I lost my dad to this on the 22nd of April 2011 and nursing him myself was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. This illness stole his freedom to move, his voice which every daughter needs to hear their Daddy's voice and then it ultimately stole his life. Please if you only have pennies to spare they will take care of the pounds please donate what you can
Clotho42 Same. Especially because my grandfather died of MND. It's a horrible and terrifying disease. Near those final days, I remember I had a moment where I realised I no longer remembered the sound of his voice. I really appreciate this video, it's such a perfect demonstration of the disease. I love Tim Minchin all the more for bringing attention to this
Some years ago a close relative contracted MND. It took 12 agonising and heartbreaking months before he died. It was a living death. Thank you Tim & the SSO. Music speaks all languages. Never underestimate the power of music.
Bravo. It shows us JUST how powerful music is to our journeys. It is an excellent example of innovative "multi-media" awareness campaigns -- MND groups took a rare and under-resourced, under-researched condition that was predominantly being ignored at a global scale. They added a bit of water (ICE) and a bit of amazing music (Tim Minchin). Viola - a global awareness/fund-raising campaign that knocks it out of the park. Bravo MND Australia, Minchin & SOO. (CEOs of other NPOs, pay very close heed).
There are very many people outside of my country. But I really regret that I am not a close friend of him. Sincerely yours, russian science popularizer.
I personally think MS is worse than any disease in the world, at least for the sufferer. Cancer may claim more lives and affect more people but the late stages of MS are terrifying.
Wow so empowering for so many of us battling with mnd, thank you xo

+TheMeeper12 MS (Multiple Sclerosis) = MND (Motor Neuron Disease) = ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis)
I don't think you can compare terminal illnesses and diseases, as they are all debilitating, often painful and frightening.
