I had the same problem on my Amana which is virtually identical to your Admiral. It wouldn’t drain and was full of water. After watching your video I wanted to blame my wife 😍 and was not looking forward to moving the washer and going through all the steps you did. Fortunately I found out my problem was something different. The lid lock was not functioning properly. After some time on Google I found a solution which may be helpful for others because it certainly isn’t in any of the instruction manuals. To reset the lid lock you unplug the washer for about five minutes, then plug it back in and hold the Start/Cancel button for 20 seconds. After about 10 seconds the machine started draining and has worked perfectly ever since. Thanks for a very informative and entertaining video!
I followed these steps to fix my Admiral washer. Mine is older by an additional 5 years but the steps were very similar. I found that sand was in the pump seizing the pump. I cleaned it all out, rinsed off the inside of the pump, got the propeller to spin without a gritty sand sound and after putting it all back together, wallah, everything worked like new again. Thank you for this video.
This was extremely helpful, my washer wasn't pumping the water out. So I followed this video step by step and turned out it was a sock as well! Thank you!
Thank you sir! I hooked the wet vac hose to the bottom/back of the washer where that hose connects to direct water out of the machine. I did that because I needed to suck the water out before moving the washer to another room. Then bam! Out comes my son's shredded sock. I just ran the machine through a successful test cycle. You saved me money from at least a service call... possibly a new machine! If you have Cashapp or PayPal, I'll send you $10 bucks ASAP as a token of my appreciation.
Thank you so much. This video really helped me. I had to remove all this fluff from a pillow that I had washed😬 I am not a mechanic but this video inspired me to try to fix it myself, and it works fine now. Thanks again!
I enjoyed this video and never thought a sock could jam up the motor. Culprit in mine was a four inch piece of string trimmer line poking down out of the tub that I didn't notice until reinstalling the pump. Same thing happened a few years ago only this time I knew better and thought my pockets were completely empty.
What about if it spins and drains enough to see that the drum is empty, but as you shake the drum you can hear water soothing underneath? The pump is working but not completely draining. Should I still perform this pump removal test?
This was a great help. Had the same thing happen to our admiral washer except it was a scrunchie from my wife or the kids and it made it through the pump and was stuck on the white pvc connecting to it. Thank you so much.
I have an Amana Top Load Washer NTW4605EW0 that rinses and pumps. However there seems to be a little water remaining in the drum beneath the washer tub giving a smell. Is that a filter problem? Is there a video available on how to fix?
Excellent explanation and demonstration of how to replace the drain pump. How did a sock get inside the drain tubing? There are small holes on the wash machine basket.
Thanks! Yeah that sock getting in there confused me too. Those holes are definitely too small. My wife overloads it though so I think it might have jumped up over the side of the drum and fell down maybe. No clue 🤷
You can tilt it back enough against wall if enough room in laundry area of course and put a block or something under for safety and pull pump off that way. If alot of water you will still have to use pump or wet vac to get most of water out. A pan may not hold the water if alot. Maybe not faster just another method I use in repair field
I was thinking the same thing. There has to be some way around into the bottom of the laundry tub. Maybe when the run a very full load and the laundry is near the top somehow? Or maybe somehow it gets under the agitator and there's a way for it to get into the lower tub that way.
quick question. my whirlpool has exact same pump. with machine empty, after remove clothes. do you hear water in drum below agitator upon shaking the nachine? thinking may have to look at debris under agitator or a plugged filter of some kind
thank you, Sir, you know I noticed that when you were moving the machine out of your porch that it is open from the bottom, I will try to access the pump from there first, thanks again!!
Can you tell your wife that I asked for her to make you your favorite meal as a token of my appreciation? This helped me so much and was so simple! Thank you!
I lost my Sh!+ on "pretty sure it was my wife trying to assassinate the Machine" this has to be the problem. I know what im doing this weekend. This is how "fix-it video's" should be. to the point and how to do it. Thanks!
I wonder do you know anything about this my amana washer will do a load and about mid load on the rinse part it locks but it just keeps ticking and doesn't do anything
Mine stops at the rinse cycle like yours, but the pump seems to work fine, I just have to select a new rinse cycle. I replaced the controller, now it does the same thing, but I don't have to start a new cycle, I just have to push the "play" button. It's like it pauses itself, but only after filling for the final rinse. Any idears?
I need to look at my suspension rods. It jumps around and bangs during the spin cycle. How do you get the top off? Thanks for the video. I have the same model.
I have an Amanda top load washer, it looks exactly like the one you have but different style, is Amanda whirlpool, and admiral the same type of washer but different manufacturer?
I have a front load amana washer that will turn on but not start at all, I feel so angry that it stopped working as this is our second washing machine in less than 2 years.
LOL! yeah he's a puggle. his contribution is usually to nudge me and get in the way when i'm on the ground working on something. he thinks ground time is play time. and when he's really trying to mess with me he'll come over and knock the camera over.
I'm gonna get some coffee in me disconnect the washer and go check it out in a hour or 2 hopefully it's just 1 of those half socks lol I will let you know this evening, fingers crossed!
Well 2 hours after watching this my washer is back in the house and running it's first test load no sock in my case but...a broken rusty bra underwire had found its way into the pump thanks for the help. I'm very mechanically inclined but I was just going to buy a new washer figured it was toasted after only 8 years of use
I used a wet dry shop vac to suck the water out of the tank. just had to take the dust filter out first. it took a little while but it was easier than bailing it out with a coffee cup or something lol
Video was made 5 yrs ago .. today in 2024 it just helped me fix my washer .. 8 yrs old still going strong. Thank you Sir.

