@@matthew-jy5jp - Bruce went out into the world and made a name for himself by achieving his goals in such a short time. Just by this posting alone proves that he's still being talked about 50 years later by people who will never come close to what he achieved or his legacy. These naysayers are just a fart in the wind. LOL!
Idk if Bruce Lee had youtube he would kick everyone's ass with knowledge and fighting If he doesn't overuse or abuse drugs cuz Bruce Lee had a drug addiction. Bruce would be doing mma& showing off his moves on social media
Bruce Lee was one of the most uniquely gifted and talented individuals who ever walked the face of the earth. We’re fortunate he lived in an era that could capture him on film. He wasn’t merely a martial artist. He was legitimately a genius. Yet, not only was he a genius, he was also phenomenally charismatic. Bruce had a unique constellation of gifts and all of his gifts became manifest to the world through his inexhaustible spring of determination and drive.
There's a group of young men that have been studying the classic martial arts movies from the 70s and 80s. These young men created a RUclips channel called martial club. I've watched them for almost 7 years and the youngest member Andy Le was put in the movie Shang Chi as the movies head assassin. He then went on to co star in Michelle Yos everything everywhere all at once. Your observations on martial artists and there careers are enlightening and insightful. Thank you for keeping your channel beyond real
Bruce's stardom and success became a thing because martial arts was not mainstream and was very niche until he put it on the map and popularized it, same thing can be said with Arnold and bodybuilding. Now these things are in the general mainstream consciousness in all kinds of mediums, so the wow and unique factor isn't as prominent as it was. You can still def see a measure of success and notoriety regarding martial arts films and stars but it's not something that would take over the mainstream nor transcend Bruce's "Immortal" legendary status because what Bruce did along with his films and philosophy is just classic with its own special and unique vibe that can't be replicated (only imitated ranging from decent to poorly lol) therefore his appeal will always be around and it remains special and unique.
Martial arts is pretty big today, and very popular, much of which came from Bruce Lee's influence. However, martial arts isn't that big quite yet. Sure it's big, but it's not to a point where almost every person you know is well trained in self defense.
No martial artist before or since has achieved Bruce's intensity, uniqueness or screen presence. One of the most remarkable and influential men of the 20th century. The man was in a league of his own.
no martial artist before or since has achieved Bruce's intensity? Yea you never heard of Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, Mighty Mouse Jonson LOOL pretty sure they matched his intensity lol
It’s really crass and unintelligent to even compare Bruce to today Because without Bruce things wouldn’t be how they are today Tens of thousands of people only started training in martial arts because of Bruce Lee, myself included. I’m not a fanboy though I’m under no illusions that Bruce was invincible or even the greatest ever but I do think he was ahead of his time and a visionary The world is a much better place having had Bruce in it
Most people today still don't understand Bruce Lee . Bruce Lee was a perfectionist. To improve himself everyday . To become the best at everything he does especially in acting 🎭, in health , in fitness, martial artist , in business, and etc.. If Bruce didn't make it in Hollywood, than he would go somewhere to make his fame just like in China . Our society today live on the internet where martial arts is not important as it once was . Alot of the old martial artist are getting too old and dying out . Why would anyone learn to fight when they can fight on the PlayStation, Xbox , PC , and etc ........ In order for Martial Arts, boxing , wrestling , and etc.... to grow , you need superstars . Without them everything would die . Right now i don't see any superstars raising to the top . I do agree , Hollywood is to blame for the lack of martial artists and racism especially towards Asians that i am starting to understand . I would have thought Bruce Lee put an end to racism towards Asians , but i guess i am wrong . Racism is still alive .
Around the 10:00 mark, you pointed out the thing that I thought when this video popped up. The intangible effect of Bruce's death in his mythos. Bruce went to Hong Kong because he couldn't launch his career (effectively) in Hollywood. He never saw his own worldwide fame. Think of all the actors, musicians or athletes that died young and locked their image as perpetually young, never having over stayed their welcome. He's popular 50 years after his death because he didn't have to do Enter The Dragon 7 at 65.
In my opinion, the main reason why there cannot be another Bruce Lee is that actors like Donnie Yen or Jackie Chan just do NOT have the screen presence of Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee would tear the screen apart with sheer screen presence!
These other actors have a different type of screen presents a different type of charisma because that’s what human beings are. This has little to do with screen presents. It has more to do with Hollywood’s refusal to have any major stars that aren’t Caucasian looking. Donny Yen could’ve easily played an Ethan Hunt type of character in Mission impossible just change the name. But I guess having Ving Rhames in the movie was the only ethnic presence they felt they needed.
