Leigh, even if you started doing something random, like exploring haunted houses, we would still watch, haha. Travel footage might be off brand, but it’s still you!
Literally going to start a fan account for your hair
I’d follow
I film all my trips and experiences outside of everyday life and make art inspired by it. I call these little videos "Postcards" because they are like postcard I can send to my friend and revisit whenever nostalgia hits :D
Oh I like that!!
This travel vlog+inspo art feels like it could be my fav video and I can’t wait for part 2 :)
Aaaaa thank you 🤠
“making it to the end of the video” like it all wasn’t *quality*. the trip footage, the picture-in-picture where you’re flipping through your mini sketch book, the art, your painting shirt story. loved it 💛. also loving the possibility of a bonsai painting soon
Love the fresh vibes of this video! Truly one of my favs you've ever made. 💕
Wow thank you 🥺
What's not to like about art inspired by a vacation! Looking forward to part 2. A++ 😊
Astoira is one of my all time favorite places and you drove past my grandparent's old house and I teared up a little! I'm driving out there tomorrow. Thanks for the travel vlog!!
Bleached hair - flawless, radiant, best decision anyone´s made in 2022 thus far.
Video format of travel + painting - flawless, radiant, best decision anyone´s made in 2022 thus far.
There is nothing more relatable than purposely putting more paint on your painting shirt😂
Really enjoyed this video!💛
"it's not about trying hard, it's just about like doing it... and like ha, doing it and then ha, I mean that's it." - Leigh
Thank you for the inspiration, I now no longer have artist block because of these wise words.
I enjoyed the style of this video! The traveling + the art make for really good vibes!
Agreed 👼
Love your hair. The Japanese gardens were gorgeous and totally my zen vibe. Mount hood and the trails are also gorgeous.
Great to see Allie again. You two have such a fun time together it is lovely to see. Top marks for the new do as well.
i know it's frustrating to not meet your goal on a hike but! the successful hike is the one where you make it home safely :) always better to turn around if you are not prepared. safety first and all that
I hope my chacos made it safely to a new home 😤
I think this is my favourite video you've put out! I just liked seeing your thoughts and process when creating art. and the videos from the trip were amazing!
I've only just started watching (well, 10 mins in) and I love this style of vlog! xx
I’m glad!! I really like it too 🥹
you talked about going to portland blind and it made me think about how i moved to Portland completely blind to go to school up there. like i knew another, had never been, got my apartment p much blind, and it was such a fun experience. I had no expectations for myself or how it was gonna go, i spent my first month there going to different coffee shops and filling a sketchbook spread, i loved it. the pandemic definitely changed things for me and made it harder to get out, but seeing that you went to the oregon coast, popped into washington, and went around the rose gardens and stuff made me so happy :) I moved back home last year and this video just makes me wanna go back and experience it the pnw again
Yes Chaco's suck, I love teva's though so much more comfortable!
Always cool to see a creator you follow online come to places you live, glad you enjoyed Oregon!
I would love to see you're daily routines involving daily tasks, health, and meals. I feel like you have a great balanced lifestyle as a creative. I get into 7 hour art cram sessions and then art block. following with my sleep schedule going out the window :-(
omg Leigh, all the shots were SUPERB!!! I kept gasping at the colours and nature woah. Loved it, I want your camera.
The Goonies is my favorite movie!!!! AH!!
haha I thought your shirt looked like someone tries to make it messier! I did a similar thing to my tool bag because I just started an electrical apprenticeship and my bag looked so green, so I purposefully made it dirtier 😂
I looooved watching and discovering your process of creation. It made me feel like anything is possible. THANK YOU !
I'm so glad!
The fish are my favorite part!
i would LOVE to see more "off brand" stuff!! it's real life and i love seeing those parts of any youtuber's life no matter if it's art, lifestyle, or whatever!
The slide down the chair due to hunger & the realization that you need to walk home to seek snacks is THE most relatable moment 😂 Also your hair is terrific. Very Annie Lennox vibes ♡
Thank you! Hahaha I’m always sliding around in my chair hahaha
those sketchbook pages are great memnories to have!
the lighting and colors in the first shot is gorgeous
I am someone who does vlog/art content and travel content - not to quite the same scale - and honestly your travel stuff still feels very 'you', just by virtue of your eye and how you choose to edit things. I do have an idea of doing a self portrait which is "me on my travel vlogs" (where I embrace the Ghibli Vibes and slower edits) to me in Vlogs (far more chaotic).
But this was so nice to see, the wonderful friendship vibes and the slower more compositional stuff all put together. And creating art at the end of it that doesn't HAVE to be a landscape or directly from the holiday has been a big inspiration. I'll see if I can do anything like that based on my holiday.
Anyway, look forward to seeing more of your travel stuff alongside your regular vids!
sometimes you need a little bit of adventure to get inspired and make new things!!! its part of the art-making process! : )
This is for sure one of my fav videos everrr
Thank you! I really like this one too
Loving the short hair. You wear it well. Keep doing you. People do change and that's organic and natural and real. So feel confident to keep flowing with whatever is working for you. This has inspired me to leave the house more and even make travel plans. Keep it coming. Love from Australia 🦘. Rachelle x
Leigh is slowly turning into a ray of sunshine ☀️
Love your art.🎨 Love your vibe🧠, xoxo from Poland 🤗
that deer buged my mind 7:25
Feeling so inspired, both by your videography and the art you made on your trip. Thank you for sharing
Thank you 🥺🥺🥺
This half hour went by so quick :)) thanks for sharing your travels and, as always, your art
So glad you liked it!!
