There are suggestions from Dutch and German scientists to build two massive dams between the UK and France and between UK and Norway, effectively stopping Northern Europe being flooded. It may sound expensive (and it is) but the cost of not doing anything and then having to relocate tens of millions of people is 10 times more expensive. London will be underwater by 2100 too.
If anyone, Somalia and a few other African nations should be on this list. A number of them have never been very stable, civil wars or tribal loyalties could easily split them up.
As a Canadian I find your reasoning for Canada not being around to be based around a grossly outdated movement. The referendum to leave Canada was back in 1995, well over 20 years ago. Since then the Bloc party has been on a steady decline, seeing both the population of Quebec losing interest and the party losing ground within the government. The 2011 elections saw the Bloc party lose its official party status as they only managed to pick up 4 seats out of 308, well shy of the minimum number of 12. Even the party leader, Gilles Duceppe, failed to keep his seat. The 2015 elections saw the Bloc get only 19.3% of the public vote in Quebec, the lowest in the party's history, and Gilles Duceppe failing to win the riding he ran in.
I just commented something similar I hadn't read yours and you are 100% correct. It's an outdated movement and I doubt that there will ever be a movement as powerful as the one in 1995 and we still lost. People just don't care anymore.
I'm not aware of a western sovereignty movement ... Just so you know, Québec was seriously shafted historically and the sentiment in Québec is still strong, to me there seems to be an actual cause for the sentiment in Québec. I doubt there is as strong a sentiment in the west as there is no actual injustice that was commited against the western provinces.
I found this line dangerous actually. Not because of any political reason but it's scary to think about the water level rising so much in coming years.

While Quebec does have SOME resources to become a separate nation, the rely heavily on Alberta, BC and Ontario to remain afloat. We are already figuring it out. In the Netherlands, global warming is taken seriously and gets its due attention at all levels of government. For examples, see my comment above.
Kiribati is pronounced "kiri-bass". "ti" in the orthography of Gilbertese is always pronounced as "s". One of the islands in the country is called "Kiritimati" substitute "s" for "ti" and you get "Kirismas" which is the Gilbertese way of saying "Christmas".
You will see this same discussion countless times below. Americans pronounce it "Hay-tee"; the rest of the world correctly pronounces it "High-ee-tee" (including people in Haiti whom, I would imagine, ought to know best.)
+Teekeey Misha so you're saying that America is wrong. and the rest of the world is right. I wonder how this happened? like how does English have different pronunciations in different places and why there isn't just one universal way to pronounce it?
I didn't say American was wrong; I said everyone else is right. Your pronunciation may be correct in the USA, but it's not how the rest of the world pronounces it. It amuses me that Americans choose to pronounce something differently than the accepted norm then suggest everyone else pronounces it wrongly.
Sealand is the smallest country in the world and it was set to look at Germany's actions (UK's property) I'm talking about Sealand in those brackets k?
There has never been a nation called Austro-Hungary. There was a state called that, but it was formed by several nations and held together by force. Would you say that there used to be a British Empire nation???
Haha they won't split. Their group is no where near the size as it used to be, and Quebec does not hold as much of the population anymore. This will most likely not happen.
Bakker Almasri You need to be updated Syrian Arab Army with Russian help is claiming territories of the country back along with the Kurds and new Iraqi army.
Yeah maybe taking back a little territory because of their new found momentum, but the truth of the matter all their gains are minimal compared to the losses. Especially when more then 70% of the people don't want the Russians or the old government. It might be a long war but the people of that country are going to win

If Quebec separated from Canada it wouldn't destroy the country. Canada would still exist. Hell my province which gives 10billion/million(cant remember which one) in equalization payments every year wouldn't have to support them.
The quebecians do not have a lot of separatists anymore, mostly do to them electing a separatist government which put in nazi like provincial laws. Other then that Canada is far from divided or on the verge of breaking up, the USA would sooner fall apart then Canada. Really it was a bad choice for this list, if anything Canada will get stronger and more united as time goes on
Quebec separatism is getting less likely to happen as the years go on by. The only reason why it seems like it will separate is because of separatist party which HAS the second LOWEST amount of seats in parliament (after the Greens with only one). Besides, as Chris Donathen said, Canada will be stronger and more united as the years go on.
