Guys, guys... I really like your solos and bluesy playin, you are amazing guitar players etc., etc... BUT, please! Play MORE chords, more riffs, more stoner stuff, if you doin' a demo about fuzz pedals. Cuz these type of pedals is awesome especially for sludge, stoner, dirty genres. Not only for shredding. Thanks and cheers! :)
I buy every pedal without trying it by myself, cuz I live in small Czech town and here in Czech republic, we have only one or two distributors of these types of pedals in higher price range. Especially from Way Huge and other boutique brands. I think, that 80% of pedal nerds buy their pedals online without trying and it's nothing wrong about that. U know, online shopping, 21st century. :) Cheers! :)
It's great that you're using the same guitars for pedal reviews as the viewer can actually compare the tone in different videos, thanks! And that playing was amazing, awesome video!
Is there something better in the morning than having a nice cup of tea listening to Rabea and Pete playing some fuzzy riffs - then grab your guitar crank your amp and give your neighbours a loving welcome to a beautiful grey and rainy day?
Rabea, just a suggestion if you are looking for a fuzz. the Blackout Effectors Special Twosome Deluxe is a great fuzz that does the glitchy square wave fuzz as well as a pretty solid imitation of a big muff if it had a sweepable mids control.
'Conquistador' was the name given to the soldiers and explorers of the Spain and Portugal, who journeyed to other continents throughout the 17th and 18th centuries - most notably to the Americas, Oceania and Africa - in order to secure land, trade routes and resources for their respective kingdoms. As such, they were the main driving force in Spain and Portugal colonising much of the non-European world.
Actually the bulk of portuguese nautical exploration and colony settlement period was in late XV century in Africa, and went on during the XVI century in South America, Africa, Asia and part of Oceania. Just for reference by 1500 we got to Brazil and were all over western Africa. By mid 16 century we were already in Japan and had a taste of the Pacific Ocean and had several trade routes established, whilst the Spanish "just" crossed the ocean to Central/North America. Cheers
I own a Green Rhino mk.2 and I must say it still remains one of my favourite pedals, especially considering that it doesn't come with a boutique price tag.
ArielsSmartyPants if you take away all the bias towards the hot rod deluxe, you might come to realize that modeling Amps are pretty damn close to it. Speaking from experience. Go Supro if you can
The Green Rhino is set to classic, so none of the fiddling with the fine adjustment bass and mid knobs is going to do anything. It still sounds good. Perhaps they address this later on. I'll report back on my foolishness if that's the case.
I have the Swollen Pickle but can't get any tones I really like out of it... Would the Russian Pickle be better? I'm trying to get black keys-esque sounds.
alright im wondering what im doing wrong.... i have a camel toe and a Hughes and kettner grandmiester deluxe 40. i cannot get Good sound out of the camel toe. the volume drops and it turns into crappy distorted fuzz. can anyone help?
QUADROGONG - The circuit is different in that it uses only cascaded gain stages instead of clipping diodes. It uses two gain stages in the CD4049 CMOS Hex Buffer, an IC chip. The "gain" control is just how hard the first stage hits the second stage. "Volume" and "Hi cut" are tacked on at the end. Look up "Craig Anderton Tube Sound Fuzz". The Red Llama is just a slightly tuned version of the Tube Sound.
When America was originally invaded by the Europeans, the Conquistadors were the Spaniards that conquered a good portion of what is now the southern US and Mexico.
One thing that I really wish that all of you would say about the overdrive and distortion/ fuzz pedals is to tell us if there is a noise gate built in the device!
Please, show the guys how to use the controls BEFORE the demo starts! It was painful to watch both Bea and Pete completely miss the point of the Green Rhino's “Classic” switch.
As it's Way Huge's (Jeorge Tripps) 25th Anniversary this year. Will #AndertonsMusic be getting in the Way Huge 25th Anniversary Limited Edition Red Llama Pedal from #JimDunlop believe there are only 1000 being made? - @PeterHonore @TheCaptain
HI GUYS you need to do a show on the ZOO DRIVE[ it has enough switches to fill a whole show]and not a lot of people know about it BUT they should it is just SO FUCK"N GOOD!
What with RUclips's new logarithms, Anderton's probably doesn't dare put the names of two of these in the video title... even though we know it's only gear porn, not the real stuff.
Just some feedback on your opening Andertons TV bit. It features a flickering image and might harm those who suffer epilepsy. Either warn people in advance or change it. I only noticed this today and it reminded me of a friend who's fits are triggered by such flashing images.
