I love how the thumbnail is literally the end-credits advertisement.
"...with JAM in it!"
I love how the thumbnail is metaphorically the end-credits advertisement.
@@1101Archimedes Not even metaphorically. The thumbnail is literally showing what is advertised in the end credits.
I love how the thumbnail is hyperbolically the end-credits advertisement.
And then it turned out that Steam's "come one come all" policy REALLY bit her in the ass...
+RarefoilB No it bit us in the ass, steam is perfectly fine and still making money off of us being scammed
Sad thing is no matter how bad or broken a game seems to be, there'll always be that group of people that will buy it and defend it to the death.
"Oh it's only been in early access for 3 years! And the devs release at least one 10mb patch every 6 months! It's awesome if you give a chance, really!"
Eh, I still think it's overblown. Yeah you can't just flip through the front page blindly and trip over a good game, you have to hear about it by suggestion or other news sources, but that's how I was finding games to buy from the beginning.
@@uzernam303 millibits? That's pretty small.
"You stop so you can wander around a couple of rooms for an hour stealin knick knacks like some unambitious burgalor".
Somewhere, Trilby is crying.
The Great Saxtonian “burgalor”
Love that ending, "So here's to you Steam, an these slow summer months, a you and indie gaming are a true friend to... What's that? Oh Sleeping Dogs came out, well, fuck this noise."
We did watch the video *too* ya know
4:30
When "with a fish" was said, chills were sent down my spine.. woah.
"and the fish is wearing a Viking helmet" that sounds about right...
i'm IRONICALLY buying all the zp merchandise my limited budget can handle.
I'm making an reference to something stupid by being IRONICALLY stupid (this joke has levels)
let's get a catapult... IRONICALLY!
Christian Koch *Trebuchet
+calvin mcclory THEY HAVE MERCH?????
+Somatic Apparition it's a tree...that has a bucket. that is a bit wacky
This is so tragic to look back on in the wake of the entire Steam Greenlight/Steam Direct debacle...
Zero punctuation is amazing for cooking pasta.
Put the pasta in the pan, along with the boiling water, watch the video, and the pasta's done.
Is he slowly hinting towards a Binding of isaac reveiw?
***** Actually, he quite likes Dark Souls which has a similar gameplay feel, so I have a feeling he might quite like it
He may review Rebirth in the near future.
we'll have to wait then
No
No, but he did eventually give it a nod in his “most important games of the decade” video
he's been taking lessons from the chocolate rain guy
"i step away from the mic to breathe"
1:56 DANG RIGHT!
3:02
This video is about indie games on Steam, and Yahtzee writes "I drew pictures of us on the moon" Reference to To The Moon?
"Wiping out more ugly green things than the cleanup crew at a congestion convention."
lol WAT
Green also means ill, so a convention of sick people would have a lot of green things
He better at least review Binding of Isaac when Afterbirth comes out
Can you send a link? I've seen him mention it as a good example of randomly generated content but never a full on review
Ah yea those were the 2 I saw. I'd thought you meant an actual review, but thanks :)
LOLed so hard at the funny bits, especially with the Imp in the end credits. Oh, and the video has some bits of pause glitches at the end (even though the timer is still going), but other than that, it's okay.
I lost it at the "missionary position" comparison.
4:58 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD was on Steam. It got removed a while back though.
3:49, pretty sure that was a reference to 5 days a stranger, an adventure game by Yahtzee circa 2003, who stars an unambitious burglar, Trilby.
God damnit, Yahzee. I have things to do tomorrow! Let me go!
I wonder if Yahtzee will ever review a game from the Ace Attorney series...
I wonder if Yahtzee will ever review a game without gag reflex toilet humour. 5 jokes of them in just over a minute.
Dandaman955 what?
What?
Dandaman955 i dont understand your original comment...
Zyad48
See, I took your comment and hilariously mad-libbed it to describe the current state of Yahtzee's reviews. Genius!
█ thomas, was alone
No, he wasnt alone, hes just next to a Creeper called Gopal Sangra.
the moving on picture just cracked me up :D
Omg, I read your book about month ago and I didn't know you had a RUclips channel! I absolutely love your book and this as well! Please keep up this awesomeness!
What is his books name?
Jam
You're serious? Jam. May I ask what is it about?
well in nut a nutshell, these two best friends, a ass hole neighbor and Starbucks girl are trying to survive in world taken over by man eating strawberry jam. There are some classic government cover up guys, and a cults etc. pretty much the whole story was making fun the post-apocalyptic survivor genera. I loved it!!! Its super funny!
Aryan Gupta - Get 'Jam' the audiobook. It's amazing and Yahtzee himself is the narrator.
