Wow! I knew Dominic as a tech wizard, but wasn‘t aware he is also a fantastic musician! 2.0 is awesome, and now I have 3 empty banks to make use of all those new features. :)))
Great demo as usual! Thanks for your commitment to improving and supporting your products with software updates. Hydrasynth Deluxe is the best synth I've ever bought. R.
@@Sicolirics Dominic's response is perfectly correct and not 'nonsense' at all. Some synths do audio over USB (Roland e.g.), some don't (Hydrasynth, Minilogue e.g.) Sure, it would be nice but would entail a big redesign.
Ok, I think, I've finally grasped why people are using hardware synths, it's more about the performance options and preselected/preconfigured simpler tools combinations than the actual synth tones it's capable to produce in isolation. To recreate something like that with software like Massive or Serum would be tremendously challenging (if possible at all), so even the most convincing sampling wouldn't be able to provide the same possiblities as original hardware, it's too complicated. Am I right?
I get what you mean. Hydra is digital, so if you'd run the same code in a computer it would sound the same, but you still wouldn't sound the same, because you'd use it differently.
That was an awfully unnecessary way of saying 'many performers prefer hardware as an approach to music'. Which is of course true. Hardware is simply more familiar to a live musician and more direct in most cases. It's a nice tactile response. You can do anything and more ITB - you could have a great controller and map it all out too: but it's still at times more laborious that simply taking a unit that was purpose built for a job. The correct approach these days is a little of everything I find. DAW/VST/Hardware. Depending on what. Sometimes you just like a load of knobs and no clicks, screen time or otherwise. Nothing more than that.
Dominic is unmasked in this video as a YMO fan :)
With a little Casiopea in there as well.

It's only after seeing this comment that I suddently realize it's the "behind the mask" chord progrssion! Truly fantastic arrangement here.

Please ASM, will Audio over USB come true?
no, that is not possible as the USB connection is not an audio connection.
@@AshunSoundMachines
That's the biggest nonsense I've heard in years.
RME has usb and is an audio company and more consolidated than yours

great!.....may i know which brand of expression pedal works with the hydrasynth deluxe?....thks
Standard expression pedals work with Hydrasynth. Hydrasynth can detect polarity or adjust manually
@@AshunSoundMachines thank you for the highlight sir.....much appreciated!!

no. you are not right.
You couldn't be anymore wrong I have a ton of synths and eurorack all voices were bought solely for their signature sounds, stick to abelton buddy

Well damn!
Now this is what I call a synth demo. Way better than some of the idiots with credit cards an zero talent out there.

Love the new features… but not necessarily demonstrated with Muzak!
So, it's like that then.
