You’d think that one of the best parts about being involved in a movie is getting to watch it with your friends afterwards, point at the screen whenever you’re on it, and grin like a huge idiot. But apparently there are lots of actors who have never felt the urge to watch the very movies they were paid millions of dollars to star in, and in some cases they actively hate the characters they were asked to play with every fiber of their being.

i love fact number 5
"hey danny i didnt knew you were in this movie"
"well... neither did i"
"When did I do a trailer for machete?"
Envy Noson He'd made more B movies than yellowjackets and hornets! :^)
***** He probably doesn't know he's in this video either.
***** Danny is awesome
For some reason, I actually picture this is how a conversation with him going if you watch one of his movies with him.
The list is kinda mistitled. For example, Depp doesn't hate his movies. He's just incredibly self conscious and embarrassed about himself. A lot of actors are like this.
Hayden Silbermann tooooo many cooks.
Toveri Juri
I'd say the title is just a generalization of the overall theme: actors who don't like their own movies for some reason. And since hate is such an overused word nowadays, I'm not surprised to see it on a click-bait title. Besides, what would be a better title? "Actors who Avoided Watching their Own Movies"?
Dr Pebbs
I don't know why you mentioned me though. I was just calling out the guy who insulted the TC for no good reason.
I wouldn't call some of these parts even dislike though. 3. even says he likes the movie.
Toveri Juri
Yeah I was going to say something to you but then got sidetrack and then got tired of writing.
Hayden Silbermann Agreed. There are several actors I've heard of that have never seen their movies, though I'm not sure it goes as far as Johnny ripping up a poster. I get how they feel, they would tear their performance apart and not enjoy the film and always think I could have done that better AFTER the fact, so what's the point? I'd probably be the same. Just do the best you can in the role and let others enjoy it
Robert Pattinson and his hatred of the twilight movies is like stuff of legend over on tumblr, just google "Robert Pattinson Hates His Life".
Sky's World You beat me to it. LOL I watched Twilight with the commentary on and couldn't believe on how he ragged on it. Not to mention how he disses it in interviews and how he disses the Twilight fans.
Sky's World the girl from those movies too. They say the author made a creepy mary sue fan fic.
Also, ed norton hates his movies cuz editing always changes the script he signed up for. i know hes argued against hulk and american history x
Sky's World Can't blame him really, it's pretty horrible. :)
***** I've heard that, sometimes, they shoot their commentaries separately then edit them together to make it seem they're in the same room at the same time. Maybe that's what they did there.
***** Pattinson's commentary is my favorite part of Twilight. He should have done it for all of the films.
The last one didn't really hate his role, he just doesn't want to pay for HBO. We feel you.
That was funny!!🤣
The narrator's like...c'mon HBO, throw in a free subscription into his contract!🤣
I literal!y only paid for HBO during the GoT seasons, then immediately cut it off right after the season ended lol
Alec Guiness's story is nearly identical to Richard Harris's, the man who played Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films before his death called for the role to be recast. He thought the films were rather silly, and was afraid that they would overshadow his long and glorious career that had come before them. In fact, he only accepted the role because his granddaughter, a big Harry Potter fan, threatened to never speak to him again if he turned it down. It's a little sad to see just how right he was.
Mad Hatter Yeah, must suck to be loved and remembered forever.
Christina Doxstader It would be if you're remembered for something you specifically said you don't want to be remembered for.
Mad Hatter i'm surprised her parents let her get away with it if i tried pulling that stunt it be me getting the silent treatment and no allowance until i learned not to blackmail people especially the elderly
Mad Hatter A valid point. And I love the hell out of your handle and avatar, Mr. Hatter.
MagicEmperor *blushes* Tee-hee, oh you!
The Star Wars wiki says (paraphrased), "There is a misconception that Guiness hated the Obi-wan character, but in truth, he loved him, but disliked being associated solely with his time playing Obi-wan, despite his many other praised roles."
That's the story i always heard. He was a fantastic actor.
I get his frustration.
Tim Curry didn't hate The Rocky Horror Picture Show and there are many interviews where he talks about it at least once. As a matter of fact, he's had to talk about it in almost every single interview he's done lol he was always getting asked about it.
I still think of Tim Curry mostly as Wadsworth from "Clue". I love that movie. :) If I met him that's probably what I would talk about more than anything.
I always think about Muppet Treasure Island first when I think of him.
red alert 3 is what i think about when he comes to mention
Sure enjoyed his performance on Psych too.
@@bholmes5490 I think I forgot that. I need to watch that show again.