Orcs Must Die! 2 is super fun IMO. I have over 300 hours logged on that game and still boot it up and play a couple levels from time to time
Yeah, that too. It's a can't-miss idea, Ben!
Speaking of Ads, what's with those ones in the related video bar that play sound when i'm trying to watch stuff? You'd think there would be some kinda law against those.
Thats like telling Gabe to leave Valve and go make games in a alley with the help of paper and glue.
I finally realized what they're doing: they're getting their videos to date
no he just talks really fast, thats one of the whole angles of the show
I read both of his novels and loved them both.
Wow, that flew way over your head.
Seriously, it's like walking into a store and complaining they have signs telling you that week's specials.
chocolate RAIN some stay dry while others feel the pain
"The really interesting stuff bubbles up"
*Picture of the Binding of Isaac*
Eeeugh, alright, that's 4 Bad Taste points on your card, Mr. Croshaw.
NoiseMarines You mean that widely celebrated loveably macab rogue game that's credited as one of the few games that revived the whole genre? The game with enough balls to mention abortion, infanticide, and dozens of other taboo subjects when most video games can hardly stomach the idea of two people kissing?
Nah, tis an interesting game indeed
Yeah it sure is a great game made in flash that makes immature dead baby jokes, and tries and fails to be as good as The Legend of Zelda.
unorthodoxJ I think my favorite part of Binding of Isaac is all the memes that are in it. Because that's talented writing! Just put in a face from an Internet meme! There's no way anyone could hate that at all.
There's not really a whole lot of "writing" in the game, which is fine. It's like knocking Guitar Hero for not having a solidly writtencampaign, it's an element of a video game-not a make or break essential one.
I like the themes & tone combined with addictive gameplay and the swell soundtrack. Good enough of a combo for me
Which is probably why he hasn't reviewed this now that I think about it, because while he has professed on numerous occasions to liking the game he's been very vocal about not reviewing a game without a story campaign.
I think he means the steam sale alerts. that show up when you start up steam or sometimes exit out of a game. but they're trying to save you money on a game you might want. and you can still exit out of them too.
i like binding of isacc too
Binding Isaac always takes stress out of my day
Liam Cronin Funny, it always stresses up mine, even though I like the game.
darezzi97
Yea I get that
I'm thinking of getting Jam on Itunes audio book. but is it a sequel? if it is then whats the first book called and is it also on iTunes audio books?
Jam is not a sequel, it's entirely standalone. He did write a book before that called Mogworld though.
Mr. Big Snake Thank. Just got it and listening to it now. Must admit its an interesting concept for an Apocalypse. Based on Real world Scenario Grey Goo.
Hey Yahtzee. Whats wrong with Keeping your Spare key in your Dressing gown pocket? Damn sensible idea i think.
Amazon: WE'RE HAVING A SALE!!!
PirateBay: That's cute...
Incredible. A RUclips video full of opinions and not a single 'dislike'. I think the internet is broken.
you said "Steam Updates" which are the things that pop up asking if you want to restart steam after they updated it. I was talking about the sale notices.
I believe he's made mention in another video.
Chocolate Rain comes to mind.
They breathe -away- from the mic. Not in it.
Crash-prone is a yes. Often when I'm in the middle of a conversation with my friends on Steam both him and I mysteriously go offline and it says "Lost connection to Steam, chat will resume when connection is restored" (or something similar to that). When I start up TF2, ALL the time I have to close it, restart Steam and go through it all again because "Steam Beta isn't running". Sometimes TF2 would crash for no reason, and having to pay money in order to use half the Steam features is stupid.
Wait there's a Bus Simulator... 2?!?!? BWAHAHAAHA :D
You'd be surprised...
I wish Yahtzee would do a video on Binding of Isaac.
That would be one helluva video.
*Moves away from mic to breath in*
*Edit's breaths and pauses out of video to keep pacing*
he implied that he sped up his voice not the clip. "fast talking ben Yahtzee"
I kinda wonder if Yahtzee ever realized the the gem of the Summer of Arcade came at the very end with Dust: an Elisian tale which is definedly Summer great material that would be up his alley for both good and complainy reasons.
Was that 6 rocks and guy in a deck chair a fantasy world dizzy reference??
*watches the video**looks at comments* Huh, an interesting discussion on human respiratory system, how intriguing
He does edit out pauses for breath, but the speech is actually how fast he talks.
That made me chuckle ha
I wish we could would get a review of The Binding of Issac. Apparently he likes it.
Yahtzee calling binding of isaac 'interesting' made me happier than it should.
OMG! He said Brutal with out the funny "U" thing!
he once said that he presses pause to breath
I would like a fish with a hat... Not just Fantasy games though, a hat going on a weapon would be exactly the next step that TF2 will introduce.
