fight. Ian did, soooooooo….
you can just love this kid
Real hard hitting interview Ariel. Rather than ask “what do you think of people that said it was a draw?”, maybe ask “Dana White said he thought it was a draw, how would you respond to him?”. Maybe ask, “Before the fight, you said you were faster than MVP. After fighting him, do you still believe you are faster than MVP?”
He's right about Colby Covington. Colby track record shows he has no intent of fighting any of the contenders unless they are pushing 40 or on a losing streak
Ian always sits in that chair. for everything. it's his favorite chair. he has had so many great memories while sitting on that chair
I’d love to see that fight. Both are great fighters.

Fans are disappointed cuz his talk doesn’t match his performance. But give him credit cuz he’s winning and that’s difficult to do in the ufc.
can someone fill me in on why everyone genuinely dislikes this guy?
talks a big game and doesn't back it up. Shavkat exists. Shavkat doesn't talk much and finishes all his fights. Shavkat is who Gary pretends to be.
@@Sir1626 so basically you irrationally hate someone for not being someone else. Makes no sense, man.
27:45 There's no way he's fought more times than Kevin Holland lol
Ian deserves respect for literally wanting to fight everyone unlike Colby who fights once every 3 years and against people who are alwyas on losing streaks
Why are yall so mad MVP lost, maybe he should learn the smallest bit of grapple defense
They should run it back if hes so confident
If you think he beats Shankar ur nutz
@@oldformatguru its not that crazy. Shavkat and Ian both fought geoff neal. Shavkat finished him, but neal was hiting him hard. Garry beat him by decision but almost didnt get touched. It would be an interesting fight

Pride of Ireland? I dunno I heard a lot of them disowned him -- I know the 12.5% Irish in me has. And that fight was an MVP win, at worst a draw. MVP did more effective damage.
Its crazy how hated Ian Garry is and he just brushes it off.
*Mma fight doesn't turn into a kickboxing match* mma casuals: "the guy who wrestled was scared!!"
lots of new annoying fans are getting into the sport, i think 13 years ago fans weren't complaining that much about wrestling.
Gary was the one saying over and over how he was going to go into the fight and sleep MVP standing, then did nothing but hung on for dear life as soon as he got hit. Maybe that has something to do with that and not just the casuals?
@@Jay-B87 you mean he wasn't honest about his game plan when announcing it to his opponent? Shocker!

We're trying to here the delusions. He lost the fight
So you're actually end up helping Ian Garry reach his goals
a wins a win🤷♂️
See if you can finish Shavkat in your next fight
that's gonna be some knock .16-0 ??
Woah, no surprise the comments aren't too favourable towards Ian. Tbphwy I'm not a fan when it comes to him opening his mouth although he's very young and had clearly atrocious "media training" by the looks of it.
If he actually had a solid experienced publicist that held his hand like Paddy the Baddy had(he lost thousands of subscribers and gained back 800k subs after he was PR trained), Ian would probably have a solid fan base. That and two good barn burner fights in a row or two terrific knockouts and he'd be the golden boy of the UFC that he thinks himself of currently .
Not many English people like pimblet also.
This guys fights bore me to sleep
Shameful.
All them words and you didn't say anything

Abysmal performance given all his talk. He was terrified to engage. Complete kuck
Boring ass fight. Bruv said he is quicker than MVP and then laid on him the whole time.
he had a gameplan and he caught out all you casual viewers.
Mental health is real guys
He ain't the pride of Ireland
If somebody HAD to win the fight I’d give it Ian. He clearly won the first. He clearly lost the 2nd. And only won the 3rd because he got on mvps back. If Ian was really the man he would’ve got that rnc first round. He had zero intention of striking with mvp. Can’t blame him there. But all the talk, etc. it was bad. I think Ian landed one jab the entire fight. Worst fight I’ve watched this year.
The Haters are still Here 😅 All of you said he will lose.. I told you all he would Win.. and you still HATING 😂😂
Anyone know what watch that is?
Haters gonna Hate
G'day Mate
i cant believe how fast mvp is even in his late 30s! ian had to take him down to win
Clear 29-28 Garry but saying that MVP had top position with 2 1/2 minutes left and hopped up.. bad call from MVP

@@thisguy976 ye thanks a million
The fact that he's sitting there describing how he wasn't able to get the choke tells you that he's not completely delusional and knows his technique needs to get better.
Garry should give 10k to the dude who didn’t give information to MVP.. assuming the story is even true.
Ian isn’t wrong, if he choked mvp out in rd1 it would’ve been incredibly impressive. I was still impressed with his grappling and how fast he took mvps back
