Beethoven began the set of three sonatas, Op. 10 in 1796 being this one the first sonata. They were published by Joseph Eder two years later. The sonata is in three movements, the C major outer movements flanking an expressive Adagio molto in A flat major.
The Grammy award-winning pianist Daniel Barenboim has been active on the concert stage since the age of seven when he made his stage debut in his hometown of Buenos Aires. Well known for his work with the East-Western Divan Orchestra, a group of young Arab and Israeli musicians, he is currently the director of the Berlin State Opera, La Scala (Milan) and the Staatskapelle Berlin. Barenboim is described as "one of the few musicians in the world today who could accurately be describe as legendary".

Adagio molto begins at 06:11
Playing this for a concert at around the same speed. This would be pretty hard. Barenboim is a genius and so courageous and in character when he plays.
I agree
It's not hard if your technique is sufficiently developed
@@erezsolomon3838 do it yourself then
@@tds-gc2vr I did play this
Such beautiful tones in the slow movement. Deeply sensitive playing.

Hermosa interpretación !!!
Wonderful!
He plays it so much better in his last video recitals .. he aged like a good wine.. deffinetly the best beethoven you can find
Dedicated to "Gräfin von Brown" ! Not Joseph Haydn, this would be the Sonata op 2 no 3
Actually von Browne's wife, not the patron himself.
@@pubgplayer1720 "Gräfin" means "countess" so it's correct.
@@wojtekdobrowolski8084 Oh woops, it seems I have made a useless point lol
Anna Margarete von Browne
Many of these films say the sonata is dedicated to Haydn but it’s not
1. Allegro molto e con brio - 0:20
2. Adagio molto - 6:11
3. Finale, Prestissimo - 15:03
Such wonderful phrasing and comprehension! Let me tell you…this ain’t easy piece! I am ten and I am working on it and I only got halfway! Daniel Barenboim is such a great pianist! I love his playing very much! 👏🏻💖👍
10 years old o_0?!
…I’m turning eleven on May! 😊 Is there a problem with it? 🤔

@@elainefeng3364 No worries, just helping out. :D
There's an error in the description, Adagio Molto doesn't start at 4:48.
Awesome..
6:10 Adagio
Barenboim is good and we will enjoy this sonata. But how can we thank the absolute genius who conceived and composed it. Because Beethoven is immense. Thank you