What was said about Tim Curry and Rocky Horror was a lie. He loves that film. He talks about it in interviews and attends Rocky Horror reunions. When he was touring as a singer, he would end with "I'm Going Home" from Rocky Horror. In the video for Paradise Garage, you see a Frank-N-Furter look alike walk past. On SNL he did a sketch with Meatloaf where they had a business selling supplies to Rocky Horror fans.
ikr!
+Sean Maher As I commented if Tim hated his role as Frank-N-Furter he would have given up the stage production long after the movie was put out. He played Frank in both the British and US stage productions. Clearly his love for RHPS is still dear to him.
Rosie Summer Next fall, FOX will be doing a TV remake of RHPS. And take a guess who will be playing the criminologist. Just guess!
Sean Maher Yes I saw the interviews and the photo. :) Looking forward to it. Top Tenz didn't do their research about Tim Curry, most likely they found one pass away comment from Tim Curry which is most likely said in a sarcastic tone and used that for their video.
Rosie Summer On Oct 30th, Tim Curry and Lou Adler were presented at Los Angeles City Hall each an official proclamation by the Mayor declaring it to be Rocky Horror Picture Show Day in Los Angeles.
Tim Curry doesn't hate The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He just doesn't want people to only see him as that one guy who dressed in drag that one time, and he's successfully done that by having countless roles in other films and TV shows. He's talked highly of the film many times, despite practically every interview he's ever done having referenced the film or made him say a few lines from it, he still praises and talks highly of it, and even included a RHPS song in his touring set list at the end of the 70's/beginning of the 80's.
I'll always remember his deceitful laugh in IT as Penny Wise, he was scary, did a fantastic job
"Before Vampires were sparkly weirdos who played Baseball in forests and got in fistfights with Werewolves" I literally fell on the ground laughing, best Line ever !
Why doesn't Dinklage download GoT like everyone else?
VideoDeadGaming He probably doesn't like the show that much but fans would crucify him if he said so.
Dude might prefer sci-fi or documentaries or something, who knows.
VideoDeadGaming Lot of actors don't watch themselves because they say they feel weird afterwards and start to second-guess themselves. Anybody who's ever heard his/her voice recorded and then played back--"Is THAT my voice?"--can sort of relate.
William Shatner doesn't watch himself in his tv or movie roles, for example. He's never seen a "Star Trek" film. Nimoy didn't watch them, either.
VideoDeadGaming I'm sure that Peter Dinklage could obtain episodes of "Game of Thrones" if he wanted. He probably just doesn't like to observe his own work. Kurt Vonnegut didn't read his own novels because he hated his own writing, despite being one of the best writers who ever lived.
Daniel Bradford how did Shatner direct and write the fifth star trek movie without watching it?
Nigel Roy
He had access to scripts and acted in star trek for several years before that movie. He helped direct or write scenes for episodes and arguably knows more about star trek up to that point than any of the other writers.
It's kind of like how most people know how to operate a car if their parents drove them.
Also, he may have had co writers, though don't quote me on that.
Let's not forget how Robert Pattinson HATES Twilight and everything to do with it. Actually... I think the whole cast hates it.
+Rikusgirl001 You see, even the crew gave up on that series.
+Rikusgirl001 I think Kristen Stewart started off as a fan of the book series when she got the role, but keep in mind that she was really young at the time. Like, Pattinson was told not to make a move until she turned 18 because he's older than her and she was underage at the time. As the movies progressed though, she did eventually come out with her hatred towards the series.
+Rikusgirl001 I don't think that's limited to the cast. I'm pretty sure at least 90% of its so-called fandom are just trolling everyone else with it.
doesn't everyone in America hate it? No... Just me?
that is so true lol
Tim Curry even talked about his role as Pennywise in It and said he absolutely loved it and wishes Bill Skarsgard the very best for his role as the killer clown in the upcoming film.
Wait... you mean to tell me that Peter Dinklage doesn't get his own free copy of the season on DVD or BD?
martinicc67 That was my thought too, seems like they'd get something from the studio as spill over perks.
martinicc67 I have a feeling he's only kidding when he says that. He probably has a different reason for not watching it.
Even people who work for Comcast get extremely reduced priced cable.
He most likely watches the show but told this to a reporter because he was tired of stupid questions like "who do you want to see on the throne?" "what character would you like to work with one day?" etc etc
carschmn No, that's an incentive program designed to get people to work at comcast.
I've never understood actors who don't watch their films. The again I hate hearing my voice or seeing myself on videos recorded on me too lol.
RckerMom87 I'd probably analyze where and what I did wrong and could have done better. So I just wouldn't watch it to save myself.
I think I know how y'all feel.
