@@fabricobbletech I bought a 79 chevy luv that had a 350 chevy. I bought without the motor the motor mounts are welded. So I wanted to copy you with the 4.3 as I have a couple laying around. I was just wondering if the 4.3 would fit in the same place as the 350 was.
@@boxerfan2 The mounts I used are Power By Ace. I bet if you went to his website and compared the differences between his SB 350 kit and his 4.3 kit you could tell if it will work. Essentially by looking at the pictures of the different mounts. Worst case a little bit of fab work could probably get you there
@@boxerfan2 That’s awesome to hear thanks. I was hoping to give people, that had never done a swap like me, a good idea of what exactly all goes into it. It’s easy to overlook a lot of little things but Chevy LUVs are probably one of the easiest vehicles to swap.
I don’t like wrestling transmission alignment underneath the truck on my back. It’s doable but if I can avoid it I will. Also with the permanently welded rear transmission crossmember I would have to have the engine shifted forward and dangling anyway. Trade offs either way!
I hear ya man. I don’t have a lift either or a garage and my driveway has a slope. I jus pu a clutch in my roommates little Dakota. My shoulder still killing me. But you were putting 5 lbs of stuff ina 1 lb bag 💼 🤣 But ya got it in and running and ya made it work. You still crack me up. 😂
@@squidhound00001 lol yeah it was tight. But I’ll tell you my 2 least favorite things to do. Running wires or working up under the dash of a full interior vehicle and transmissions underneath a vehicle on jack-stands. That said, I would still do it the same way lmao.
Well she's coming along great. It's going to be such a fun reliable truck when your done. I hope you take us along for the first drive.
Does any one know if the 4.3 and 5.7 chevy engines have the motor mounts in the same location on the block?
I personally do not know that. Are you trying to figure out if the engine would be positioned the same as the 4.3 in my LUV?
