not really new as the glitch has existed for many years and we've known about it for like 4-5 at this point and almost all world records in minecraft parkour maps utilise it
This is very intriguing. I wonder how many more repeatable de-sync glitches are out there and are either undiscovered, or not yet well known. Great video! Very informative!

That trick was already known in the German Community since around 2016. In 2016, I found a map in Jump World, a minigame from Timolia, and it had not only that mechanic, but also other mechanics. Taking damage while on the slime block was merely one of many features of that short but very hard map. I took those jump and did my own spin on it. Unfortunately, Timolia removed all maps from prior 2020 (and unreleased maps), so that they can monetize map size. I had an unreleased map built in 2018/19 that had one very big build in it, the survival inventory in pink with slots filled with what I'm wearing on my skin. That build could now fit within the world border, minus a few blocks, and every map where I used the render distance to hide the tutorial section, or generally the start point of the map where they can choose a path, is no longer possible. How it works: You need to take damage before the bounce. The video gives an example that always works without any requirements, but the way I had to learn it, was that hitting the ground before shifting over to the slime block (in the same tick) did the trick. The map had some other things as well, like fire in the air giving you a huge down-pull towards the slime block, which results in the same bounce height. Damage boosting over a fence was also part of the map, and one of the hardest jumps there was to jump 2 blocks high. My spin did it a bit different, to make the player rage-quit a lot faster, I used poison instead of fire, as poison has more time between damage ticks.
@@Legitimoose After two weeks, I finally tried to open Minecraft, and had the motivation to build a map for you, but before I joined the Jump World Server, I had to find out that the old maps were in fact not deleted. The server was split into 1.8 and 1.16+, in which the quick join function (right click in the menu) leads to the latter. I played some of my maps made in 2016, that I didn't play for 3-6 years. (mostly 5 years) The maps are still available, but heavily broken, because checkpoints are no longer just the pressure plates, they are like carpets now, so some jumps dependent on the pressure plates being avoidable, and therefore are no longer possible. The second map I was referring to in the first comment is #5, you can find it by writing into the filter "name:KittenKatja" or using the command "/enter 9UFB", and spectate with "/spec". Only 1.16+ has their world size monetized now.

hello! i'd like to have an correction to your video first, im not some person who "tHiS iS wRoNg L bOzO", i am more experienced in slime glitches than, at least, a majority of people, and i have found shortcuts in maps which some speedrunners are using in attempts anyway, what i wanted to say is that you dont HAVE TO shift to do the slime glitch, it is one of the ways to do so, but you only need to take damage, such as landing on the edge of slime and block, fire damage, etc also, just a side note, some names which had appeared in the video are my friends (powshadowpsh, psych0cqt) aside from that, this is seriously a great video!
This is amazing and really well explained, it only took me a few minutes to almost master it. A cool idea for a map that intentionally uses this would be something I made where you use the same one slime block to bounce from one side to another, going a few blocks higher each time, until you reach the top.
Im surprised that i somehow got recommended your channel two years after I watched it previously. As a source engine certified gamer, it's really cool to see physics based tech in a game like minecraft. I always loved the depth this type of stuff brings to a game
thanks to this video after some testing I was able to figure out that fall damage inflicts some knockback/velocity, it's very very little but if you do jam tap once with and without fall damage the fall damage will bring you just a bit further than your landing point
I think what would be even more cooler is making alternative paths that experienced players and speedrunners could take to save some time or explore new areas (that could fix replayability problem of linear maps btw)
this reminds me of slam storage from ultrakill where you do a slam and a walljump at the same time, and the longer you slam for, the higher you'll jump if you jump right after landing. the walljump makes you bounce off of a wall and stay in the air for about a second and a half, and in that time the game thinks you've been slamming the entire duration so it sends you as high as a height that would equal to about 1.5 seconds of slamming thus giving you a crapton of height
Holding space while doing it makes you go higher btw and some timings do different things than other. In the early days this was done by jumping on the edge of the slime blokc bc you would bounce and take fall damage, but this is fixed now bc sides of blocks got updated. Also doing a 2 block jump actually is possible no matter if you have lag, it just needs rlly good timing and for some cases there are tricks.
I played on a server where I was constantly laggy so I could consistently jump 2 blocks by using an elytra (after jumping activate the elytra and aim up) and I could rubberband (jump then activate elytra, aim up and just before hitting the ground try and time re-activating the elytra or just spam space I think) with it as well which was fun and quite fast.
Nice video. But i do have a question... Could you try revisiting your project about making a minecraft tournament for streamers? I understand if you would rather do something else.
This used to be in Hypixel with the slime kit in skywars. The feather falling stopped all damage but you still took a tick of damage, which would send you higher, and you used to be able to be able to launch yourself really high, but then they patched it. Lowkey sad
I just realised that this has happened to me loads of times already since, it actually also works without sneaking. You just have to hit the edge like before with air
There was this slime jump setup on Hypixel in a TNT wizard map waiting lobby. I haven't played Hypixel in years so no clue if its still there. But back them I always wondered how to do the jump since it seemed impossible to me. Thx for this video