Oh I'm an idiot, I read it as "Cash-prone" instead of "Crash-prone." I had similar problems to you but on my old 2003 computer, now it works fine.
you know, i'm some what curious about what you think about Kerbal space program.
5:05 so hee does know about the binding of isaac!
Lets see how many videos EscapistMagazine can upload.
'Why every two weeaks?' is my only quesion. Your idea seems to be that he should upload his videos seperately, but I don't see how cutting the rate of video production in half from once a week to once a fortnight would improve matters.
I almost expected you to say se-seveneth
oh he does
*1 month later*
so doctor, what was the cause of death
lol Cain toads. New idea for an Indi game. Have an Australian stereotype driving game in which you have to murder all the Cain toads on the Continent in one of those old fashioned Land Rovers. Maybe throw in some levels with a shotgun that shoots boomerangs either on foot or in the car. Then the sequel can be that they introduced another invasive species that doesn't do what it was supposed to do and you have to once again take up the mantle of the crazy dude with a car and a gun who hates invasive species. The game can be called Captain Australia; maybe Vegemite can be used for health or maybe this idea is getting more racist than a meeting of the Hitler fan club.
For an australian sterotype, it would need to be a Holden Ute (Pick up)
I likee how interested he sounds when a new game comes out but then he mocks it as we'll, good one Yahtzee
XBox Live Arcade: WE'RE HAVING A SALE!!!
Steam: That's cute...
Thanks Man, OneyNG is awesome!
Any chance Yahtzee has a Binding of Isaac review somewhere in the archives?
Just Cause!
Did you know that Yahtzee is one of the main reasons of slendermans original creation?
Bachelor of Trying Almost Hard Enough presented to James Demonstrablythick
The curse of the top-rated comment - 10,000 jockstrap sniffers telling you things you already know - my condolences.
I wish he had done Dust: AET in the video instead of the written column.
You can hear, after a long drawn out sentence (The first one) that by the end of it he runs out of breath, next second he's completely fine, it is editing.
Chocolate Rain!
A Brian Clough reference, oh Yahtzee
pirate bay: awesome!
I'm pretty sure he was making a technical joke with the visuals at 1:45
you have to review the binding of isaac now!
yahtzee is the new skip bayless. playing a character
Can't wait until you talk about Epic Store
Restarted steam today for an update and the sale things popped up for the first time in weeks. "Steam update news" Yep you're right. My apologies.
It's no problem. I can understand that. No harm done.
i believe you are correct
funny how 2 years later steam is bigger than PSN and xbox live lol. PC FTW!
Actually, it's not. But still..
PC FTW!
No it's not bigger than PSN and Shitbox live, but at least Steam shows some respect in its users unlike Origin and every other online store ever.
"Steam shows some respect in its users". Air Control, The Slaughtering Grounds, Earth: Year 2066, Mineory, Alpha Zylon, Bad Rats, Day One: Garry's Incident, Dark Shadows: Army of Evil, Guise of the Wolf, Revelations 2012, The Forgotten Ones. The list goes on. I'm not saying that XBL or PSN are better than Steam, obviously Steam is better than both. But recently it has become a dumping ground of shit titles, quality control is at an all-time low.
BranchySpore700 That's why I figure that the two big consoles have more quality control and only let in the big developers who make shit games, while Steam lets in things like Air Control, which is as indie as it gets.
James North But while Steam is run by a relatively small company whose reach is limited, Sony and Microsoft have no fucking excuse for quality issues.
OH GOD ESCAPIST!!!! PLEASE STOP!!!!! THERES TOO MANY!!!!! I CANT HANDLE IT!!!!!!
No, he does talk fast but he also edits out pauses, silences and inhalation. It's standard practice (to a lesser extent) for lots of things; radio ads are an ideal example
....but yahtzee has a channel he makes let's play every once in a while.
I need a steam bath! :)
god i hate how he hinted at binding if isaac but hasn't yet done a review on it.
he still hasn't
Actually, Yahtzee has stated that he edits out the pauses in between sentences. The speed is all him though.
The magic of friendsh- uhhh, I mean editing.
Yeah, that's it. Editing.
He edits tehm out, correct. The other thing, you can hear him run out of breath now and then if you listen close at the end of sentences.
because he has a professional mic, aka IT HAS A WINDBREAKER.
Why did this pop up first when I typed in Zero Punctuation Terraria???
I think Yahtzee should have given, Dust:An Elysian Tail, a try.
Well mostly right... I knew the word "Update" was in there and obviously "Steam" so three cheers for problem-solving. Also sorry if I came off as a bit of a dick, I was just really tired when writing those comments.
