When I saw Ted Levine on "Monk", I was shocked by the irony of the fact that the man who played Buffalo Bill was playing a police chief! The poor guy deserved a break after what he went through after "The Silence of The Lambs"
Don't worry about Ted Levine. He's been in all sorts of stuff. American Gangster, Shutter Island, the newest Jurassic World, the Assassination of Jesse James, and those are just the more known ones. And of course, my favorite, an oldie but a goodie, Bullet. He's doing JUST fine.
My heart goes out to the actor that accidently killed Brendan Lee...I know that must have been so hard on him, but I'm glad he's back to acting. His character in "The Crow", was so riveting. RIP Mr. Lee
Umm... when talking about Michael Massee and how he was the one who accidentally killed Brandon Lee, it would be helpful if you used the CORRECT PHOTO of him!!!
Yeah, I only looked at the comments to point that out, then I saw you already have! There are many mistakes in TopTenzNet videos that could easily be sorted out with a review of the finalised video before uploading!
George Reeves was type cast as Superman and had trouble finding work afterwards. To the point I heard his role in another movie was reduced because audiences only saw him as Superman.
Am I one of the few people who actually liked The 13th Warrior? I wouldn't put it in my top 20 action movies, but I thought it was pretty cool. I will say that I first saw The 13th Warrior after seeing Desperado for like, the 10th time, which is the movie that made me think Antonio Bandaras was cool.
Jack Gleeson who played Joffery Baratheon in 'Game of Thrones'! This poor kid must be getting shit everywhere he goes for portraying such a deplorable, despicable character so well.
I loved the movie! I especially like how they filmed the scene where he listens to the Vikings and learns their language, how the dialogue goes from incomprehensible to perfectly clear.
Ted Levine scared the poop outta me, the deepness of his voice too the highs and extremely believable. Never been scared from a movie since I saw that when it came out.
YOu forgot to add one very important thing about Ted Levine. He rose back to stardom playing Capt. Leland Stottlemeyer during the entire run of the hit TV series "Monk".
I'm guilty of the opposite ...I dislike Braveheart because of my strong personal dislike of Mel Gibson. I admit it's ridiculous. I'm working on it. But writing hate letters to Ted Levine for his convincing portrayal of a psychopath in a movie is a whole nuther level of cluelessness... like back in the day when the actor Robert Young played the kindly Doctor Marcus Welby on TV, and housebound widows wrote letters to the much loved actor for medical advice.
+ziffulmyer Your dislike of Mel Gibson effecting your views of his movies isn't ridiculous. I began a personal boycott of his movies due to him being a terrible person and not wanting to support or pay for the work of a terrible person. I used to enjoy Braveheart, but the last time I saw it I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy it so I figured it was better not to bother with his work entirely.
+Reliea Yuell I really don't understand why people get upset and boycott actors. They're almost all shitbags of some degree in some arena. We have people like Gweneth Paltrow doing things like taking on the Food Stamp Challenge and letting a boyfriend by dinner on the side (that's the epitome of vapid) and on the other end we've got people like Mel being racist assholes. They're both pretty shitty hypocrites of their respective ideologies. Way too fucking many of them are. They do all this stuff for charity but for a lot of them it's all just vanity fuel. So I just don't care. I watch a movie and enjoy it, because 9 films out of 10 are going to have somebody that's a shitbag cast in them. Because it's Hollywood, of course they fucking will.
buca117 Eh, it's not like I'm asking anyone else to, or judging other people for not boycotting them, but if I know they're not good people, I'll avoid their work. Being vapid doesn't make you a bad person, but at least in my opinion, being racist does. There aren't many celebs that get exposed as horrible people, so it's a very small circle to avoid, and although there probably are a lot more, most of them we'll probably never know about. I'll take an airhead over a racist any day XD
I think another consideration as an entry for the list is Jake Lloyd - although in his case the backlash of the fans when he played young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode 1 was so great that he burned all his Star Wars memorabilia and never acted again; he's even stated that he no longer likes having cameras in his face.
+x1StapleGun I agree. It's so sad also because he was getting hate when he was still a CHILD. Anyone who gave him hate as a child should be ashamed of themselves. Sure, giving someone hate as an adult is one thing. But giving hate to a child is more traumatizing.

#2 is especially sad. Because it was pure accident and he had no intentions; But still has to live with it for the rest of his life. Must have caused him so much anguish and I wouldn't be surprised if he still lives with some amount of anguish,

I enjoyed the movie "The Lover", and never thought of Jane March negatively for it although I do have a bit of a crush on her. I actually enjoyed "13th Warrior".
Simon, I realize you made this a long time ago, so I doubt you will see this comment. The 13th Warrior was based on a book previously named Eaters of the Dead, by Michael Crichton. Crichton was inspired by numerous telling of Beowulf that he had heard growing up. And that is the story he wanted to write (our hero's name is also Beowulf), but not just as a narrator, but as a scientific person outside of this new culture and being introduced to this culture at the worst possible time. Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan is all of us. It was not a box office success for the same reason high school kids everywhere groan when they are handed a copy of Beowulf. It will never be Earth shattering film making. But it does let you look at Beowulf with new eyes and we need that so badly right now.
I couldn't look at Ron Eldard the same way while watching "Bastard out of Carolina". Redemption came when Michael Rooker as the girls uncle figured it out.
After spending several years doing theatre productions, I can honestly say that I have no trouble separating an actor from a character that they play. It stuns me that there are so many stupid people that can't separate the actor from the role.
Little House on the prairie. The guy who played the baddie in the last episode had to be "pardoned" by Charles Ingalls on film! Otherwise his real life career was in jeapardy. Also: Katherine MacGregor, who played the role of Mrs. Olson MUST have suffered in some way, outside of her role... -just a suggested path to create a part 2 for this video. You're doing a great job, keep it up! :)
I'm surprised not to see Jake Lloyd on here. He played child Anakin in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He has been hated for his role in that movie.

It stuns me that there are so many stupid people that can't separate the actor from the role.
you have one of the nicest voices ever
I didnt know that watching a copious amount of hardcore was a common symptom of serial killers, but Cannibal Corpse's new album is pretty sweet.
13th warrior is one of the best movies of all time
Billy Zane in Titanic? I read once he played the role of Cal Hockley so well it cost him work afterwards.
Calling it, Jake Lloyd for Star Wars Episode 1
YES!
+tabitha alvarado I was amazed he wasn't on this list!

+Halcyon you're not the only one surprised here lol
Little House on the prairie.
The guy who played the baddie in the last episode had to be "pardoned" by Charles Ingalls on film! Otherwise his real life career was in jeapardy. Also: Katherine MacGregor, who played the role of Mrs. Olson MUST have suffered in some way, outside of her role...
-just a suggested path to create a part 2 for this video. You're doing a great job, keep it up! :)
Andy Robinson had a lot of trouble getting work after he played the Scorpio killer in "Dirty Harry". He also got a lot of death threats.
I'm surprised not to see Jake Lloyd on here. He played child Anakin in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He has been hated for his role in that movie.
Heath ledger. After batman I realised he was an amazing actor. Then he died
The 13th warrior was an awesome movie
13th warrior was a great movie. nobody should be ashamed of acting in it.
They actor that played Laura Palmer's dad on Twin Peaks has freaked me out for years.
