Y E S !!!!
It's the first time I'm totally amazed with an amp sound on ANY demo EVER!!!
And it's not even a vintage one!
Wow... That's the stuff!
Thanks guys, you made my evening!
Probably one of the best Andertons demos ever. Great playing, great sounds and some great looking amps and guitars
I think what we're hearing at the beginning is "cone cry," the distortion of the speakers. There's one bend he does that just has this overtone...yum.
That is exactly what he means :).. Sounds SO good....
That's a great term for it. You can really tell they were smitten with this amp. It sounds great.
Please Lee, for God's sake, do an interview with Pete!
That Vibro-King sounds friggin' amazing! No other amps so far have blown me away like this one!!!
If Pete did not buy one I'd be awfully surprised
I love how excited Pete was during the entire video
That amp. That strat. That Pete.
This is one of the best videos i've seen in a while. Your excitement is infectious and made me smile all the way through. We need a Capt. meets Danish Pete!
Great player ---> great guitar ---> great amp = amazing tones. That SRV sound from the strat was beautiful.
Out of the videos of you guys that I have watched, I've never seen you guys so GIDDY over an amp! That thing must have sounded tremendous!!!
There should be a disclaimer that Anderton's is not responsible for any of the side effects that may or may not accompany this amp with bedroom use including but not limited to: Shattered glass, fines/noise complaints from the neighbors, complete and utter hearing loss, and the melting of ones face. haha great as always guys
Pete's opening put a big smile on my face!
This is how my day goes .........
“Right, today I’m going to practice like fk, oh look another video from Andertons, I’ll just watch this first............... I’m just gunna watch that bit again............... ohhh for gods sake I need to get ready to go to work”
Thanks Andertons, it’s your fault I suck at guitar 😉. Thanks for another great video 👍
Oh Andy, so so true!!! Thanks for the laugh. 😄
One of my favorite amps!
That sounds beautiful and glorious! Love it.
> Amps: Pete Townsend uses Fender Vibro-King amps, which are 60-watt (two 6L6s) combo amps with three 10-inch speakers. He runs his amps with a 2×12 extension cab underneath each, and has four stacks: “The front two stacks are used through the show, while the rear stacks are spares.” Apparently he’s been using these amps since 1998. Here’s a quote from the 2003 Fender catalog: “They do exactly what I need. Remember that the first Marshall amps were very close emulations themselves of the Fender amps I first used - and which I asked Jim Marshall to make ‘10 times as loud!’ Today, this rig fills every hall I come across. There are very few products Fender has made - even in bad times - which were ugly. This amplifier is so pretty I have one in my living room next to the expensive furniture. It reminds me why I wanted to play guitar in the first place. I thought I looked prettier with a guitar. I do. But with a Fender Strat and a Vibro-King I’m as cool, as irresistible as James Dean.”
Iv had mine 20 years. Greatest amp I've ever owned. It draws a crowd when played and has shamed other amplifiers.
(Up Date****) yeah I still have it. 8/10/21
My neighbor has one and it was the last amp he sold during a purge. He said it was the most amazing amp he ever had but he couldn’t tune it up at gigs and was tired of the weight.
@@luthiervandros hahaha nobody lets this amp go unless they really had no idea.
R Feramentum no he’s a retired professional. He kept his bf Vibrolux reverb and a mki boogie.
@@luthiervandros I can understand the weight. I use a dolly similar one you use for luggage. Rolls everything right in.
@@luthiervandros I'd really love to hear this amp through an Ox.
Ive played one, most dynamic amp ever. Clean sustain for days room filling sound insanley loud. It will inspire you!!!
Wow.. that tone at the start reminded me of the Beano album so much! Great job guys this was awesome.
I love the amp too, but man, the PLAYING! So good!
I love Pete. He is so passionate about guitars
Thank you
This amp actually has a kind of 'master volume' feature: if you turn the bass, mid, and treble each all the way down, then turn the Volume most of the way up or all the way up, each of the bass, mid and treble pots become VOLUME pots, completely controlling volume levels--even to 'bedroom' status. You may not get the perfect equalization you'd like, but you will be shocked at what you CAN get.
That is the most glorious amp I’ve heard on this channel.
I’m such a sucker for Fender amps. Especially Deluxe Reverbs and Supers.
Upsell opportunity: "Great choice...now would you like an attenuator to go with that?"
You just helped us out with that. Thank you David :-)
It's gotta be the Two Notes Studio with this one.
And 2.8 ohms if I recall. Great amp just too bloody heavy oh... I did gig mine in a pub with an OCD in front of it. Nice
Great job as usual guys ... bought my Vibro-King, sight unseen from Amazon scratch and dent somewhere around year 1999-2000 (so obviously not an anniversary model but finished exactly as your video example) for $900.00. Anyway, when it arrived the damage was a 1/8" scuff in the tolex under the back right corner. To this day that amp is fantastic and delivers the range of tones that you described and then some ...