RckerMom87 I would imagine it's hard to watch yourself because it makes it difficult to get into the plot or performance because you are critiquing yourself.
RckerMom87 Sounds like you actually do understand.
RckerMom87 Every artist does this, and acting is indeed an "art form". No painter is every satisfied with their painting, and no photographer is ever happy with their final print, and no sculptor is ever happy with their "finished" sculpt.
The problem with acting is, someone else decides when you are finished, and you have to live with what they decide - even if you think you could have done better.
Regarding Alec Guiness, he did have his reasons for hating star wars that deserve to be mentioned. He simply did not consider it to be a very good movie, yet especially younger generations only seemed to know him from that role and not for the roles he played which he was actually proud of.
How crazy fans could get about a movie was also something he could not understand, this was a new phenomenon at the time.
Personly I like star wars, but I understand the frustration he must have felt.
Willem Verheij True. As I recall, he'd been in over 100 movies by the time he did Star Wars. It must have been very frustrating for him to end his career and life being known primarily for Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Willem Verheij I think people have gone over the top above certain movies ever since the art form began-I don't think Guinness thought that Star Wars deserved the same attention as did "Gone with the Wind" for example. Off topic I just saw the new Mission Impossible movie and I thought it equaled any Star War movie for sheer banality and bad acting-non existent acting. Empty plot and stupid dialogue and cartoonish impossible special effects
Willem Verheij Ya but he took it too far. I understand that he didn't like the films but he should respect the fact that other people do so wen a child walks u and says hey your ben kenobi even if you don't like that you are you shouldn't yell at them until they cry. Plus he hates the franchise and the fans yet he gladly took lots and lots of money from it so I really just don't like his anti-starwars attitude I think he takes it too far.
Alton May I'm not too sure about the extent of how he treated fans, all I read about was an encounter where a kid said he saw the movie 10 times or such and he told him to never watch it again since he thought the boy was obsessing over it.
Willem Verheij I thought this was when he yelled at a fan to leave him alone and to forget about start wars forever
Well that's why Depp still looks young. He's Dorian Gray.
+Paul Reeves i smell a scammer
I'd just like to add for everyone who doesn't know: in the actual book (and consequently every single rendition OTHER than League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) Dorian could look at his painting just fine. In fact he does it all the time throughout the book. Also LoEG made him look around 30, instead of around 18/19 like in the book. (For those wonder how he actually ended up dying/trading places with the distorted figure in the painting: he stabs it in the end of the book because he had been trying to turn over a new leaf, become a good person, and he realized how many terrible things the painting had caused)
Also LoEG completely glosses over Henry, who is the whole reason why Dorian became a hedonist obsessed with beauty and youth in the first place (not a manipulative asshole, he was just a major hedonist... well ok he does manipulate one person into disposing of a body for him, but that's pretty much it and it wasn't exactly anyone he was close with). Plus the book does not have a single instance of the painting taking his wounds, he's even terrified of a man who's trying to kill him.
And he didn't consciously sell his soul... he was just distressed that the painting would be forever beautiful whereas he'd only get older and uglier as time went on. The painter, Basil, tried to reassure him, which caused him to exclaim (while extremely emotional and upset) that he wanted the painted to grow old and ugly while he remained youthful and beautiful. And apparently since Basil was in love with Dorian and had poured so much love into the painting and had painted Dorian's personality and self into it too, and had captured him perfectly, that it had become an extension of him? Plus maybe a demon or something heard Dorian's plea? Idk it's never fully explained. But yea that's how he got the magic painting that aged and showed the cruelty and deviance behind his eyes while his face still showed his purity and innocence - and of course youth.
Sorry for the major explanation... The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of my favourites, but few people know much about it (mostly because people tried to scrub Oscar Wilde from history for being gay.... but hey)
I wonder if Depp had the same problem as Micheal Jackson. Jackson hated his face because "every time I look in the mirror, I see my father staring back at me." Which is why he kept getting his nose & eyes tweaked. Perhaps Depp also hated his father.
***** I looked up what his father looked like, and he has a few similar features, but overall looks fairly different. Plus there were plenty of pictures of the two together throughout Johnny's career, many of which are posed with an arm over one or the other, so it looks like they are still decently close.
You don't have to have parental issues to have self esteem issues.
Kate Speaks Maybe he has drastically different standards of beauty than most Americans, & doesn't live up to his own standards.....Or maybe he's seen his face plastered everywhere & is bored with seeing it all the time.
Yeah, I understand why Jackie Chan doesn't want people to watch the American movies.