Perfectly agree. My province( BC) is fine. ( Heck, it could even support a major western powerhouse if it wants to!) if Quebec splits, I think really it won't collapse. ( I live in freaking British Columbia, and when I was at school I learned more about Quebec and aboriginals, then I did my own province or Ontario, the school system is screwed.)
too many assumptions, political views all subjective with little objective value, nothing scientific apart from the sea level rising which again was more assumptive with the statements of the outcomes. complete waste of time. came to see something scientific and objective but was disappointed and frustrated. as people state below, many nations are divided from within and you have only ranted your narrowminded subjective views to the frustration and annoyance of viewers like me
Three Squared maybe if people stopped considering Europe to be the only answer and existent place on earth then they will know the problems are everywhere. Everything is Europe, Europe, Europe!!! quite narrowminded and immature if you think about it. African countries are not the only countries with poverty either. There are homeless people starving even in the first world
Three Squared then why would you think Europe would collapse or united kingdom would collapse? or why did the makers of the video think so, Scotland wants out but they need to become stronger and more independent before they can leave and tie up with another constitution.
okay fine I get wait your saying but i don't really understand the video still but I would understand if it was 30 years but its 100 years , the way global warming is making our planet I'll be surprised if our planet still exists

True, I love America nut I don't really believe that our country will stop using oil has changed our country and our world so much that I don't think that people will give it up that easily and what about our icecaps. If they melt than some animals that are essential to our survival will die because of harmful gasses
As a Canadian, i can tell you that the only people who even consider separating are the french. To be honest, i really dont care if they do. Canada should not be on this list.
THANK-YOU! Don't feel bad some people are just stupid and don't want reasons or facts as of to why said country was up on the list. I'm sure that the same people complaining about you "rambling" are the ones that could read a paragraph then complain that their heads are hurting.
When I think of countries that may not be around (at least in their current forms) by 2115, I think of Ukraine, the Sudans, Libya, Iraq, Yemen, Moldova, Somalia, Afghanistan and North Korea as good top 10 candidates.
Top 5 bogus mentions 5. Holland 4. Thailand 3. Palestine 2. Great Britain 1. Canada I'm from the US, I could see Canada making it farther now that their government has some initiative under Trudeau.
+HenryTheGardener For Canada it really depends. the sovereignty movement is something that could be made stronger or weaker by many events. I agree that under Trudeau it is likely much less of an issue. and even before then the support for independence had declined drastically from the late 90s. But a century is a long time. Wouldn't surprise me if there were some more surprising dissolutions in the coming years.
There is a fundamental error in your commentary. The Country and the Nation are not the same thing, so what you are talking about involves countries not nations. A country is defined by it's geographical location and borders. on the other hand a nation is defined by a specific people with common ancestry, culture etc. that may live in different countries. For example if the Netherlands flood as you predict, this does not mean that the Dutch people will become extinct as a result.
While Quebec is 77% French, Ontario & Manitoba have large French populations, and French is an official language in New Brunswick with 1/3rd French. French is mandatory for school children nationwide. There is more holding Canada together than it would seem. Particularly winter haha
Technically, South Korea (the English name for the country) wouldn’t exist because they would their name would be changed to Korea (the English name not the full name or Korean name) when they annex North Korea.
Yes, but legally there is no such country as "Korea" at this moment in history, no will there be such a country as "South Korea" or "North Korea" when there finally is reunification (or World War III, which ever comes first).
In my experience, most French Canadians I've known actually want to remain French Canadians, and want Quebec to stay a State of Canada. What I have quite often heard from them, is that they just want to keep more of their Quebecker made money from the Federal Government, and cases like that I've known from many states of most countries with federal systems. I wrote "Quebecker" because I've written in English. Had I written in French, then I would've written "Quebecois", but unfortunately I don't speak French.
Just because a country is not named in the video does not mean it will survive past 2115. It is a TOP 10 list of countries that will not survive. That does not mean there will not be more that do not.
I find it passing strange that a video marked as "published" in November of 2015 made prognostications about which countries would not exist by 2015! And even at that, you got most of it wrong. The most glaring example is the Netherlands, which has successfully dealt with the sea for centuries. Sorry Nostradamus, but the Netherlands is still around--and will, in all likelihood, be around long after all of us have shuffled off this mortal coil!
@ about 3:00 (and following)....James V of Scotland had a surviving child who became Queen Mary of Scotland. Her son became James VI of Scotland and, upon QE I's death, he acceded to the English throne as James I.
