+Roberto-Sama Barrera All his were/and are good. RIP Stevie!!!!! I'll be going to Dallas to visit Stevie and his dads headstones next year along with going to Austin.
Sweet jesus, everytime he bends a note, I'm like please stop bending the fuck out of my feelings, like every blue feeling I have deep down in my heart screaming for mercy, this is a phenomenal blues performance if I'm not saying the most phenomenal blues performance I've ever listened to. Pure soul. Blues power.
I'm a huge fan of the Ripley Music Hall rendition, I just can't get enough when he goes balls to the wall with the solos, fuck, those Albert King bends are like a portal to a higher plane of existence. That being said, this one is for sure one of the better performances, and the El Mocambo version is gut wrenchingly awesome too. Honestly though, I love Stevie's Texas Floods so much that I made a whole playlist on Spotify of every different performance that I could find (and where SRV is concerned) they're all top notch performances, but some of them really are a whole other level of good, some performances just exude soul, some performances illicit an almost shamanic experience. It's crazy.
Great sound , best version, lay down played, not to fast. Bass is having this extreme nice low pumping sound... Had never the opportunity to see the master at a live concert.... But I'm grateful to have RUclips 😀
Going to Texas with Stevie Ray Vaughan would be phenomenal..and his music going out over the airwaves and his song is travailing right along and the rhythem is always at its best..band is terrific..Blue's and Rock n roll played on Stevie Ray Vaughan's electric guitar is legend as well as the musician behind it..r u with me? Stevie Ray Vaughan is legend and every performance Stevie did on any stage is sensational..talent is what Stevie was full of and showed it out to the world..RIP Stevie..what an entertainer and performer..going strong in 2021..
I just wish I had a video camera back in '83 when I was stood in awe, watching SRV & DT play for the first time in England, UK at the Reading Rock Festival - Stevie just blew everyone away that day........he was phenomenal, absolute raw blues. RIP Stevie, you changed the direction of my life for sure.
The legend and awesome Stevie Ray Vaughan and DoubleTrouble sounding out..This is fantastic..the Best..Stevie Ray Vaughn is the best in solo and plays a mean electric guitar without skipping a beat..Thank God for blue's and Rock n roll..RIP Stevie..U were so young at the time u went away..but..your still being heard all over the world by U Tube..thank you U Tube
The Texas Legend..Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band..a great performer with his legendary guitar and his masculine voice hitting every note ..A fantastic dresser and every performance is phenomenal..r u with me? Stevie left us at a very young age and is so missed all over the world..RIP Stevie..still listening in 2021
His tone was so particularly sick in this concert seems like he slowed things down a little more to enjoy the screams of his strat himself. Can you imagine the lucky audience in Tokyo lol?
It's another great day being entertained by Stevie Ray Vaughan and his terrific band once again..The greatest guitar stringer and vocalist to be on any given stage..blue's and rock n roll is what its about..Stevie has the rhythem and is legend all around the world..RIP Stevie..what a phenomenal musician.
Miss Stevie's playing soo much! Can't image what the future would have held not only for the blues but music in general had he not been killed. His unique style will be copied for decades but never matched. Thank you very much for posting this amazing example of Stevie's artistry.
The guitar legend..never forgotten ..Stevie Ray Vaughan ..most popular b lo he's and rock band that has taken a stage to perform there phenomenal music and song..Only Stevie can do..rhythem is fantastic ..RIP Stevie..thinking of you in 2021 and listening to your sweet sound..
That sound is just echoing through the .midst of fans to see Stevie Ray Vaughan and the terrific band that has taken the stage..Stevie is a blues and rock n roll legend and plays his electric guitar full speed ahead and not skipping a single beat..RIP Stevie ! still entertaining in 2021..
What an extraordinarily phenomenal musician while Stevie Ray Vaughan lived to entertain and perform in his young years of life..terrific band always on every gig..Stevie is legend and his sound of music will always be out in the airways..RIP .
Damn, he play so well, and even on his back and side, and his 12 bar strumming is fantastic and as far as I know none on RUclips can do it as well or hold it 12 bar, he was a world nr 1 in Blues... A Hendrix nr 2. And then die in a sad plain crash, just like Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens, and in much the same scenario where they had to flip coins about who was going in Helicopter.. May all your musicians meet in the great halls of music in the afterlife and may we be there to listen R.I.P all of you.
August 27 is a Day I will Never Forget We Lost Our Beautiful SRV Brother But I know Were Ever He is He Will Be A Rocking HE IS ALWAYS IN MY HEART AND ROCKING IN MY HOUSE Love Ya Always Your SRV Sister Laura
So fine and down to the BLUES, SRV style. A unique and amazing musician, or maybe magician. Tommy and Chris are down on it, too. Great stuff - thanks for posting.
This is how you play the blues...playing the guitar without looking and make it look easy...behind your back for a good quarter of the full song...almost impossible, but child play for Stevie...
Thanks to whoever posted this. A great rendition for sure! Somebody knew what they were doing! Commenting on the SRV performance. For some yet mostly unexplained reason, performers who head to Japan to perform seem to relax more and concentrate on the music. I find these performances superior to a lot of modern American venues. Just an observation...but a happy one to be sure. Cheers. Greg
Love Stevie. I you like Stevie - you gotta dig some Albert King Too ! Both giants and inspirations to each other - and many others around the globe! :-)
Tonight it's raining down in Texas, and a force 5 hurricane (Patricia) is going to add a lot of moisture...hope the flooding down in Texas is not too bad! Amazing version, really captures his energy and thick sound! www.weather.com/news/news/texas-new-mexico-plains-flood-threat
Might be faster out there ......Never be a more soulful reach in with a note n tear ur heart out picker like him......The world is a less place without SRV
People talk about the SRV tone. And rightfully so. I've been a student of this phenom for all of my days since college. My lab was outdated when I started school and so tubes were all over the place. I took a couple classes in tube technology. Everything else was transistor and solid state. everyone was raving about size...how small we could get things like amps and oscillators and such. Well I started playing with audio amps and being bored and a bit of a degenerate, I tried many times to blow them up!! Yeah. Tried to burn em up right there in the middle of the lab at 2AM with only me and a guitar and a power supply. I tried about everything but really couldn't. Now with Transistors....that was a different story. If you breathed on them wrong, they died. Silently. Whimpy! So in the melee I discovered that the harder I abused my tube [haha] the better it seem to like it! Tone wise. Come on you guys...I'm trying to be serious......[for once]. Anyway long story short some tubes liked it more than others. Yeah you guessed it!......AMERICAN MANUFACTURED ONES. Since this was the 70's I had plenty of donated 50's and 60's tubes laying around. Thousands of them really. Bottom line I discovered that RCA meatball logos were great in the front ends of amps, while the Mullard tubes seemed to love high voltage in the secondary power amps! Aside from the Mullards nothing has really changed even today. I seek out the old RCA's and of course have to charge accordingly, but the end results [for serious tone seeking players] is well worth the costs. SRV's tech [s] new this too, and recently you can hear JD SIMO spouting the advantage of great tubage!
"We'd like to thank you for bringing us to Tokyo,
We expect you to go to Texas with us right now"
Really? Wow! Sweet! Ya from Dallas? RIP SRV

Stevie Ray Vaughan feels every beat of that drum and his guitar of each note being played..So musically inclined and bred for music..marvelous