Madness1 I don't want to watch his American films either. His Chinese stuff is hysterical. I have a copy of one of his earliest films from the 70's. It's horrible, but you should watch it.
Juxtavarious I never liked the American influence on martial arts (or comedy), being a martial artist myself having EVERYTHING called Judo or Karate is really annoying; plus it's not that well done.
Come on, now, it's all Kung Fu and you know it. The world is just THAT simple and uncomplicated. It's like all we have to do to get a girl is be associated with having done something heroic.
This video here ( watch?v=Z1PCtIaM_GQ ) pretty much breaks down why Jackie's Asian films are indeed superior to his American ones. It's not just in the humor but in the editing and choreography, and in Hong Kong, Jackie also has more control in creativity, time, and budget to be perfectionist with shooting.
Madness1 Yeah, movies like Fearless Hyena, Drunken Master, Legend Of Drunken Master, and Snake In The Eagles Shadow, are where he really shines.
Depp doesn't hate his movies...in interviews, he talks about how it's fun to go back to rolls such as Jack Sparrow, or how he wouldn't be against being Edward again (although he thinks it's been too long to make a sequel now). The actual reasons he doesn't watch his movies are:
1: He's in reality a super shy guy, and 2: Once they're done filming, he feels that's it for him. They got to live what actually happened, and there were good memories made, and he doesn't want to go back and watch his movies, cuz he'd automatically critique his own work, and wish he could change the unchangeable. And that would potentially ruin it for him.
I don't know about other actors, but I suspect they have similar reasons for not watching their films.
Tim curry loved rocky horror and has no hatred towards being a part of it. He continued his role in the stage productions just as he did before the movie was made, so that was untrue.
It kind of makes me sad Alec Guinness didn't like Star Wars
TheMedicalOfficer Sir Alec was a great stage actor and had been in numerous films before Star Wars came out,,, yes i can understand why many fans do not understand his dislike of the franchise or rather the fixation many fans had with his character...his acting range was so far above what the fans wanted to see his anger is justified in a way...think he could have been a bit nicer at times but history cannot be changed, only understood from a different perspective.
*****
And the confused pointless reply goes to you
***** I do think it's somewhat disingenuous of Alex Guinness to accept the pay cheque and diss the movie. Star wars is for children.
*****
Not very bright are you
Bruce Gilchrist You are right that Star Wars is for children, in terms of its puerile themes and characters, but there is nothing inherently wrong with making children's movies. Perhaps what alarmed Sir Alec is that it was taken so ultra-seriously by many people over the age of 12, the movie's natural age limit. That old cliché about most people's taste never developing past that age is certainly true in the case of Star Wars, and is what is driving the relentless superhero-itis of current movie-making.
I completely agree with Joseph Gordon Levvit, to the point where I thought the subtle point of the film WAS that his character was a self obsessed asshole, I mean, she clearly explains to him how she feels about relationships.
I actually felt embarrassed for Johhny Depp in Dark Shadows. It was a terrible movie and Depp's portrayal as the original Barnabas Collins was dismal.
+Cyn Mann I agree. It was an insult to the memory of Jonathan Frid who was talked into doing a cameo in the movie and died a few month later before the film came out. He had been wise to leave the movie/TV business in the '70s.
i never saw the original but i liked the film for its humour definitely not tim and Johnny's best it was still OK emphasis on ok LOL.
Me, before starting the video: If Robert Pattinson isn't number one with Twilight, I'm gonna scream.
Me, after finishing video: *SCREAMS*
+CasTheGamerMC I personally have been shielded from all Twilight products until now- so I have nthing to say on the films or books, but it _is_ true that Robert only took up the role of Edward because it was a job and it turned out him (and Kristen Stewart) had no love for the series.
+CasTheGamerMC HOOOOOOOOOWWWW??????????
Guinness never said he hated Star Wars, never said he hated "every second of filming it", and didn't refuse to do the film without double pay. And you can find plenty of material just on RUclips of him promoting the movies. Are you just making all this shit up?
His problem with Star Wars was the obsessiveness of fans and the celebrity it gave him. Guinness was a traditional English stage actor who hated the Hollywood celebrity lifestyle. He just wanted to be a normal actor
Glad someone beat me to the punch on this. Guinness was simply concerned that people's obsessiveness with the movies would dwell their lives into nothing. And his concerns have proven at least some what prophetic. You have 30 year olds who are wearing Star Wars shirts and swinging lightsabers all the time, and you have a large group of nerds who think the prequels suck because they dont have the millenium falcon and tie fighters.
