CSX Train DERAILMENT Clean-up (1/30/2018)

CSX Q602 derailed at approximately 6:45a.m. 1/30/2018 in Quincy, FL. It was a SB train headed in to the CSX Tallahassee Subdivision, which CSX has put up for sale along with nearly 330 miles of track in Northern Florida. Thankfully nobody was hurt and crews were able to get to work removing the wreckage and debris. The train was transporting adipic acid, a white powdery chemical that spilled with the derailment. Hazmat crews were deployed to inspect and secure the area of any hazardous material. Led by a GE ES44AH CSX # 3159, the undamaged front half of the train continued its journey safely into Tallahassee, FL.

A great video even though I hate it when railroads have accidents. It’s amazing how quickly the railroad crews are able to get the situation back to normal. 👍🚂

Walter Ryan the crews were able to successfully remove the wreckage and repair the tracks yesterday. Trains were running normally through the route this morning.