MrEhf111 lucky bloody you!!
That Strat the Captain and Pete are playing tho...Stunning
"I'll tell you that story another day" PLEASE LET PETE HAVE STORY TIME OF ALL HIS OLD SHENANIGANS
AWESOME!!! THX for this video. This amp sounds like a pretty decent foundation for pedals 😍
You guys should show video from outside the studio when you shoot these clips, so we can see how loud these buggers get!
That amp has everything to give.. Damn near perfect for a large club or concert amp.
I think that’s the best sounding amp I’ve ever heard. Period.
The best blues amp I have ever played. One of the warmer offerings although that strident tonè in tbe beginning was not the best representation of how that amp sounds. You turn it up but keep you guitar volume down and never passed 8 and 1/2. It's a guitar. Amp that gets the sound of the guitar but is always articulate. It is the most dynamic Fender Amp and never gets a shitty distortion, always articulate, and works great with boost and sounds great with a Les Paul. SG, Strat and Tele
WoW! What an amp! Great demo 👍
Sounds amazing
looking good and sounding good! ordered a cabinet from andertons all music sites were out of stock yet instock online ( unprofessional) except! low and behold these talented guys! ty andertons will return to buy again
Captain meets Pete please!
That amp distortion was beautiful. I would never be able to achieve enough volume to do this amp and myself any justice. For those that can, enjoy.
Ir breaks up really fast.
I had to turn the volume down on my phone for this video LoL! Great video!
That opening riff killed
I'm drooling.....lol
Been there, done that
I LOVED the intro 🎸🎸🎸
Pete is so excited in this😂😂😂😂. IT’S FUCKING AWESOME!!!!
What an amazing amp.
To get overdrive without blowing out your eardrums, turn all tone controls to 1 and volume to 8. Then slowly turn the mid or the bass tone up. Having the fat switch on helps. Put a tube screamer in front for plexi rage.
One of the amazing tricks on the VK is to roll the bass/mid/treble controls all the way down and crank the volume. Then start to bring the the tone controls back up as sort of "master volume" to get that cranked Marshall sound at the right volume. 😎
Oh my goodness. I WILL own one of these some day
fender amps are really the best , they are totally voiced for the guitar to flatter the sound of the instrument and with modern gain pedals you have most bases covered (jazz ,rock, blues, etc )
Wow! Sounds better than anything to me.
Alan Haynes plays a 60 strat through a vibro king. AWESOME!!!
Luv this demo. Always dreamed of owning 1 of these. This may b just the deal for me. Have to save money for a load box 2 go w this it seems. 😬
Great amp! Have had mine since 1996 and it kills almost any other boutique amps I own (Morgan, Pure Sixty-four, Sommatone). You can get great juicy cleans at lower volumes. I rarely turn up over 3.....another thing I did was have an amp tech install a negative feed back loop for more head room for tonal variation, as it breaks up early (negative feedback loop gives the VK a more Fender Twin like response). One of Fender’s best amps aside from a BF Deluxe Reverb, which is my other go-to amp.
Yeah same here but got the Tonemaster that I run a 4/10 or an old Vox 2 12 I'm not a big fan of reverb but your's has the 3 knob reverb like a tank Better than these reissue IMO but still a great amp
VK bridges the gap between Fender and Marshall SO so well. A Fender legend that not many know about. Damn I hope they were wearing ears!
Now that is a great sounding amp. Before you sell them all you should do a kemper profile and another comparison.
Vibrato is wobbly pitch (higher-lower) and tremolo is wobbly volume (loud-silent). However (on) most hardware (it) is called the other way around.
that P bass in the back is so gorgeous
pete wants it , he should buy it XD
They should just give it too him. I am sure he has earned it many times over by now!
Fun video! Way too much amp for me, but it sounds great and you guys seemed to have fun making it!
Always wanted one of these. I just don't have the venue or back to carry it😂
From 14:35 on that sound is heavenly, perfect, not enough words to describe actually....
Ronnie Wood uses two of these on stage. Amazing tone!
MY DREAM AMP! NOW I JUST NEED MY DREAM PAY RISE!
Until this fateful day only the capt's wife had heard him squawk like at 11:10
+Krish Patel 😬
- " I've been the Captain "
- " And I am just amazed "
:-D
In 1996 I had a choice, either spend my money on a Vibro-King or lend that money to my future wife to travel to England to live with me.... I chose poorly.. I should of bought the amp. #truestory
The captain meets danish Pete, 6 part mini series coming soon on Andertons TV.
I think Pete's going to buy 2 of these himself!!!
Excellent amp
Great Amp, Great Shirt - I'll have one of both please - - - -
Really great commercial! Very informative
Did anyone ever see the limited edition Tequila Sunrise finish versions of these Vibro-Kings? Beautiful looking amps those but still heavy as all get out. My back could never cope with carting a Vibro King around.