Alec Guinness got one percent of the profits from Empire Strikes Back
Jeffrey314159 thats a ton
He called the movie a "fairy tale rubbish." but still negotiated a 2 percent, knowing the movie will be a hit. Then gets "shriveled up" when people mention Star Wars. May not be hate per say, but is as close as it gets.
There are literally letters of his written during production disparaging the movie as "fairytale rubbish" with "awful dialogue". He clearly didn't think it was one of his distinguished roles.
Brilliant Video as always. Really interesting.
Great video Simon & Co! 👏👏
Alec Guinness started to "hate Star Wars" after 1986 when they stopped giving him new roles because they said he was now type cast.
He did not hate the Star Wars film, but what they did to his career.
Sir Guinness didn't hate Star Wars, per se, he hated that it was all people would recognize him for; he had such a career full of wonderful roles on both stage and screen, that it annoyed him that people only cared about his small role in a crappy space movie; the man portrayed Julius Caesar and Charles I, but the people only wanted too see him as some old wizard.
Bela Lugosi had a love/hate relationship with Dracula. He had played the role on stage on Broadway, and when the film first came out in 1931, his romantic characterization made him a hearthrob. He became THE iconic Dracula. He was offered the part of Frankenstein's monster and turned it down, and suddenly Boris Karloff knocked him off the radar as THE horror star of the moment. (They did horror movies together after that and there are conflicting stories as to whether they got along or not.) Anyway, Bela got typecast in the Dracula role, which, at the time, he had been proud of but eventually ended up stuck doing only a bunch of B horror movies. If you're not Johnny Depp (who stars in it), watch the movie "Ed Wood," in which Martin Landau gave an Oscar-winning performance as Bela Lugosi to get a better understanding of how his life ended ... given another chance at acting in even more ironically bad B-movies. He died while making his last film "Plan 9 From Outer Space," arguably one of the worst movies of all time. (I've read a few biographies of Bela Lugosi and never heard about his trademarking his performance. If he had, he'd have died a rich man, but he didn't. Nor would people go on caricaturing his accent and likeness for things like Count Chocula breakfast cereal!)
brilliant as always:) x
I know how most of these actors feel. With the exception of Depp, I don't watch any of their movies either.
Michael Steven Martin Umm...thanks for watching, then?
Michael Steven Martin ooohhhh- an actual witty and funny insult that isn't coming across as trolling. Well done.
Michael Steven Martin
It was very good.
Dr Pebbs lol. very funny.
Michael Steven Martin Me neither, but then I don't watch many movies.
What About Robert Pattinson he admit that he hated his role as Edward Culleen
jordan porter
Well it's the only sensible reaction...
jordan porter Robert Pattinson is actually a pretty good actor. The directors of twilight seem to suck the life out of the actors and it's pretty dull + the script is awful.
Toveri Juri Agreed.
jordan porter Cant blame him. I dont think theres a person on the planet, famous or otherwise. who hasn't ripped the piss out of him or his character.
jordan porter umm who didnt? well who didnt that wasnt wearing soggy panties... if ya get ma meanin... /shush.
Tim Curry has changed his attitude since he's going to be in the remake this October! Brave of him since he had that stroke. Bravo Tim bravo!!!
You should do the same list, only with actors who hate being in the tv show they are in.
Crystal Cuellar Look at #1
Lubub55 He doesn't hate being in the show, he's just not interested in paying to see it.
Lubub55 He doesn't hate being in the show, he's just not interested in paying to see it.
Juxtavarious I know, lots of these actors didn't hate their films and just didn't watch them, the title is misleading.
+Crystal Cuellar Robert Reed would be at the very top of that list.
Great video
Regarding Alec Guinness, he was massively famous before George Lucas was out of diapers. Bridge on the River Kwai, Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago are but 3 of the major motion pictures he starred in.
Ladykillers, Lavender Hill mob, kind hearts and coronets
@@neilpower60 Lavender Hill Mob was a great picture.
I've seen and read many interviews with Alec about Star Wars and he was happy many people saw it. He actually got annoyed that people only wanted to talk to him about Star Wars and not a new project he was working on or promoting. I can understand with a career like Guinness' and you do one film in particular that people love and it also gets new people to know you and your work because of said movie, that feels great. But when that film is all anyone wants to talk to you about in the bulk of an interview, when you're there to talk about a movie you've done and are promoting or are talking about your career and people just want to talk to you about that for about 50-60% of the interview about Star Wars, I can understand his frustration. And as to why people saw the movie over and over is because of how the film was ground breaking with special effects and retold classic fairy tale stories in a setting not done before. Star Wars is a revolutionary film and film series, whether you like it or not. It's impact on film and culture can't be ignored. And if I sound rude by saying so, I apologize, but it doesn't seem hard to figure out why people love it and talk about it so much. Also, Lucas and the rest of the cast and crew said he was genuinely happy during the making of the film, and that he wasn't happy that Lucas killed Obi-Wan off in the film, instead of waiting for the next film like what was supposed to happen originally. Perhaps that and the combination of people talking to him about it got him uninterested and dissatisfied with the franchise all together.