You don't know how many days I searched for a video for the exact same problem. You've saved me!

That's awesome, glad you got it fixed! And no need to pay me a penny. Knowing I helped out a fellow common man is enough for me.
You are a LIFESAVER my Amana washing machine drained so much faster and spins really fast *clothes were literally almost dry*
Saved my property management $100 and they took it off my rent. Thanks dude!
Thanks for this. We're now best friends for the Futurama reference lol
Thank you so much. This video really helped me. I had to remove all this fluff from a pillow that I had washed😬 I am not a mechanic but this video inspired me to try to fix it myself, and it works fine now. Thanks again!
Hey glad you got it fixed! Thanks for the comment. 😀
Very helpful - looks like this is my project tomorrow. And nice touch with the Futurama clip 😂👍
Thank you for this video! You just saved me from buying a new washer! Quick easy fix thanks to this video!
I enjoyed this video and never thought a sock could jam up the motor.
Culprit in mine was a four inch piece of string trimmer line poking down out of the tub that I didn't notice until reinstalling the pump. Same thing happened a few years ago only this time I knew better and thought my pockets were completely empty.
lol whatchu doin running your weed eater line through the wash my guy 🤣. Just playin. Glad you got it fixed 💪

Love your video! You get down to the nitty gritty without hesitation and i love the pointer arrows.
Thank You, your instructions we're clear and save me a new washing machine...you rock man!!
This was a great help. Had the same thing happen to our admiral washer except it was a scrunchie from my wife or the kids and it made it through the pump and was stuck on the white pvc connecting to it. Thank you so much.
This man deserves a beer 🍺 👏 👌🏾..Good job mate!!,.wifey please give this man a beer or better make it 2 🍻
Glad it helped!
Thanks for sharing, truly ! This just helped me resolve the issue I had with my Amana top loader . 👌🏽
Thank you for your video. I did the same thing on my Amana and found a wire in the pump. Removed it and the washer is working.
Your video is great...simple , quick and easy to understand...ty
I have an Amana Top Load Washer NTW4605EW0 that rinses and pumps. However there seems to be a little water remaining in the drum beneath the washer tub giving a smell. Is that a filter problem? Is there a video available on how to fix?
Same issue. We are going to try these steps tomorrow. Thank you
@@greggbrandon918 I have the same issue... did this solve it?
I found a metal collar stay in my washer’s water pump. Thanks for the video! Saved me a repairman visit.
You're the man dawg.
That dog is adorable man.
Great video...thank you for posting it in RUclips. I am fixing mine replacing the water valve cause it keeps dripping and it quit filling the tub.
No clue 🤷
Informative but also entertaining! I like how your arrows moved with the video image. That took some work.
Hi, I know this is a video for the pump but does anyone know where the filter is on this washer?
I fixed my washing machine, thanks for blessed video.....

How is this possible a sock toget there through the litle holes.

