While writing the 'Hallelujah' chorus Handel's servant discovered him with tears in his eyes, and he exclaimed, “I did think I did see all Heaven before me, and the great God Himself seated on His throne, with His company of Angels.”

As a Metal (death, heavy, thrash) fan and player, classical music (my fav is baroque) is the mother of all genres and I will always love and respect it. Thanks Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Chopin, Handel, ... :)
But Baroque isn't the mother of all genre. Medieval music is more of a mother than Baroque because Baroque is a consequence of it.
Same. I love neo classic metal (Blackmore/Malmsteen) etc and Power Metal and we owe a lot to the Baroque composers.
Heavy metal bro ! ))
Baroque is my favourite too! There is something regal about it! I love singing and playing the flute - try to play and sing as much baroque as possible!
Chopin, Beethoven and Mozart are not baroque composers. But I agree totally with you!
If this man only knew...he'd never believe we'd be listening to and loving his work literally hundreds of years later...
💙
My Lady, he wrote praises to God. He knew that a trillion years after his passing that his work would live on in His heart. ❤😊

@MicheleLiveAndInColor ... An atheist myself, so I rather agree with your original sentiment. Quite what Handel 'knew' is open to speculation. Sorry, @Monke-bk7rm ...
♥️
That's classical music, it is the only kind of music the moth of time cannot destroy, because it's divinely inspired by God. All other kinds of music, apart from classical and Hymns will only last for a certain period of time no matter how many generations may enjoy listening to it but it will pass whilst classical music will always be liked and loved by generations yet unborn.
Pity people without music in their lives...
Handel....music of angels
This music is a sheer harmony, peace and joy. It makes you feel like you're soaring like an eagle over high mountains, blue rivers, green pastures... Hendel's music is a pure bliss
From the book The Spiritual Lives of the Great Composers:
George Frideric Handel (1685 - 1759)
‘A servant of Handel swings the door open to Handel’s room. The startled composer, tears streaming down his face, turns to his servant and cries out, “I did think I did see all Heaven before me, and the great God Himself.” Handel had just finished writing a movement, which would take its place in history as the Hallelujah Chorus.’
Handel became a ransomer for other debtors in prison. One of his biographers declared:
Messiah… has fed the hungry, clothed the naked, fostered the orphan… more than any other single musical production in this or any country.
Lord Kinnoul once congratulated him on his fine performance, to which Handel replied:
My lord, I should be sorry if I only entertained them. I wish to make them better.
Haydn, Bach, Mozart and Beethoven all considered Handel the greatest composer ever and they said:
He is the master of us all.”
Haydn about Handel
Handel is the greatest composer that ever lived.
Beethoven about Handel
And when he referred to an edition of Handel’s works he said: “There is the truth.”
[Handel] is the only person I would wish to see before I die, and the only person I would wish to be, were I not Bach.”
(Bach about Handel)
To which Mozart exclaimed:
Truly, I would say the same myself if I were permitted to put in a word.
But what was Handel’s response to all this adulation? In 1759, whilst receiving a rapturous ovation after his last performance he cried out:
Not from me… but from Heaven… comes all.” And as he was nearly blind and ailing he expressed his desire that he would die on Good Friday “in the hope of rejoining the good God, my sweet Lord and Saviour, on the day of His resurrection”. He died on Easter Saturday.
Handel is buried in the graveyard of Westminster Abbey next to another Christian, the writer, Charles Dickens. Above his grave are the words: “I know that my Redeemer liveth.”

If I recall what I've read correctly, Handel was Beethoven's musical hero. Not a bad endorsement.
@@alcopersino7855 Don't know, but it was Haydn (I think) who was Beethoven's early mentor.

Händel is the most exuberant baroque composer ever !
His music will last for ages !
There is a sense of sheer elemental power in some of the music of Handel (sic) that is rarely matched by any other composer.
His music will last for ages, exactly as all of the other famous classical composers, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Paganini, Lists, Tchaikovsky ecc...
Sorry for any mistake, I'm Italian
G.F.Handel music is the best between the best! His music inspires, make you relax, cures your thought and mind. It makes your inner soul travels to the infinite and brings peace to this trouble world! He might be playing his music to the Angels!

I've lived in the inner city All my life- it has always been a refuge for me the ancient instruments blending comforts me - like R&B too.
Handel's music fills my soul with exuberance, solitude and spiritual awareness. In my opinion his compositions are perfectly suited for me and how I hear the world around me. His music cuts through the ugly noise of present day music and the culture that has evolved from those who cannot hear, see or feel.

Anyone hating on any genre of music does not understand the context in which it is meant to be enjoyed. I rest my case.

My world is surrounded by pop music, reggae, rock n roll, Zook Machine and many more. However this is the most wonderful, graceful, and extraordinary music I have ever admired and heard in my entire life. It helps me to think clearly, it relieves me from stress, heartache, and headache. This is real music
Beethoven said he was the best of the best. And Beethoven is the best, so, he's gotta be right
I can not explain why, but Handel's music always inspires me to connect with God. It fills my heart with praise, and I find myself smiling before one half of any piece is completed! Hallelujah!

It's 2015 and I love Handel's music. He would be happy right now knowing that we all appreciate his works. If only he was still alive. I wish I could go back in time.

How this does not have more views is beyond me! Mozart said “Handel understands affect better than any of us. When he chooses, he strikes like a thunder bolt.” On the other hand, to Beethoven he was “the master of us all… the greatest composer that ever lived. I would uncover my head and kneel before his tomb”. I've always considered Handel top 3 IMO. Such beauty and honesty in his master pieces.