But he didn't hate Star Wars right away. If anything, he originally didn't like the dialogue, cause of the odd things being said in the film that when reading it, might not make a lot of sense until watching the film.
great video!
I have to admit that the Chinese Jackie Chan movies are way better than the American movies.
This channel is by far my favourite 'top 10s' channel on RUclips. That accent.... :)
Rob Lloyd Yup. He should find an excuse to same Vampire in every one of his videos. It sounds so nice when he says it. ;)
3:08 *Human Microphone* LOL That line made me giggle!
He always had the groove! Love his naration! Audio books next, sir!
Title: "Top 10 actors who hated their own movies"
put actors who liked their movie or can't physically watch their TV SHOW
i feel bad for Jake Lloyd
Cher initially hated "Moonstruck".
Co star Olympia Dukakis says when the movie wrapped she recalls Cher catching her attention to give her a 'gag me' sign. Cher didn't think it would be a hit and thought the dialogue was silly.
Cher has also said she didn't like Burlesque, one of the few movies she's appeared in at all in the last decade.
I gave it a thumbs up and hope you hit a million views on it! :)
Not liking Iron Man didn't seem to stop Paul Bettany from taking those bags of money or starring as Vision in Age of Ultron...
Alec Guiness hated Star Wars so much he made three films and a ton of money off it.
Lugosi actually played Dracula TWICE. In the original "Dracula" and "Abbott & Costello Meed Frankenstein." He did play vampires in several films, but they were never named Dracula.
great vid
I feel nothing but understanding over Jackie Chan's feelings about his American movies. The Asian movies he's been in actually give him free reign and time to practice shots with his stunt team, they don't try to hurry him up and cut away from the action because they allow for Jackie to get it right and be satisfied with his scene. The man is an artist and they're trying to rush his work in America. Jackie is seriously just there for star power because with enough camera blur, frantic edits, cuts and zooms, anyone can look like Jackie Chan. Watch his non-American movies, guys. I love how the camera catches every second of the action and you can see the almost musical rhythm of everyone's moves.
I really enjoyed Forbidden Kingdom. Probably Jackie Chan's best American movie.
same here
+Movie Games I know this is a matter of opinion but... NO, JUST NO. Shanghai Noon and Shanghai knights are way better.
Personally, I agree with Chan. All of his best flicks were done in China back in the 80s.
+Movie Games And this ladys and gentlemen, is an example of an opinion so bad that it can be called objectively wrong.
+Movie Games pleb
Al Lewis, famous for creating the roll of "Grampa Munster" on the hit TV Show THE MUNSTERS (1964-1966), was known to have never seen any his performances on TV, Film, when appearing on Talk Shows and being interviewed when running for Governor of New York on the Green Party. He stated he was very uncomfortable seeing himself act. Although as we all know, his characterizations were bigger than life and most memorable. He maintained never seeing himself in and on these venues, until his death in February of 2006. He opened an Italian restaurant in New York's, Greenwich Village, aptly named... "Gramps Bella Gente" located at 252 Bleeker Street in NYC in 1987, closing its doors in 1993. He was continually there to great his patrons and sign autographs and sitting at the tables of the customers, engaging them in conversation. Very personable and lovable man, I can assure you having dined there numerable times myself. The building in which it was located has since been demolished and replaced by another. He was the most famous resident on Roosevelt Island, just off the East River Drive.
Yes, I have a copy of 500 Days of Summer, a movie I've never even heard about until now, lying around somewhere and my boyfriend definitely has a copy in his house as well.
Game of thrones is not a movie...
and half of the information in this video is wrong
Touch`e
It ought to be with, but not the same screenwriters from the last seasons
"Joseph Gordon-Levitt thinks his character in..."
Don't say Dark Knight Rises don't say Dark Knight Rises don't say Dark Knight Rises...
Tokugawa Heavy Industries Dark Knight Rises
While Bela Lugosi played vampires numerous times, he actually played The Count only twice - "Dracula" (1931) and "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" (1948).
On Bela Lugosi - he only played the count three times. Once in a stage play that became a hit. The second time was in the Universal film, Dracula, which was based on the stage play. The only other time he played the vampire count was in " Abbott and Costello Meet
Frankenstein ". So he did not play him as often as you say he did.