As usual another very thoughtful video. I believe Bruce was successful because he had a mission. It was not to be an actor in a movie. He wanted to use that medium to spread his message. Would he be a Star today? Who knows but where would we be if there never was a Bruce Lee?
@@bradmiles1984in todays world, the boy would have likely never experienced the hardships and sense of racial limbo he did in 50's hk to train in wing chun. Likely never would have traveled a boat to the US or needed to use his raw emotion to make something of his life. 🤷🏻♂️🙏 Similar could be said about Sammo, Jackie and Yuen. What era's 🙌
With that charisma & ability he would be. This is why he's still so popular today because not many stars of our time stand out like he did & still does.
Well.... He was into drugs and had affairs on Linda so his morals weren't the purest. Lee was awesome but he still had his inner demons just like other celebs in his day.
Character and morals? Oh you mean his addiction to cocaine and other drugs and the multiple affairs with other women he had while Linda was home taking care of the kids.
@@wolfdreamer..he wasn't "addicted to cocaine",, how many actors have done a little cocaine to deal with the 22 hour days? But they don't take it home with them...
Compared to the other industry puppets, Bruce was well aware of the shenanigans. He basically told how the industry works in Game of death ☠️💀. I rather remember him as the man that brought awareness to martial arts 🥋 and basically the pioneer of MMA. Be water 🌊 my friend 😎💥🌟💯🗿
There are at least a FEW things NOBODY can take away from Lee; ONE: Nobody will EVER have the effect on the Martial Art Community like Bruce did.....not EVER! TWO: Although someone MIGHT come along who has a Similiar Photogenicy, both Physically, AND, Emotionally ( though I Highly doubt it) there will Never be anyone who could SURPASS Lee's Sheer Animal Magnetism THREE; Since Bruce's time, many excellent Martial Artists have emerged. There will NEVER be anyone who can INSPIRE us the way Bruce did; In FACT, to this very DAY-----Many THOUSANDS use, not only his inspiration, but his TECHNIQUES! Wing Chun, for example.....think what you WANT about the "Style." But Many Artists find GREAT benefit from it, even TODAY.....50 years Later! Including.....ME!
1 and 3) I wouldn't go that far, there are others who have had similar effects on the martial arts community in terms of getting people into them. Look at the gracies with putting brazilian jiujitsu on the map with the early ufc wins. It went from something localized to Brazil to now all around the world. This isn't to take anything away from Bruce but many others have shaped the martial arts world in massive ways. He did what he did in his time and with his movies but others have picked up the torch and continued it on.
If Bruce Lee was around today he would be an old man and BIGGER than ever because of his legendary legacy. Admirers would've LOVED to have met Bruce Lee after the release of Enter The Dragon. And the Game of Death would've been complete.
Sir, on the contrary, a martial artist only gets better over time or becomes perfect in every way and adds to his ability, if he or she, so desires! I believe Bruce Lee, would better himself and if Hollywood got in his way, then surely, he would find a way to show the world the perfect way, not to say he wasn't right at perfect anyway!
You can say the same for Picasso's Cubism or Salvador Dalí's Surrealism. They were the first in an art form that immortalized them for generations to come and inspire many. Like Bruce Lee they are all “often imitated, never duplicated”.
it's like saying the Beatles or Elvis wouldn't make it today but the thing to remember without their input at the time the world would be a completely different place, there would be no existing martial arts movie industry, so yes Bruce would be starting from scratch, just like he did back then...
Bruce would be so popular today as a coach, mentor, entrepreneur, and actor in his own or other people's movies, despite his age. He had already established his legacy and would be in high demand all over the world. I believe had he still been living he would even make sequals to Return of the Dragon and Enter The Dragon. If Brandon were also around he would make films with his father. So many possibilities and "what if's" if Bruce were still around.
"I believe had he still been living he would even make sequals to Return of the Dragon and Enter The Dragon". I dont think so. He wrote down in 1973 or so he believed the Martial Arts movie boom would be over around 1975, so he didnt give it a long time. Sure he was wrong about that. But i am very sure he wouldnt be interested in milking a cow too much, like Stallone did with "Rocky" (now "Creed 3") or "First Blood" (Rambo). I liked Creed 2 because we know what did happen with Drago, but overall this franchise (Rocky) gets milked way too much. Stallone played Rambo now 5 times and Rocky 7 times. I dont think Bruce would have portrayed Tang Lung or Lee that often.