My favorite composer!!!! It's a shame that many of his operas have been lost. Thanks for uploading this. And I'm sure that up there in the great opera house in the sky George Frederick thanks you too!
Bernard Ignatius Grayson Never lost , just missing ., waiting to be found .
Oh man that's a tragedy 😢
There is a rich resonance. Handel has always been on my 'A' list!
I am so loving these puns!! Tears rolling down my cheeks, you are all so imaginative!! 😂😂😂😂
Vielen dank...Händel das ist richtig gute Musik💓💓💓💓💓💓
This music makes my heart happy. I must have lived another life during this period. I trust others can make sense out of this comment. Such emotion in this music, it's undeniable.
hi
Others can, brother. Please count me among them.
Been pumping myself with Händel's Hallelujah music.
I understand. I agree. I am so drawn to this period!
Handel, is by definition how to get comfortably into a wonder world of Classical. Cheers.
Very good definition of classical music
when asked who he considered to be his favorite composer Beethoven said: Handel is the greatest ablest composer to have ever lived; to him I bow the knee
Merci....pour tout, mes premières années, avec votre musique
My uncle and I listened to this dude while we painted landscapes up in the mountains in Mexico where it was all green and pretty. :3
Alice x Hearts sounds fun, where you guys watching broke back mountain by any chance ?
Sounds really cool
His father didn't want him to become a musician-composer first.. Imagine that. ALWAYS do what you feel like you have to do !!!!!
You mean, always listen to your parents... and do the opposite!
This world would be sad without Händel's music
As Bruce Lee used to say, everyone is UNIQUE.. everyone can do something that no one can do better then you. So dont copy others just be your self, EXPRESS YOUR SELF. It is UNIQUE!
I am a family man.. a soccer coach, business owner.. overachiever. I LOVE Handel. Gets me centered. beautiful music, creativity.
I put this video to my playlist for a while ago but I didn't know how much it's beautiful. Handel's pieces are great. His pieces give me peace. Sometimes it makes me cry. 😔
Pure genius, I am unable to express how magnificent the mans work Is.
No hay nada mejor que está música
He keeps Baroque in my heart with this type of music.
I respect this guy because is one of the first opera writers. 20th century operas are so close to us and thats why I like oldest classic and baroque.
Werkelijk möoi mijn Componist. Handel!!
Su música es tan inspiradora, emocionante y se disfruta para acompañar cualquier actividad , cocinar, leer, manejar, regar, soñar despierto, estar en un museo, comer , pintar, cocer, dibujar, y sí también hacer el amor ♡
Handel is the best! awesome
This music reflects the opulence of the Baroque period like no other.

This is so good. Nowadays electronic music rules, but this kind of music will never die.
Rules? It rules uncultured people, yes.
This kind of music is Western culture at its finest and most sophisticated, when art was actually art, and our culture and peoples mattered. Glory to the West! May she rise once again and finer than she ever was before! For the glory of God!
Ah, Haendel. That wonderful English composer, Master of the King's Music. Brilliant.
@Jeb Clem Most Britons are if you think about it.Least to say their royalty.
A banquet of glorious music for the soul.

47:52 would have to be the sweetest and most somber work of handel. I mean, this movement is indescribably beautiful. I cannot begin to explain just how beautiful it truly is. It is indescribable. It is ultimately my favorite movement of any piece on here. Wow. You can tell he really put every single bit of his heart and hisbody into this movement. Just listen to it, and really take time to absorb it. PLEASE. Just listen to it. It's time frame 47:52
the next movement is more heavenly.
it's indescribably beautiful
Sorry, is this a joke? I can´t hear any special moment.
@@bennyb.9298 must be a joke
i raise you "Lascia Ch'io Pianga" at 1:46:32
Hermosa música! Alegra mi alma ❤️!
can't handel how good his music is.
The first piece is my favorite! - number 1, in G major II Allegro - Marvellous!
I had this CD before but lost it during a move stage in my life i'm glad I could hear these wonderful pieces again.
Thank you for the laughs. It's difficult to Handel the stress at my job and you truly made my day.
Neverovatan konpozitor. Skoro kao veliki, najveć i, Johan Sebastijan. Volim Hendlovu muziku i uvek je upoređujem sa Bahovom. Kao da su braća!!
So far I haven't heard "The Best of Handel"!!!!...... obviously, the person who selected this Playlist does not know or care much about the Great-Works of the "Devine-Mr.-Handel"...one of my most favorite composers! He has SO_MUCH_MORE to offer! Open Your eyes - ears & soul! ~~~ Karros

Handel's music is so beautiful I love it! Great job Handel 👏👏
La música clásica de Händel es simplemente sublime¡¡
Как во времена Ренессанса, так и сейчас, нужна светлая, успокаювающая музыка!
I'm literally crying over how amazing and truly magnificent the work of George Frideric Hansel is.
I just realised, I meant Handel.
kataniiago Have ever read the story of Handel and Gretel?
***** well... we could make that happen
... and she's worried about puns.
You are very intelligent, Kataniiago. Handel was a great composer. Few people, though, can spell his name right. It's not Georg Friedrich Handel (umlauted e). It's George Frideric Handel, and that's the way Handel spelled it. Some people want to sound "intellectual by spelling it differently. That concept would never have cut it with my first grade teacher. Haha.
Europe, be proud of your people, for your soul exists in music and it is unique to you.
It's always cool listening to Handel always...At work, home, church etc. The songs are inspirational