Flashing images are a given on the internet. It's a risk you take if you go on the internet. I understand your point, but you should be aware that there could be flashing images when it comes to pretty much anything with a screen.
+AirCommando12 Various browser settings and extensions allow a user to control such flickering in pages: a user has no such control over video content, hence Richard Huckle's point is valid.
Love all your videos since I started watching years ago, And LOVE the new room. But we cant see the amps!, they always end up behind you guys (or Rob&Cap), we are gear whores here, we wanna see the amps you guys are playing trough, not the other two amps on the side for decoration. Move the amps you guys are playing the guitars closer the corners of the room (or camera frame) so we can see them. Or simple switch the dummy decoration amps with the ones in use, so the ones we see in the video are the ones being played
on the internet, in a live band, on a recording etc. . . no one can hear "heavy string gauges", and if they do, they don't sound any better than light ones (ask rev. billy : p) . . . so don't stress your hands. play the gauge you like, that feel comfortable, and inspire you to play
so many fuzz/distortion/drive pedal reviews. how many distortion pedals do you think a player needs to own? ok, not a good question. how many drive pedals do you think an average player will actually use? if the amp has 2 channels then one. if not maybe 2. I honestly can't be the only person out there who still uses chorus or a pitch shifter. still enjoyed it but maybe find some other effects next time.
That being said, you can clearly hear the tonal characteristics, and you are going to buy a $160-$270 pedal without trying it yourself?
I buy every pedal without trying it by myself, cuz I live in small Czech town and here in Czech republic, we have only one or two distributors of these types of pedals in higher price range. Especially from Way Huge and other boutique brands. I think, that 80% of pedal nerds buy their pedals online without trying and it's nothing wrong about that. František Vtelenský Love my swollen pickle for amazing sludge metal tones!!
Usually you can just send stuff back after trying it out with literally no hassle and for free from most bigger european online stores as well.
Also I second that Bea should shoot some sludge our way, cause I know he''s pretty good at it.
Damnit Pete "OH ITS GOT 11s ON IN STANDARD OOOOOH" made me spit my coffee!
To be precise, the Russian Pickle is not a germanium fuzz, they used BC183, which is also discontinued - but silicon.
No one expects a Spanish Inquisition!
Does anyone else think the red llama side of the camel toe sounds quite foo fighters esque ?
I would say these are some of the best sounds you've had, very organic.
It's great that you're using the same guitars for pedal reviews as the viewer can actually compare the tone in different videos, thanks! And that playing was amazing, awesome video!
That Conquistador gave me shivers, what a pedal, I want!!!
Rabea's face when the square wave fuzz did that that perfect triplet splutter at 20:10. I agree.
Is there something better in the morning than having a nice cup of tea listening to Rabea and Pete playing some fuzzy riffs - then grab your guitar crank your amp and give your neighbours a loving welcome to a beautiful grey and rainy day?
The Conquistador full cranked up almost sounds like a broken Korg Miku lulz
Taïs Richard haha, yeah, it kinda does!
20:09 best effect I've heard in a while
Told my mom I bought a Camel Toe and got grounded?
Do you live in conservative Russia?
Could be worse, you could have said that you stepped on a camel toe repeatedly... with both feet.
No, you didn't.
It's because she knows under that Camel Toe is a Big Muff and that's a slippery slope. She just loves you
I would say it's more a slippery tunnel than slope.
Pete. Rabea. Naughty-named fuzz pedals. Hilarity ensues.
I love that conquistador pedal but isnt that going to get lost in the mix? great playing boys
I think its for guitarists who ARE the mix. Two piece bands
Very Satriani-esque phrasing in the intro jam today. Me likey!
Rabea,

+Harrison Stokes You should be less bothered by a comment.
+Harrison Stokes How lovely
+Harrison Stokes Where did the bad man touch you, son?

They also did what white people do best. Take your land, sleep with your women, and force their religion onto you.
That Tele is gorgeous 😍
Did I sense a bit of The Byrds "Eight Miles High" around 2:00?
Oops. Should have been 1:40 onward.
That Red Llama either is your cup of tea or it isn't, and for me it isn't. Dig the Green Rhino side though.
I own a Green Rhino mk.2 and I must say it still remains one of my favourite pedals, especially considering that it doesn't come with a boutique price tag.
I can't play mine at home. Live though it's awesome. I have to turn it up half way to get a good sound.
Ok this demo told me:
1: Buy a Hot Rod Deluxe
2: Buy all these pedals
3: WIN!!
:)
ArielsSmartyPants if you take away all the bias towards the hot rod deluxe, you might come to realize that modeling Amps are pretty damn close to it. Speaking from experience. Go Supro if you can

14 minutes in, Pete flipped the switch, but then immediately switched it back to classic.
