    I’d like to mention again, I wanted to highlight some of the important things in my experience with the car I’ve owned for 3 and a half years at this point. Everybody will have different issues/ circumstances, so if you have specific questions, comment them here! Cheers, and thanks for watching.

      @@アレックス-s7w I have a 2012, and it's at around 116k. If you're worried about maintenance on high mileage. All I've had to do to mine is replace the the battery, thermostat and coolant expansion tank. (Thermo is common for the b8 S5 as I've come to understand). I got mine at around 62k miles, and it's been my daily driver since purchase. Best car I've ever owned, and even with 116k miles, a V8, and a less than perfect maintenance schedule, she still averages 20 MPGs city, and 27 MPGs Highway. Like pretty much every other car, if you keep fairly regular maintenance up, it'll last you forever.

    love my s4! only had it for a year and I've already put over 20k miles on it, The one thing I will say to people looking to buy a s4 or s5 go with 2013 up because I ran into the common Dsg issues early on and had to get a whole new transmission installed which cost over 5k. At least with the facelift models u have a bit more reliability and just a more aggressive look!

    I'm just happy the SQ5 was mentioned :D
    I've put close to 30,000 miles between all three of my 3.0T vehicles (DP M6 S4, DP DSG S5, SP SQ5) and share the same sentiments. No major issues or maintenance required, preventative maintenance is key on the 3.0T. There are pretty well recommended service intervals for the waterpump, PCV, and carbon cleaning that you can find online. There is a DIY guide for just about everything if that is your route (certainly mine) and the overall experience is wonderful for the money in regards to comfort, quality, and sportiness. Yeah, I also prefer the S5 sportback over the S4 sedan for the curvier looks. Personally, I got the S4 Avant (stationwagon) as I live in Europe but Audi doesn't offer them in the US. The Avant has rails for a roof rack and cargo volume is bigger plus mine came with a foldable tow hitch - all of those make camping, skiing, cycling trips easier.

    I purchased my 2013 S5 in 2019. So far it’s been a nightmare in gift wrapping. First thing to go was my crank pulley, then my transmission, then my motor itself. My local Audi dealership has had the car longer than I have. The employees pretty much know me by name at this point 😅. My dealership gave me the service history of the car and the previous owner did quite a number on it, lucky I purchased it with a good warranty!

    Thanks Kev. I am looking at a S5 from 2011 to 2014, but wondering if these V6 engines still burn much oil? Can anyone shed some light on this subject? Thanks🙏

    Anyone who takes these cars all the way to 10k are crazy. The car and the oil might be able to handle it but the filter can't. The filter will always be the limiting factor. Also anything that is tuned and experiences any "spirited" driving I would do no more than 5k miles between.

      Ya I always do 3-5k even if the oil says 10k miles

    but theres audi s5 sportback with 4 doors tho... otherwise audi 4 and 5 look simular but are diffrent cars. main downside to the 4 door s5 is that its not a 4,2l v8 but a v6 sadly. Same catch is with the b8.5 s4 tho atleast here in eu they got superchardged v6s. So if ur looking for a v8 u have to take the wagon rs4 b8.5 or either s5(2door) or the rs5(only available in 2 door)

    It’s a nice car but many of them have transmission problems, I think the 340 bmw is a better platform and way more tunable then the Audi. B58 is probably the best 6 cylinder engine in the world today paired with the ZF transmission is just amazing.. so I’d go with the BM all day, for less then 1000$ your at 550 hp on stock turbo with the b58 ,same power on the s4 s5 will cost you double if not triple.

    • @KevG
      @KevG  2 года назад

      B58 is insane right now!! Both are around 450 with a quick flash and some extra goodies. BMW certainly has the advantage for cheap RWD horsepower at the higher price point. I’d love to make a similar video talking about the B58 and trims you can get🤘🏼

    Oil change every 7-8k miles is a BIG NO!!! Every 10k miles and your engine is done for at 100k miles. Change it every 3-5k miles if you want it to last