Johnny Depp is probably the best looking man alive
Incorrect. Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides
both you bitches are wrong, its Chris Pratt :P
All of you are wrong it's me bitches
tacomanlivs2 Yes. No homo.
Adam Lambert ew
What about Emma Watson? She has seen her own movies on the premieres of course, but that´s the only time she watches them. Not because she doesn´t like them, she´s just simply doesn´t feel comfortable watching herself on the films.
I've actually seen lots of older photos of Tim Curry in on stage productions of Rocky Horror even years after it was released in theaters and on video and plenty of interviews after its release where he's talked about it and how shocked he is/was that people didn't react quite as violently to him on stage in those clothes as he thought they would.
this was fascinating
Jackie Chan's is pretty understandable. American action is poorly done, with stunts being filmed from bad angles to disguise the fact that no one in Hollywood can fight worth a damn, which breaks up both the serious fight sequences as well as gags in really awkward ways. His Chinese movies are way better made, and he has more control over how they are filmed and choreographed than in America.
Cody Leonard He's been in movies since the early 70's, I'm sure he was doing just fine, especially with the Drunken Master series being as popular as it was. Yes, movies like Shanghai Knights put a pretty coin in his pocket, but he realizes he sold out, and he acknowledges that his US movies suck in comparison to his previous works. How can you fault a man for having enough balls to admit his mistakes?
+TheMadisonMachine I really liked most of his movies Americanized or not. However, I was watching the Chinese Zodiac, and it was pretty horrible, in my opinion.
so true
+TheMadisonMachine He's also not very fond of the politics of Hollywood, which is understandable too.
true dat
The man that played Obi- Wan Kenobi did not like Star Wars and was hostile to his fans?! Okay I sort-of feel like my childhood has been ruined now.
I'm not sure if he legit hated it, but he didn't like it. He couldn't understand the appeal. The gibberish he was spouting left him scratching his head.
I met Tim Curry in person and got him to sign a picture of him as Frank'n'Furter, I said I thought it was the most beautiful picture of him ever, and he actually admitted that the particular picture I had was a personal favourite of his, mostly cos "Mick Rock (the photographer) did know how to capture my good side"! Just in case you didn't realise, I have been madly in love with Tim Curry for forever!!!
OKIE DOKIE re-watch. Hope you hit a million soon. cheers
how the hell is Robert Pattinson not on this list
I know right
Too mainstream !
The first entry is kinda ridiculous. Paul Bettany has never expressed a dislike of the films despite not seeing them (he's just usually not a fan of Sci-Fi and action movies), and even jumped at the chance to get an on-screen role as the Vision. (And said he's enjoyed working on the thus-far two films where he's appeared on-screen as Vision) Not exactly "hating" his own work, there.
+ MaximumMadnessStixon I agree.. It was the same with James Earl Jones, back when Star Wars first came out. He was misquoted as saying he disliked the movie and hated being the voice of Vader.. He actually said that he didn't think he deserved any credit for just voicing the character, and actually liked the movie.
to be fair the first entry is not the only one that was wrong
The Alec Guinness thing crack me up. He mist be one of the most quoted people in movie history. I can totally understand why he hates it so much. Can you imagine every other person you see mimicking your voice waving their hand in front of you quoting, " These are not the droids you're looking for." He deserves every penny he made from that role royalties included.
Mhmmm...you guys finally
Uploaded a good one.
Bela Lugosi is NOT the original vampire. He did Dracula in 1931 and Max Schreck played a vampire before him in Nosferatu in 1922.
Correction Lugosi only appeared as Dracula in two movies!
There were also Broadway plays. Plus he may as well have been Dracula in "Mark of the Vampire" and "The Return of the Vampire".
I can't even begin to fathom the personalities of the children who teased Jake Lloyd for being a professional child actor in a movie like Star Wars. I'm sure when he was younger it wasn't the coolest thing around unlike today where it has lost a lot of the negative connotations, but like, he was making money as a ten year old in one of the largest movie franchises to date. I'd wanna be best friends with that kid if I was around when that movie came out!
Where i live there always filming game of thrones and i have never saw an episode for same reason as him the dark hedges arent far from were i live and just last week they were filming
Jake Lloyd wasn't bad in the phantom menace, he's a kid being a kid
No offense to Jake Lloyd, but he sucked in The Phantom Menace, I get that he's just a kid but so were Haley Joel Osment and Drew Barrymore and look at their performances. I think that Lucas case Lloyd more for his resemblance to Mark Hamill than for his acting ability.
