Dude just ordered a 2023 S5 and loved watching your journey. Keep your head up. You have more of a positive impact on the car enthusiast community then you may realize. When can we expect the first video about the new ride?
I replaced pvc prank case, pvc breather hose, and oil filter housing. My oil was flying around everywhere but luckily but oil cap did not poped out. I think all these b9 platform have pvc issue when you hit certain mileage. I love your contents! Keep it up man
i appreciate how hard it must of been to make this video, i am going to check on mine now thank you very much for bringing this to our attention i have been following blu's progress for a while now and am just starting to get my s4 how i want it. i look forward to the new motor reveal and subsequent modifications/videos
Seriously so happy our kind words can make you feel all "butterflies & spirits" inside haha , can't wait to see what you got to share with us ! I am glad to hear that the issue might have been honed in , we can all take another look at ours . #bluforever
Sorry to hear this bro, I have a 2017 b9 and managed to catch this before the oil caught fire. Just by chance I topped up the washer fluid before a long drive and saw the engine covered in oil, the pcv had failed and forced oil out of the filler cap seals. The pcv was a cheap fix but would of been a lot worse if I didn’t see the oil! Apparently the pcv doesn’t last past 60/70k miles. Good luck with the next build bro
Oh yeah... I have been reading about the PCV Leaks on several Audi Forums. Yes, including but not limited to the 2.9L. Again, my condolences.. I am WAITING to see that B9.5 reveal 😎
@@StreetRyde As you know, it's the same engine. Which is also why aftermarket companies like "RacingLine" (Not advocating for this specific company, just mentioning it)are making aftermarket parts for this problem.
Do you know if this is on all B9's? I came across a forum and there is a TSB 5/12/2020 for oil loss from filler cap. It appears they fixed the problem sometime in 2019. All 17-18 models affected and 19 S4 VIN# 000001-056412 and 19 S5 VIN# 000001-027694 are also affected. I'm not sure if Blu or 034 Phoenix would have fallen into this category.
Really appreciate for the detailed video my man. It must be very hard for you to make it. I have just checked my 2019 B9 S5, I don't see any oil on my cap fortunately. Do you know by any chance if this part is recalled by audi ? I do remember sending my car in for recall but not sure if it is this one.
Weighing in on this, my S4 also had issues with the PCV and my oil cap doing funky stuff, in fact I ended up having an oil cap stuck once and had to pry it off with a needle nose. I was doing my spark plugs and ended up having to buy a new PCV piece as a whole so I ended up replacing mine but it sucks that so many people are having these PCV issues.
So you still didn’t mention under what circumstances did the fire start. Assuming you were full on boost/WOT when it happened? Maybe not though and you were cooling down in between runs? You noticed or heard anything strange right before you saw flames/smoke? Pointing at the PCV as the probable cause is certainly helpful, but I think sharing more details could only be helpful in the event it ever happens to someone else.
I'm not sure when the fire started but it was at the end of the run while I was slowing down I started getting drive system malfunction lights and the shortly noticed smoke.
Can’t wait for the new rebirth of this channel with the new car!

Bro Blu's legacy lives on in Bianca, my 19 S5 coupe with all of the 034 frame inserts I did. You'll be passing the torch on to your new ride from Blu.
Super pumped to see what car you’ve got coming!

I have a 2018 SQ5 stage 2, and my cap blew off 2 days ago. Sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

@@StreetRyde what project you on now? Crazy you got the s5 under 3 seconds
Getting the cats off of mine soon
Yeah that’s one of the first things I changed on my b9 s5, now I’m def going to update my sq5 even if it doesn’t need it
Purchased Racingline’s upgraded PCV/Catch Can combo for this exact reason. Out of curiosity, did a fire investigator support your theory?
No last I heard they said electrical
Sorry to hear this man, at least you’re safe, cars can be replaced.
Agreed

I wasn't sure about the 2.9

As of right now I haven't heard of any recalls or service bulletin for it. Just a revised part.

Great info
I had this exact problem

What mic do you use to record? Has good isolation
TASCAM
I had the same problems with my s5 v9 ,ordered a new one. Problem solved
What would you recommend to replace to fix this issue?
The PCV system fails over time with a lot of boot from upgraded turbo
I appreciate this video. I'll need to investigate if mine is having that problem, as well.
Very welcome
034Motorsport just posted a video 2 days ago, something similar happened to their development S4 - ruclips.net/video/L34Si4TWgjU/видео.html