Sarah Wolff Well you are living in a fantasy world because not only does no one want to secede, no state CAN secede, Texas can split into 5 different states if they wanted to though.
I don't think the USA will fall some states may break away but if we had the original union it's still the USA we don't need all those states but we have them now.
The Dutch will evolve to breathe underwater.
Now would be the time to capitalize on opening up a SCUBA school.
The dutch can colonize the ocean and be the biggest empire
if they live under sea level they must be part fish anyway
Their language sounds as if they are already...

We are already figuring it out. In the Netherlands, global warming is taken seriously and gets its due attention at all levels of government. For examples, see my comment above.
You just sound like a triggered dutchie my friend
I was surprised you never mentioned Belgium or Spain. Belgium always seems to hanging together by a thread.
Thank you! That bothered the hell outta me.
So according to the UN my plan for creating a floating city Anno 2070 ARK style and claiming it as a country won't work eh.
+Sentinalh just paint it green and plant some trees around
It's Haiti not hieatee
+Teekeey Misha oh. mkay.
I'm a Haitian American and the correct pronunciation is what Teekeey said.
Watching this the first time after watching the channel. Simon looks like a high school student
You left out Turkey. The Kurds will soon have their own state in East Turkey.
I'm moving to Sealand! Who wants to join me!
Me!
no
If trump becomes president maybe
Its boring there i live a hour off it.. U have only sea and not many stores
Sealand is the smallest country in the world and it was set to look at Germany's actions (UK's property) I'm talking about Sealand in those brackets k?
Well im dead by then so who cares....
We will all be dead by then...
Are you planning on having children/do you have children?
+George Chlada nah i dont think i want to have children.... already a population growth problem in the world
+MoblieGamingHD Yeah same, my brother would have kids probably so I don't have to worry about the next generation.
+OSIRIS PINK Can I havr children?
There has never been a nation called Austro-Hungary. There was a state called that, but it was formed by several nations and held together by force. Would you say that there used to be a British Empire nation???
OMG Simon - you look so different without the bushy beard we are so accustomed to in recent videos (2021)
just because apart of the country splits doesn't mean they won't be a country in 2115
I think they mean more that it won't be the same as we perceive it now.
Haha they won't split. Their group is no where near the size as it used to be, and Quebec does not hold as much of the population anymore. This will most likely not happen.
Yes but if Brittany split off it would still exist hence the U.K will still exist and Canada w/o quebec
the uk would not exist britain will sure
***** Britain is, Great Britain isn't
What about Syria? The conflict is basically killing the country slowly
+Maximilian Tay The government is claiming it back.
+Imperial Senpai Beware of Liberland
Bakker Almasri You need to be updated Syrian Arab Army with Russian help is claiming territories of the country back along with the Kurds and new Iraqi army.
Yeah maybe taking back a little territory because of their new found momentum, but the truth of the matter all their gains are minimal compared to the losses. Especially when more then 70% of the people don't want the Russians or the old government. It might be a long war but the people of that country are going to win
I could see a regime change, but the countey itself will likely stay.
toptenz: the uk!
me: *chuckles* i’m in danger
Either way Scotland and England will still exist
Simon I've only just seen this old channel of yours... I've never seen you without your beard bro.. I don't know how to feel
The Netherlands? We're better at defending ourself from water than the entire world.
I know right even if this happened, which could only happen if there was a once upon 10000 years storm, we"ll built back quickly and he says the problem is the dams keep the water in, Yeaaaaah no it simply won't come through
than the entire world .... than not then ffs
Luca Blokland A faker you are
Yoda the Destroyer so are you
Luca Blokland Wrong you are. Luca Blokland my is not. Minch my first name is.
If Quebec separated from Canada it wouldn't destroy the country. Canada would still exist. Hell my province which gives 10billion/million(cant remember which one) in equalization payments every year wouldn't have to support them.
Quebec wont separate.
+Billy bansi impossible he gonna have independance accept the truth you stupid anti-french
Seeing past Simon is strange. Keep the beard my man
You look much better with the beard man!
too many assumptions, political views all subjective with little objective value, nothing scientific apart from the sea level rising which again was more assumptive with the statements of the outcomes. complete waste of time. came to see something scientific and objective but was disappointed and frustrated. as people state below, many nations are divided from within and you have only ranted your narrowminded subjective views to the frustration and annoyance of viewers like me
Three Squared that's just a paranoid statement. There are countries out there more divided from within than the UK or Europe
Three Squared alright, will do, thank you 😊
I agree completely. Disagreed with a few of the entries as they sounded way too basic.