That's not why Johnny Depp doesn't watch his movies. He doesn't because he wants to leave with the experience that he has on set. I know this because he has said this many of times in interviews.
I've read at least two stories about Stallone that...depending on the source, have him admit that either Rhinestone or Stop or My Mom Will Shoot would be good to use for interrogation purposes.
I completely understand number 1. I like last week tonight with John Oliver, but im not paying so much money a month just to be able to see a few extra channels I would rarely watch.
What about Harrison Ford and his hate with Starwars and Han solo.?
Rapture Kicks I don't think he hates star wars, he just wanted hanging to die to give him deeper characterization with a heroic sacrifice
@@kylepietrusiewicz2749 Yep, he wanted Han to die in the originals for meaning, sacrifice
Fun fact: I live in the same town that Jake Lloyd lived in.
On *many* occasions, his house got TP'd or got hatemail sent to it. Sometimes these hateful fans didn't even get *the right house*. -.-;
poor guy
poor neighbours
I have never heard of Chris Tucker referred to as the human microphone. Perhaps you have him confused with the actor Michael Winslow?
We loved "From Hell" Johnny, you were AWESOME!
Alec Guinness only had a hatred towards Star Wars because people only remembered him for Star Wars and not the amount of amazing movies he was in
CORRECTION - Game of thrones isn't a movie. This video should be titled, "Actors who hate their own ROLES"
That small town in Indiana isn't a small town now. My neighbor was in Jake Floyd's grade and everyone called him "Ani", "Little Vader", "Little Ani", "Ani ani" and "Anikan" according to him.
"and human microphone, Chris Tucker" This has me in stiches man
Alec Guinness though a great actor was born in the wrong era if you ever read his autobiographies. If you just hear the stuff in this video he just comes across as an asshole, and indeed to some extent you could say he was. But if you read it in his own words you quickly realize he was simply born a few generations too late (in his biographies he actually does give credit where credit is due and praises Star Wars for what it did for him, even if he hated the films). I think he would have excelled in the world of early films or even theater before it. But he was a stern traditionalist that believed the moment you grew out of your teen years your life should be devoted solely to work and if you did do anything "fun" it should be socially acceptable matters for a gentleman/women your age.
In short he didn't believe adults should be allowed to have a little kid side to them that still enjoys silly and fun stuff; and I'm sure he's rolling in his grave at our world of games, anime, and pop-corn munching action flicks. I don't agree with him, but I do think it's a matter of him simply not being able to adapt to modern trends rather than him just being some horrible person.
Why doesn't Dinklage, you know, pirate GOT?
Very interesting I did not know that .
Jackie Chan's comments are pretty accurate, though.
Video Title: These actors hate the movies in this list.
First emample: Indifferent, and even a little guilty about not watching the movies.
*Slow Clap*
im surprised you didn't do whats-his-face Patterson from the Twilight movies. He's never made a secret about how much he hated his character and the story line.
Good list though
Bela only play Dracula on film twice, in "Dracula" and "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein". He played him on stage multiple times, but not film. He played a few other vampires in movies, but they weren't Dracula. Also, the first picture you showed was not from "Dracula", it's from "Mark of the Vampire" from 1935. You can tell it's "Mark of the Vampire" by the blood dripping from the top of his face. Also, he didn't actually hate the movie itself, but he did hate the typecasting that came along with it. The only actor that really hated it was David Manners (who was John Harker in the movie), and he refused to ever watch it and would throw out tapes of the film that fans would send him to watch. Just thought I'd let you know.
um excuse me where is Robert Pattinson and his hatred for Twilight
I'm a girl who has never seen 500 days of summer..is there there something wrong with me?
Attas Glen no i haven't seen it either some people just can't grasp the fact that not all girls are romance obsessed
good movie but JGL is right his character does project this idealised fantasy onto Zooey Deschanels character its just that you see it from his point of view and it makes it hard to see what a dumbass he's being.
The Alec Guinnes part was almost shocking... And I feel sorry for Jake Loyd.
Watched Star Wars movies since the age of 3 and weren't aware of these things told in the video.
Nice. I didn't know any of these.
Haven't seen 500 Days Of Summer, don't intend to, and I don't think that costs me my "girl card". Not all of us like stupid, sappy films. I'm more the Star Wars type, and the only thing good to come of the "prequels" was Darth Maul.
Gotta agree with Aldrich Leblanc here. I'm the same, not a fan of stupid sappy rom-coms, they bore me to tears. But (500) Days of Summer is a really good movie, and even though technically it would be classed as romantic-comedy if you went looking for it at Target it is definitely not your typical rom-com. Check it out if you can :)