@@LeighEllexson always!
This was such a beautiful video!! I loved it! So glad you were able to have a nice break 🥰
The different voices in this video makes my day!
So inspirational! Thank you for sharing!
My favourite fish is the green spotted pufferfish (i think that’s the correct name) they are so tiny and cute! I am so in love with your piece! I am glad that travelling is bringing you so much inspiration. It is truly a rejuvenating thing, and I hope you get to travel more in the future! 💚
Oh yes I think I’ve seen one of these cuties on tik tok
Loved this video! It was so nostalgic for me because I grew up in Portland.
Aww, love seeing you on my side of the country. We love Cannon beach. Ecola state park, is stunning. Portland isnt what it used to be, but hope you had a great time.
I love peaks and pits here! I really love this mix of trip stuff and art stuff is cool 😎
This is such a relaxing vlog! I love your fish vase sketch! The bleached hair suits you😊
Me agreeing with you while you’re asking if your composition ideas make sense
I AM IN LOVE WITH THAT KOI VASE!
loooove the new hair!!! & omg, I want to go to the northwest so bad! :D
Thank you!! It is beautiful there 😍
love it, what a sparkling gem. looking forward to the NY video 💚
Yasssss take me on vacation with you. Also, loving the inspired art. Going to see something and then painting/drawing it exactly is kind of expected, and you would have to make it really unique to lose some of the mundane factor.
I still have my art smock from elementary school too and mine was also my dads 😃
I like the idea of the travel vlogs and then the art creation inspired by the trip! I often feel inspired to create but struggle with the create what 🤦🏾♀️ I’m sure it’s overthinking but still I struggle haaaaard.
So glad you enjoyed the magic of the pnw! It comes through in the footage ✨
Your hair looks sooooo good!! Love the video and the vibe!!
Thanks so much!
Love the travel art video. Can’t wait to see part 2!
Your vids just stay with you, kinda like good chocolate, especially this one. Ty 🙏🏼❤️
Thank you 😳 I love chocolate
so cute sketches!
Loved this video! If you made a video where you're just peeling potatoes I'd probably watch it tbh ✌💛
So so so 😍 beautiful. Great travel footage and great artwork!
Loved the vibe of this! Thanks for sharing
This was great Leigh! I loved your portland images, it’s so beautiful there. Your friend is really funny too
Loved this new format, also awesome hair!
Glad you like it!
this interlude is one of the best sunflowers i have ever seen.
stereotypes in art are for loosers.
looove seing ou work like that on a biger piece. you're were trying so hard to explain your ideas and I was like, ''I get it so much don't you worry''
I love this! My two favorite things… art and traveling!
Gorgeous!! The end piece and Leigh!! 😆
👼❤️🔥
stunningly gorgeous
Thank you !
The homework assignment part cracks me up. Also, really beautiful video, love you shared that wonderful place 💚
Hahah thanks!!
Hi yes, love this style of video and hope to see you travel to more places closer or farther that inspire you to make work and share your experience
You look so stunning and beautiful !
LOVE the piece and cute clip of your vacation
This video was sooo great!
i loved so much this kind of video. you can make more if you feel like.
its very inspired and cool. thank you for sharing. best wishes. Aiwara
So chill and thank you for making me want to get off my booty to get an easel
This was absolutely beautiful!!!!🤯🤯🤍❤️
I just used your code for Pela! I am so excited to get my case!
I’m very inspired by some of the film shots you took at the botanical gardens! May I paint your experience?
Please!
Beautiful
Alright well, fav fish….probably either a koi or some type of butterfly fish.
Какое прекрасное видео💕
I will watch this a lot thanks
Hehe thanks Ricardo
I feel so reassured that Chaco's suck now. I got them in men's sizing and they are still too narrow and cause blisters on the sides of my feet. How are they so popular?! They don't even have good enough grip for hiking. I do wish I could dump them as well, but they were so expensive. Thank you for your confirmation on why Chaco's suck.
I got mine from a sample sale so there were discounted PLUS the discomfort they gave me made them worthless HAHA
cool art
Not my fave but blood-red parrot cichlids are so cute in person, the pics on google dont do em justice😤
Fave fish is a whale shark and sun fish! Sorry, had to pick two 🙂
Totally acceptable 🎏
I definitely also used to think I had to get messy in order to be a "real artist"
Leigh PLEASE could you tell me the brand name and color of this periwinkle blue pastel at 28:23 . It is a such a dream, I have been looking for one just like it!!!
more airbender please
💗💗💗
🎀😍🎀
like it.total great uploading~ 🖐
Can you add a link for your podcast please? ✨
I live in Portland!
💪🥰
awesome share wow my friend thanks 👍
I know this video is old, but do you paint with acrylic in this video or gouache ? So pretty💕
Cool vid 👌 love it and your art ones. How can you be "off brand" when your channel is about you. So whatever you want so be it 👍 thanks for sharing 😊
Love your hair love the artwork love all round I guess 💜👌😘
What paint do you use? Is it acrylic? It just seems to go on so smoothly
I’m using gouache for this painting!
@@LeighEllexson thank you! ill have to use it more :)