Disneyland and Legoland might survive, the rest is doomed.
Germany is ruiniert by Merkel already
Definitely keep the beard dude 😎
Coming back in 2020. Simon with no beard brings me back to a different time...or alternate time
Next on Whatifalthist: What if Simon Whistler never grew a beard.
Video: Canada will die
Me: you're a fool. We can only be made stronger.
And then everyone will be sorry.
No one can go straight with Canada because USA is behind
Alberta wants to be freed
@@kylieakaMinkQueen Like 6 really loud assholes in Alberta want to separate.
@@DoctorSavage you could always try inserting cobs. 🙄
If your watching this in 2016, the year 2115 wont come until 99 years I don't understand this video ?!?!?!?
it was released in 2015, this video explains why some countries might not exist in a 100 years.
okay fine I get wait your saying but i don't really understand the video still but I would understand if it was 30 years but its 100 years , the way global warming is making our planet I'll be surprised if our planet still exists
Lupe Aleman Global warming exists but it wont happen that fast. I know we wont use oil anymore, we'd just be harvetsing the sun and water and wind for resources.
True, I love America nut I don't really believe that our country will stop using oil has changed our country and our world so much that I don't think that people will give it up that easily and what about our icecaps. If they melt than some animals that are essential to our survival will die because of harmful gasses
A lot can happen in 100 years, idk what will happen but we only have theories and hypothesis.
wow, i'm watching this in 2021, i found the channel about 2 years ago. i did not even recognize Simon until he started talking lol
Thank God you grew out that beard Simon. Cheers.
The way he pronounced "Haiti" really bugs me... I don't know why
Ojaswit Luthra And Kiribati, it's pronounced "Kir-e-bas".
+Tahirie Tahirie it could be, I'm not saying its not. I'm simply saying it bugged me for some reason.
Ojaswit Luthra i
Ojaswit Luthra NOT CANADA!!!!!😥😥😥😥😥😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😵😵😵😵😳😳😳😳😳😢😢😢😢😢😢
Me too! It's pronounced Hay-tee, not Hi-tee.
2115? Too far away, lets talk of 2050
I agree
Yeah
“These are the well known nations that will go away: Number 10: Kiribati”...no idea that place existed...
Dear Simon,
thank you for growing a beard.
Yours truly
-a concerned American citizen
Netherlands will Always overcome the water, it is what we do. Just watch this video again in 2115
Ben777 by the Time sea levels are to high we will let or cities flood on the water
Ben777 We'll all be dead mate
Netherlands in 2115:
Is the wall high enough???No we need more than 10 km
Ask trump for help
As a Canadian, i can tell you that the only people who even consider separating are the french. To be honest, i really dont care if they do. Canada should not be on this list.
Exactly this list is so 1996 regarding Canada
I would probably be kind of happy if Quebec left...
+Keith Sauve The qubecians, Even the French think their too arrogant
Frankly I think quebec should leave us or marry us (as the french say) & stop acting like the rest of Canada cares!
Join the confederacy
Haiti was strong for a few years between his independence and the involvement of the US in his politics
THANK-YOU! To talk about Haiti and not mention the interventionist policies of the US and the reasons why Haiti was actively suppressed as the second republic in the Western Hemisphere is doing the audience a great disservice as to why Haiti has experienced the issues it has. It isn’t all about hurricanes and earthquakes
I did not expect the UK or canada to be on this list
Please someone tell me I'm crazy for thinking anyone has the ability to predict destiny's of entire nations like this
Your correct. But it's fun to speculate. But you and I are correct. So let's just have fun anyway.
Because.... "Climate Change!"
They don't know the difference between a country and a nation.
...what is the difference
AnimeCrysCrime A nation is a people and an identity
A country is a mere political entity
For example:Slovakia is a nation and a country
But south sudan is not a nation but is a country
Glad the glasses and beard made their appearance in later videos.
Aawwwwww how cuuute.
It’s amazing how different his look is now.
why is he pronouncing Haiti, "Hi eat tea"?