Thank you sir! It ended up being my wife's sock as well! I should have liked the video on the futurama clip alone 😁
These chick socks are washing machine slayers man! Crazy ain't it.
TY for this. I have a very similar model. Hoping a simple sock is the problem. Will find out soon.
Thank you Sir!!! your video was invaluable...the culprit in my case was a bobby pin jammed in the pump impeller.
Lol glad you got it fixed! So far it sounds like it’s always girl stuff clogging up these poor washers! 🤣
Awesome video. I learned how to fix the washer and had some great laughs !
Sweet! Hope it’s the same thing for you. Mine is still running! Not bad for the cheapest washer Home Depot had 6 years ago 😂
Perfect video for exactly what I needed. Found a sock and a backpack strap. Thanks brother...
Fantastic job making this video !!! ... perfect !
your voice is excellent. and you are funny. I'm hoping to find a sock in mine also.
Aye this was actually the problem so happy u posted this video on RUclips woulda been out a couple Hundred almost bought a new one
Awesome video, great editing and great filming! I hope my fix is this easy.
I love your dog 🐶
Dude, great video. Love the futurama cameo.
Thanks for the video. Lead me right to the problem. Bobby pin stuck in the pump.
Sounds like more wifely devilry.
Me too. Bobby pin.
Great video. Loved the futurama clip drop.
Hopefully mine is a simple fix like this. Amana HE washer. Thanks for video!
You're video was the most helpful one on here.
Thank you very much.
thank you, Sir, you know I noticed that when you were moving the machine out of your porch that it is open from the bottom, I will try to access the pump from there first, thanks again!!
Same exact model, same problem~ well done thank you.
Can you tell your wife that I asked for her to make you your favorite meal as a token of my appreciation? This helped me so much and was so simple! Thank you!
Thank you, this was extremely helpful! Except this time it was my sock, not hers.
Saved me a ton as well. Thanks for the video. I have different model but they seem to work all the same
Glad you got it fixed and saved a buck! 👍
Can i get a link of where YOu bought the tools you used
Mine is draining but when I shake the agitator I can hear water sloshing around but no water present in the drum and it starting to drink like sewer
How did you fix yours?
So water does drain out of that hose but when it gets to rinse cycle it doesn't do anything should I still take off the pump?
I lost my Sh!+ on "pretty sure it was my wife trying to assassinate the Machine" this has to be the problem. I know what im doing this weekend. This is how "fix-it video's" should be. to the point and how to do it. Thanks!
Hope your repair goes smooth! Good luck 👍
I wonder do you know anything about this my amana washer will do a load and about mid load on the rinse part it locks but it just keeps ticking and doesn't do anything
It Worked! Great instructions that are very easy to follow. Thank you!
Any suggestions on why my washer doesn't spin
Mine stops at the rinse cycle like yours, but the pump seems to work fine, I just have to select a new rinse cycle. What is the next thing to look at if this wasn’t the problem?
Thank you! I had a quarter stuck in the tube after the pump luckily, you got a.sub.
Thanks bro. Glad you got it sorted out
Straight to the point. Thanks man it really help us out.
1:42, LMAO!
When you encountered this problem and tried to restart the washer did you hear a humming sound?
sorta. i could hear the pump grunting like it was trying to drain but failing.
@@thefiXfiles I was about to ask this question. I think I hear a clicking sound.
Unbelievable...another sock bandit! Thanks
thank you for the video and for your time
how did you cut the lidswitch?
My machine (exact model) leaves about 4 inches of water in the drum after a spin cycle..could a fouled pump be the problem (like yours)??
Thanks for a great to the point and very informative video.
Thanks. Perfect fix.
Man, thank you so much!!! I was able to fix my washer!!!
Thank you so much, this was such an easy fix and saved me from having to buy a new washer!
What if nothing is in the pump? Wouldn't drain and just took it all apart but no blockage
whitesnakemsu our blockage was in the hose
THANK YOU! 😭 I have a washer again!!
Yay for clean clothes! The only thing worse than doing laundry is not doing it!
dose your tube on your amana be loses and should it hold water afteryou spin and drin under the tube
Thumbs up for the Leatherman :)
I need to look at my suspension rods. It jumps around and bangs during the spin cycle. How do you get the top off? Thanks for the video. I have the same model.
thank you! This is exactly what I needed to see - life saver!
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
I have an Amanda top load washer, it looks exactly like the one you have but different style, is Amanda whirlpool, and admiral the same type of washer but different manufacturer?
ok my admiral now isnt not draining and there’s a weird sound underneath plus it was making a weird noise when its spinning
This helped fix our washer!!
awesome. glad to hear it Kristi. stay safe.
You're AWESOME! Thanks
God damnit. I'm so mad I have to take the whole thing out like that. XD guuuuuh!
*rolls up sleeves* solutions are solutions!
Love the edit puns.
That is same thing , my washer not drying it is not spining at sll
I have a front load amana washer that will turn on but not start at all, I feel so angry that it stopped working as this is our second washing machine in less than 2 years.
Thank you so much!!!!! I was able to fix my mom's washer and save her money!!!
Glad the video helped. Good on you for taking care of family. Well done 👍
Thank you for a video that gets to the point! Loved the dog making an appearance and the soch devil. Great and informative video!
I thought for sure this was my problem but I got it all apart and found nothing.
Was it not spinning as well when this happened?
Awesome thank you for posting this video
Come on, admit it! Your beagle/puggle appliance guru was the brains behind this fix!

How you drain the water
I used a wet dry shop vac to suck the water out of the tank. just had to take the dust filter out first. it took a little while but it was easier than bailing it out with a coffee cup or something lol
Very helpful thanks a lot man.
Great job!!