Josh Flanagan Josh? From iFanboy? Originally from Maine (like me)? AND you play guitar? As if I could like you guys even more.
All of those things are true. Thanks.
I came here to say this I saw him fiddling with the knobs not doing anything. Rtfm
I have a Conquistador. I can confirm the big goofy grin you get while using it. :D
I'd love to see you guys do a review on some Caroline Guitar Company pedals like the Météore reverb!
SWEET LOL!!!
Man, what sick tones!!!
Love the Conquistador
is that the captains prs? it looks even better than I remembered :O
Talking about fuzz and dirty fuzz pedal names, how about doing a video on the Dr. No Effect's Turd Fuzz?
Fuzz, all you need is FUZZ
How many 'mums are sacrificed to make a geranium transistor?
Wonder why the coopersonic valveslapper isn't on this list
I have the Swollen Pickle but can't get any tones I really like out of it... Would the Russian Pickle be better? I'm trying to get black keys-esque sounds.
Did anyone else instantly hear The Japandroids on the Red Llama circuit at 8:00 minutes in?
The Conquistador sounds a lot like Josh and Troy from Queens of the Stone Age
around 3:30 that was some hott fuzz
and i dont understand what all the fuzz is about
Ty Segall would love the Conquistador
Nice metal fuzz in the morning thanks guys .....come on fuzz pedals equals Hendrix's riffs
holy shit, they all sound fucking HUGE!!
Guys, conquistador is the Spanish translation for conqueror... that's it. BTW, that Conquistador pedal sounds great!
Green Rhino vs Pork Loin vs Saucy Box. Three OD pedals and only enough for one, help me. Thru an AC30 amp.
All killer no filler
Bea's fuzz hand is strong.
review th sterling jp70
alright im wondering what im doing wrong.... i have a camel toe and a Hughes and kettner grandmiester deluxe 40. i cannot get Good sound out of the camel toe. the volume drops and it turns into crappy distorted fuzz. can anyone help?
is a red llama a unique circuit? it seems different, the feel..the eq.. ( from my other drive pedals) does anyone know the topology of the circuit ?
QUADROGONG - The circuit is different in that it uses only cascaded gain stages instead of clipping diodes. It uses two gain stages in the CD4049 CMOS Hex Buffer, an IC chip. The "gain" control is just how hard the first stage hits the second stage. "Volume" and "Hi cut" are tacked on at the end. Look up "Craig Anderton Tube Sound Fuzz". Thnx! Great reply, appreciation!!
When America was originally invaded by the Europeans, the Conquistadors were the Spaniards that conquered a good portion of what is now the southern US and Mexico.
Hubie Huempfner
And everything south, pretty much.
Hubie Huempfner and killed a lot of innocent people, just because they don't believe in the same god, ah and also for gold and silver.
Simon Andrade everyone has to have a hobby
bret you lmao
Simon Andrade too soon ?
Conquistador your stallion stands/In need of company. Props to Procol Harem.
I have a fever and the prescription is more Camel Toe
If they create a variation with fatter tone, can it be called Moose Knuckle?
That would be the bass version with a clean blend. :D
Camel Toe? You gotta be kidding me! :):):)
please do a how to sound like of dead kennedys
I really want to use a Russian Pickle with my bass to get that super chunky stoner tone!
Sounded like Primus at the start.
As it's Way Huge's (Jeorge Tripps) 25th Anniversary this year.
Will #AndertonsMusic be getting in the Way Huge 25th Anniversary Limited Edition Red Llama Pedal from #JimDunlop believe there are only 1000 being made? - @PeterHonore @TheCaptain
a conquistador is/was a spanish/portuquis conqueror the guys who conquered amerika after columbus discovered it! ;-)
HI GUYS you need to do a show on the ZOO DRIVE[ it has enough switches to fill a whole show]and not a lot of people know about it BUT they should it is just SO FUCK"N GOOD!
So basically every Friedman product ever?
If I had a Kraken and someone handed me those pedals i would use them as a doorstop and then turn up the gain knob on the amp. Far better drive sound.
dmwalker24 not better, just different
Conquistador sounds like a kazoo
In Soviet Russia, onion pickle you!
What with RUclips's new logarithms, Anderton's probably doesn't dare put the names of two of these in the video title... even though we know it's only gear porn, not the real stuff.
Every pedal review sets every knob at O, 5 or 10. No one actually dials the pedal in, especially for an overdrive pedal into a dirty amp...

RUSSIAN PICKLE is immense