I have one of these from the 90s and like most owners of these amps have a bit of a love/hate relationship. It's almost too piercingly loud and heavy to take out anywhere - baffles and/or facing it backwards is a must in a small venue. Pete Townshend and others who use them rarely put the volume much above three or four and often use an extension cab to fatten up the sound and offset the high frequency spike that is causing the Captain to wince. These are also notorious for a ticking sound in the tremolo that I think I even faintly heard in this demo - regardless of the tube driving it on the amp, a trem pedal works and sounds better. My Marshall JVM410 into the AHW 4x12 cab with a good reverb pedal nails most of the same tones and is much more versatile and has way more listenable distortion and smooth bottom end. But the tube reverb on the Vibro is solid and it does do some cool surf stuff. With a JHS @ in front and a good delay in the loop it sounds pretty damn good. Plus it looks great in the guitar room and has cool details like the oxblood cloth and hand forged Fender logo, so for now it stays...
It’s heavy. As all get out
I agree with Pete. It might be a REALLY loud pub gig, but what the heck. The drummer would go: Damn, can't hear my cymbals hehe. In the studio, full throttle anyhow!
man it would sick if you guys did a video for the 59' bassman reissue, such a classic amp :)
My rig is a VK atop a VK 2x12 and a 90s Bassman RI. I think that's all I'll ever need
Clapton used Fender Vibro King on "one more car, on more rider" tour, it's on DVD..
What happened with you at Uk, Guys? The ghosts of loudness are haunting you there? First, I saw Mike and Dan pushing a Marshall 50W to the limit. After I saw that guitcom test video about a 100 plexi crancked up to 10. Now you squeeze those Vibroking's 6l6 electrons through the Jensen... I can hear you from here (Brasil). Damn, how I wish to be there...Cheers...
Gary Clark amp! The amp!
1995: I saw Don Peris of the Innocence Mission make the greatest sounds out of a Vibro-King. I’ve wanted one since
If the vibro king was around when SRV was, he most definitely would play one.
I own a VK, no amp come close.
And I've owned many amps over the years.
Great guitar sounds out of that amp. It's still fairly pricey, but I think it's worth it.
The first video where you can actually get a “sense” of the volume”! Wow!!
Also first time I’ve seen a full rosewood neck strat
Bugger, now I'm in love with that strat and the 335.......... the amp is great too but a bit quiet for me............... 😁
From the manual:
"A. INPUT 1 - Plug your guitar in here.
B. INPUT 2 - A lower impedance and sensitivity input than input 1, useful for guitars with active pickups. NOTE: Input 2 may also be used for chaining multiple amps together. With your guitar plugged into input 1, insert a cord in the number 2 input and connect the other end of the cord to another amplifier. The number 2 input now acts as a Y jack sending the guitar’s input signal to another amplifier."
I can play mine on 4 and it's not too loud.
at what point does he use the built-in '63 tube reverb circuit? That's my main interest in this amp
Danish Pete is killing me! Hello I’m Max. I’m on!
Pete’s the man
Wow that sounded amazing. But having heard one before around 3 your heads must have been rattling that close to it at 10!
0:45 seconds into the video and I'm like YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I'm a Strat man ..But that Gibson into that Fender Amp Gorgeous Blues or what ?
Kevin McVann Especially that Bonammasa bit. I'm weak at the knees!
"It's so loud! Let's tilt it back so it pointed right at our heads!" Haha, seriously though, it sounds great.
I just got a Peavey Vintage 4/10” (100 watts) and play it with the master on full and the volume on 1 1/2 or two before it’s into crazyville! But Peavey’s are no where near as loud as Fender amps.
Coming soon to Andertons TV! Pete and The Captain learn sign language.
Now I know why Joe B. does his dials on his Fenders like that, pure Bliss :-)
Best sounding bedroom amp video, please.
This might help ruclips.net/video/nKPIZBdqBK4/видео.html
Haha I just noticed that I've already watched it. I've watched to many of your videos to remember. Thanks anyway!
Eric Gales would be proud of your " eeeh " " oooh " " ahhhh " 's DEM FEELS noises!
Please demo the Ernie Ball St. Vincent guitar! Can't believe yinz haven't done it yet. Her new album just dropped.
John Danek Totally agree - it looks like an incredible guitar.
how loud was that strat when tuning, was that just the camera mic?
Perfect bedroom amp .... teehee 😀
I actually have one that I play in one of my rooms. Can't go past 2 when my wife is at home, but it's F'in awesome when I do.
I Dont care if I get tinnitus as long as the last thing I heard was a fender vibroking cranked
I want one soo much. I wonder if they’ll have them in Australia. Under $5000 will be the thing?? Love my Fender tube amps and a secret orange special 2009 edition in white. Number 3 of 246. Joe Bonamassa I’m sure I’ve seen few of these in his collection.
Well, if you wanted to get your Freddie King on this'd be a good choice! :)
