What a fantastic blues! I love to be beyond the burning Melvin's guitar! Black musicians have something special, something elusive to definition, to describe clearly ... They have blues in their blood, all their being ... Love, love, love their art!!!
Melvin Taylor is a gentleman of the highest order and a killer guitarist, I once had the honor of jamming with him at Rosa's, I thought I was just going to play one song but he kept me on for two. Trading leads with him has been the highlight of the guitar playing part of my life. Thanks Melvin! Edit: I neglected to thank Melvin’s second guitarist (who’s name I don’t even know) for handing his very nice, great playing, great sounding Les Paul to a total stranger. I of course pulled my shirt out of my pants to cover my buckle, something one should always do when playing someone else’s guitar! It sucks that this happened in 2005, right before everyone had smartphones and could record video. As far as I know no one had a camcorder there. If by chance someone reads this and does have video of a skinny brown haired white guy named Joe jamming with Melvin at Rosa’s let me know! I will pay a good penny for it! Update, I recently jammed with him again, and this time I have it on video!
But people say no body can jamm Jimmy Hendrix as he threw even Clapton off the road. People comment like this without knowing guiar work of the others. Then Where are Freedie King, Chris Rea, Snowy white, Robert Gray, Tony Joe white as these donot exist. Very sad.
one of the things i loved about my wife and i would kid her about this was that even though she wore the pants in the family she would let me take them off of her any time. she passed away 10 yr ago from cancer but the music lives on
Never Thought I'd Live Long Enough ta hear some one play the Blues on this cut like Billy Gibbons, Sorry Melvin, I was WAY wrong. What a Crusher, Wow! peace, DaKwala
Un solo que pone los pelos de punta,,enorme guitarrista, puro blues,,le pega con fuerza a todas las notas. Hace unos 30 años que escucho a Melvin,, un fenómeno...
Wow, I've never heard Melvin before. That folks is some guitar work. There's a lot of good guitar pickers and then there's a few above the pack. Sounds Like Melvin's one of those. Something special just comes through those strings. It's magic. Heartfelt and expressed. You can't teach or copy that. That is something special. Thank you brother.
+ainthurtinnobody That's the Blues, comes from the soul. A great guitarist can play the notes but if its not from deep down inside the soul, you're just playing the notes.....Blues is a feeling....
The Blues is undoubtedly for the matured minds. I abstract more, relax more and generally see more of life intricacies for better solutions. I really want to get to know more of the world of BLUES. What an enjoyment!
I have seen Melvin I several ocastions with the original line up when he was starting to get some notice on the Chicago blues scene he was a true gentleman unfortunately he never acclaimed the recognition he deserved, I have every album he ever put out Blues on the Run and the first album Melvin Taylor is still my favorite twos. Dirty Pool is a close third behind. Unfortunately I never see him any more as I have moved to the South but I still play one album or CD by him everyday a true guitar master with a very original sound and voice.
Melvin you are awesome!Unbelievable! What an inspiration to an old guitar player like me,,love your playing and singing,,thankyou for your wonderful gift!!

Melvin Taylor is a masterful guitar player that deserves much more recognition than he currently has. I discovered his music years ago on Pandora and have been loving the soulful jams ever since.

I have seen Melvin Taylor in concert in Denmark. He (and the band) was incredible. He played his own blues and jazz, as well as well known material such as this one and good old Fleetwood Mac.

Are you trying to discount guys like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton? Just because they’re not black?
Takes a lot of courage to cover an almost perfect song, but you Sir nailed it. This version is certainly in a league of its own. 💕

Some of them live. And then die. Zappa"Willie the pimp"

Фантастика! Один из ярчайших представителей чикагского блюза Мелвин Тейлор демонстрирует свою взрывную технику исполнения, в стиле Джимми Хендрикса...
Аркадий Яблоков no te entendi ni madre.. al que si le entendi fue a Леонид Егоров yo tambien pienso lo mismo... "Awebo! "

Melvin nails this song.
no puede ser más perfecto!