Because that's how its pronounced
Oh
+Matt Carter proper pronounciation "Hey Tea"
+Dane John Well, all, in French in "ah-EEE-tea" if read with an Engish
tongue, and in Creole is "ah'-YEE-tea", so you English accented "Hey
Tea" is not right.
so how do you pronounce the people of haiti
This video is way to long you ramble way too much
+TopTenz lol trying to hit the 10 minute watch time we see what you did there :p
+TopTenz you forgot belgium
+hikevanossvikkstar why?
+william wenborn in the video
Don't feel bad some people are just stupid and don't want reasons or facts as of to why said country was up on the list. I'm sure that the same people complaining about you "rambling" are the ones that could read a paragraph then complain that their heads are hurting.
I’m surprised he didn’t mention the US. It feels like we’re hurtling toward Balkanization these days
Frankly I've been pushing for my state which borders Canada should seriously consider changing allegiances.
The video is from 2015 before THE GREAT STUPIDIFICATION of 2020. Greetings from the future independent Republic of California... hopefully.
When I think of countries that may not be around (at least in their current forms) by 2115, I think of Ukraine, the Sudans, Libya, Iraq, Yemen, Moldova, Somalia, Afghanistan and North Korea as good top 10 candidates.
Top 5 bogus mentions
5. Holland
4. Thailand
3. Palestine
2. Great Britain
1. Canada
I'm from the US, I could see Canada making it farther now that their government has some initiative under Trudeau.
+A Phillips Prosperity will unite Canada. This will be the first time they've seen any aggressive gains. Like ever.
I think Canada will too
Trudeau is a marxist shit that's trying to copy the EU, the whole thing will end up bad.
+HenryTheGardener Thailand was nowhere in this video dumbass.
South Koreans simply call their country, Korea. They don't make the distinction.
Yes, but legally there is no such country as "Korea" at this moment in history, no will there be such a country as "South Korea" or "North Korea" when there finally is reunification (or World War III, which ever comes first).
U mean when they unify south Korea can't beat North Korea plus North Korea can't beat south korea
CANADA WILL NEVER GO DOWN!!!!
+Mr.Bolt I agree, Quebec may leave one day, but there will still be a Canada.
Go Canada
+Something Cool Sometimes we get blizzards but we DON'T LIVE IN IGLOOS WHAT HAVE YOU AMERICANS GOT INTO?!
EH?
the USA would destroy them
In my experience, most French Canadians I've known actually want to remain French Canadians, and want Quebec to stay a State of Canada.
My, my, Simon was young!
Every single hetalia fan watching this had either a minor freak out or laughed themselves to death at Sealand
@TopTenz, This video just became relevant. Now that the UK voted out. #8
out of the European union
They left EU Einstein. The country is still intact. It's 2 different things.
+TopTenz ummmm The UK may NOT be dead by 2115 so...
+TopTenz What about the maldivies
Ya, you're right but.. what does Scotland have to offer the EU? It's oil resource has dried up - thistles??
Holy hell Simon without the beard and glasses! Can get away with murder with that disguise.
James VI was James I of what became the United Kingdom after the Death of Queen Elizabeth the Great (she was never Queen of Scotland)
When you don't see your country 😍
South Africa live!!!
Just because a country is not named in the video does not mean it will survive past 2115. It is a TOP 10 list of countries that will not survive. That does not mean there will not be more that do not.
Just watch out for dumb missle man
Kerrsey 10 hahaha
You mean mr :b:im juNG OoF?
I find it passing strange that a video marked as "published" in November of 2015 made prognostications about which countries would not exist by 2015! And even at that, you got most of it wrong. The most glaring example is the Netherlands, which has successfully dealt with the sea for centuries. Sorry Nostradamus, but the Netherlands is still around--and will, in all likelihood, be around long after all of us have shuffled off this mortal coil!
I find it strange myself! My apologies!
The Joke ------------------------>
Your head.
@ about 3:00 (and following)....James V of Scotland had a surviving child who became Queen Mary of Scotland. Her son became James VI of Scotland and, upon QE I's death, he acceded to the English throne as James I.
I am so glad you have hair on your face now!
It’s pronounced Kiribus but their ti is pronounced s
Yea he can’t pronounce Haiti either
Where is the United States of America on this list?
Why would the USA disappear?
why would it disappear?
Dalek ShitPoster Because many of the states will separate from the United States of America in the next years for example; Texas.
Ah, yes, the original evolution of the Simon Whistler Pokemon.
Just discovering this video for myself now.
Simon, never shave again, ever...
