  • In this video i will be showing you the process i go through to make a couple repair panels for one of the new projects in the workshop ,the Lancia montecarlo .with replacement panels for these classic icons being non existent that means i had to take maters into my own hands .Using a combination of modern 3D scanning and traditional metal shaping techniques with a variety of tools you will learn what it takes to bring these cars back to life

    Impressive. I can see possibilites with the scanning method where the data is used on a CNC milling machine to make a 'positive' mould or die stamp in resin-stone or some other tough material in order to use it to press out a basic shaped panel using the rubber press forming method (into urethane rubbber sheet which behaves like a 'fluid' under pressure).

      @@TK42138 definitely I feel the possibilities are endless once using a 3d scanner as the more you understand it the more your way of thinking expands

    I don't have a lot of knowledge about this, so forgive my ignorance, but is the final product in this video mirrored? It looks like the opposite side to me? Thanks

    • @hithardcustoms
      @hithardcustoms  3 месяца назад +1

      You have a good eye and well done for picking up on that
      It is the opposite side and that is because I was basically filming and making both sides of the car at the same time so that it would improve efficiency on tooling setup
      I designed the buck to be reversible the use for both side
