I resettled my debt with portfolio recovery associates. On the new agreement my middle initial is wrong. What should I do?
If you agreed to something, a middle initial probably won't matter. But if they break the law going forward, you might have some options.
When disputing inaccurate or incomplete information and the bureau ignores or does not complete the investigation, do you guys take those claims? Would you have a claim under FCRA? Do you handle those cases?
If a bureau fails to make the reasonable investigation, that would be an FCRA lawsuit. If you're in Florida and have this situation, give us a call.
If your debt with a bank was written off and then sold to a collection agency? But after 6 months, the bank then inform you that they are no longer associated with that agency and then the collection process is restarted by them. Is this legal?
Yes. It wasn’t “written off” it was “charged off” which is not at all the same thing.

I caused a car accident with no insurance and the insurance company billed me $8000. I set up a payment plan with them and missed payments here and there so I guess they sold my debt ? I’m not sure but I got a letter from another company saying they handle debts for the insurance company and are in charge of getting the money. They sent me two letters though. One for the debt I had and one for a complete other debt that wasn’t mine. Is that a violation of the law? Also, I’m not sure if it’s on my credit report or not but would I be able to get a lawyer at this stage for free to see what my options are?
If a debt collector is trying to collect a debt that’s not yours, they are almost certainly violating the law. You can sue them for that. I don’t have an opinion about the car-accident debt.
@@RWlawFL I have since talked to them and they took the one that wasn’t mine off however they are still trying to get the car accident debt. I just wanted to know if it would be worth it to pay it or try to fight it in court since it’s not with the car insurance company anymore. Thank you for your response. You have inspired me to at least contact a lawyer to see what my options are.

Is a missed call an attempt to collect a debt from a collector?

I sent them a dispute letter and have not had a response. I sent within 30 days CRR. They have called 8 times since they signed for it two mos ago. They call when I'm at work at hosp so I cannot answer.
They called again today while in surgery. And I love your content.
That sounds like a violation-and if they know you're at work that might be another violation depending on some other factors.
I will call your office Monday. I live in Florida. I have been debating sending a cease and desist letter but until they respond and I speak with your firm. I will be patient.
