This means that there were the standard shifts the first run where there is a dip in torque creating the "fart" noises. The 2nd run was in AMAX mode where there is no torque dip during the shifts and it makes no "fart" noise. My car sometimes doesn't like to go into AMAX when I launch. It happens every so often and sadly it happened on these runs. The tuning is exactly the same, before and after the install.

Thanks for this! The IE midpipes are most likely my next mod but there is very little content with them. Originally I wanted a Milltek cat-back but at $3k it's just not worth it when the resonator delete is so much cheaper.
Love the B9 3.0T sound! Running catless with a res delete, my sq5 sounds like a beast! I think with the IE HFCD, car will sound even better! Also IE doesn’t have crackles files anymore, crackles turn on automatically in Sport/Dynamic with their V1.1 Ecu files.

One thing I noticed from the OEM vs IE was on the shifts. OEM sounds like S4 is farting, where its not heard with the IE. Looking forward to hearing them in person

Would you recommend this for a Audi A6 C7. I've been looking at pipes for awhile now and I'm thinking Red Star Test pipes with O2 spacers. I.E Down Pipes and a ECS Xpipe to delete the rear Resonaters but keeping the rear mufflers. What is your take on this kind of set up?

Maybe you are running different tunes between the OEM and IE pipes? Because that ignition cut between shifts is gone after installing the new pipes. Unless somehow it changed the sound so much you can't hear it anymore. I always liked that fart noise. I think it started with the VW GTI when they came with the DSG transmission.

Need some advice. 2018 s5 sportback, want to make it louder. Don’t have the funds for a stage 2 tune and downpipes at the moment. What would be your best suggestion to make it sound better as well as louder with a 1,000$ budget (minus the midpipe, cause I’m most definitely getting that)

@Stephew.Vilayphanh from what I've seen, the $200 mod you're referring to is where you have to cut and weld pipes meaning you can't just put the car back to stock after. Not only that, it'll cost you more in labour to install. These are a direct bolt on replacement where you can install and then remove freely. It's all in the details and why it's important to do your research before purchasing hardware.
Definitely sounds better. The EA888 sounds like S when you do anything to the exhaust so I am jealous. Also, I noticed you got into launch control with the midpipe run so no DSG farts vs the stock run. The farts are the best part. :(
@@emirh.9376 I personally wouldn't go catless on my daily. On some cars it makes them too loud in my opinion. I was forced to go catless on my B8 S4 and I ended up putting in some extra large resonators to compensate for how loud it made the car.
@@VancityAudi The cold start is pretty rowdy but honestly the daily driving is noticeably better without being obnoxious. My wife does complain a bit about me smelling like gasoline if I have the windows down though lol
Definite improvement! I did the same mod on my RS3 as my only exhaust mod (so far before I do downpipe), and with the valve open is wonderful. just enough without being too much.
HAH dealing with the same thing on my end, im stock cat back so all you hear is my tires buzz down the strip 😂. sounds good man! making me check out some exhaust work for my S3 lol

Now that same car is 70 plusany ways I have a high HP 300zx Don't need a drag car.. just wondering what I can do to the 2.0 .... does it sound good with exhaust... can you get nice power with ECU can you get nice power with just bolt on. Etc. Also.... I can get an S5 and sell the A5 for more than I paid. Just don't know where to start Say this. I absolutely love the A5 iv never ever got more compliments on a car And iv owned some nice cars

This would be considered preventative maintenance, over time, when your motor mounts start to wear, the mid-pipes pull on the catalytic converter, and when those mid-pipes fail to pull out the downpipe, you're in big trouble. Not just for sound :)
@@VancityAudi It's not my job or motive to convince you, just sharing my experience of 15 years having owned and maintained vag cars, and working as a tech in shops. The downpipes and the midpipes location has not changed in a very long time. Ask your mechanic, if they are well versed in 3.0Ts they can better articulate this known issue for you.

I find that exhausts tend to be wastes of money. A whole lot of stupid, annoying sound with no performance gains, for WAY too much money

I was in Dynamic/Sport and there were no crackles as you could tell. I think they are only enabled on Stage 2 software.
Could you upload an audio clip of your S5? I have the CTS catalyst on my 20' S4 and I'm hesitant about doing the midpipes.

Of course not. Those are near the rear mufflers.
Main plus for me is that the IEs seem to delete those stupid shifting farts - did I hear that correctly? How is highway cruising? Any droning noise?

Car failed to go into AMAX mode on that run, that's all. That's why there were no farts.
Amax mode is like little bit clutch slip, i tought no farts in amax mode

Getting to the bolts on the downpipe sucked. My tech is super experienced working on Audi's and VW's so he makes it look easy.
