- Working on insulation with Kilmat for sound and heat the engine cover from motorhome which has a Ford V10 motor. It made it quieter and it does not get warm on the sides anymore.
A lot of thanks to @DownTheRoadWeGo : / @downtheroadwego

How do you think the sound reduction worked after you used it for a few times? Also, did it affect the heat the engine gave off to the cab?
Did it keep the heat out of the cab?
Thank you for showing how to do it i do have a question whats the material you used for insulation and where to purchase it thank you again
Why not just put the kill mat over top of the old insulation?
Good day! Kilmat is primarily a vibration-absorbing material. It is the base layer in the sound proofing process. And a soft layer of thermal insulation (OEM material, PE-foam) is applied on top of Kilmat.
I'd like to use this in my Ford E350 7.3L diesel. Inside the dog house. But it's not fire proof, so I'm worried about that. Your thoughts? My vehicle is a ambulance.
To sound deaden the doghouse, we recommend installing the material from the cabin side and to the floor however if you wish to install it to the engine cover of the doghouse, make sure to install an additional layer of hoodliner material to protect Kilmat from excess heat.
Our materials are not rated as fire resistant but they are not in risk of combustion.
So you can start installing from the cabin side
@@kilmatsounddeadening8261 Thank you 😊
Just a quick question.... I have the same RV and same concerns about the noise. Can you tell me what size and brand of gaskets you bought?
Good day! Kilmat 80 mil 36 sqft was used in this project)/ 34 sheets.
@@kilmatsounddeadening8261 I bought that. I’m asking about the gaskets or weather stipping
Why 2 layers