@@chrisbach1533 I agree. He may not have stretched it as far as Stallone did with his movies. He would be more creative with his projects. He was a perfectionist, so anything he worked on and lent his name to would have to be outstanding. But Bruce would have created other roles for himself in addition to having a global brand which spread into other industries such as sports and fitness and health and wellness. His options would be practically unlimited. Stallone, being an actor script/screenwriter, and director also, has carved himself a nice niche in the industry, and has cashed some pretty big checks along the way. So, he's not going to tamper with a successful franchise. In the movie industry, the producers prefer to invest in a winning and profitable formula than to invest in something new which may or may not be a box office hit. Of course, Bruce would've been involved with the top producers of the day and would have so many options to expand into other fields as I stated before.
Yes thats all possible. So or so something about the argument of that lady who wrote the article, about it would be more difficult today etc.: Do you know Matthias Hues? He played the bad guy in some movies and is as tall as Dolph Lundgren, he is German. Just a couple weeks ago, a german movie producer filmed a new Martial Arts movie named "The Last Kumite", its filmed mostly in Germany. Cynthia Rothrock is in it, so is Kurt McKinney ("Jason" from "No Retreat No Surrender"), Billy Blanks, the son of Bolo Yeung and some others. In an interview with a german RUclips channel named "Ungeschnitten" ("Uncut"), Hues said when Tobey Maguire was Spider Man in 2001 or so, the "strong guys" in Hollywood including Martial Arts stars were told this is the end of marital arts and action movies, now the "time of the softies" with Maguire as Spider Man has started. Accoring to Hues, Stallone was so frustrated he went on and play Golf on daily base for months, he was done. But also guys like Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal etc. didnt like this new "age of the softies". But they knew it was over. Sure Stallone gave the old action cinema a comback with "The Expendables", but all in all the MA and Action genre is death, simply because today people like softies, but also because of too much CGI. I mean look Angelina Jolie. Sure she is so damn hot but skilled as actress too, but she became only such an action superstar because of CGI, in all her movies CGI rules, be it "Tomb Rider", "Wanted" or whatever. She never had the martial arts skills like Cynthia Rothrock to be in a Martial Arts Hong Kong movie. Means: You had to have real martial arts skills to got cast in a Hong Kong Martial Arts movie, no CGI, no tricks, only reality as much as possible. At least most of it, of course they were also supernatural things like Wuxia, when ppl fly through the air etc., but we all know a 25 or 35 yrs old Cynthia would wipe the floor with a 25 or 25 Angie in a street fight, simply because Cynthia has real life MA skills. Angelina is very good with butterfly knifes through, but not with punches, kicks etc.. But yeah i am very excited for "The Last Kumite". :)
@@chrisbach1533 Well, the action movie industry has sure come a long way from the old Kung Fu movies with period Chinese garb and the like. I don't necessarily think the Kung Fu movie genre is completely dead due to the popularity of movies like John Wick and Jack Reacher and also The Equalizer, which feature martial arts fight scenes, and due to the popularity of MMA events. Even the superhero movies feature some form of martial arts fight scenes. So I believe the martial arts movie genre has evolved and adapted to the current audience's tastes for action. Stallone is getting up there in age, so he should be resting up. I believe he'll continue acting despite his age much like Robert Deniro has remained relevant into old age. But his scenes will be more toned down to the point of throwing an occasional punch here and there.
In the end Bruce Lee was a phenomenal athlete and martial artist. He was so iconic that he made martial arts film’s popular. Not the other way around at least in my opinion
Very interesting, and thought provoking video. Without Bruce, the direction Martial Arts films have taken would never have happened. There are many Martial Artists, who would not be that right now. The Man shaped part of the world's future, in more then one way. For that I'm grateful for his influence. Thanks for the upload. I enjoyed it.
Very good. Another thing too is people don't know how the world would have been if Bruce Lee never existed. Because of him 50 years ago things are different now. So who's to say what would have happened.
As always, very well researched and great insight. I'm not going to lie, when I saw the title of this video, I was about to unsubscribe. But your responses to that article were perfect. It's not even guaranteed that MMA would exist as it does today without the influence of a Bruce Lee in the 1960's. And he's inspired many of us, who earn a living in careers outside of Hollywood. Thanks for all you do.
Prince, I appreciate your ardor in your videos. You raise solid points to the deluge of fluffy arguments on social media. Your closing comment on this video is perhaps the most salient point of all: Bruce Lee became the standard by which all martial artists are compared. But prior to his fame there was no one else and for Lee to become the standard, he would have to (as he said in the Pierre Button interview) just be Bruce Lee. As long as martial arts people strive to meet his abilities as the standard, they will rob us of being the next phenomenon. Steve McQueen was not following someone else’s model to movie stardom. Although James Coburn suggested that Lee use a strategy similar to Clint Eastwood’s to gain leverage into American movies, Lee did not copy Eastwood’s characters. Lee presented himself as if he were the character in the stories of his films. This is cinematic artistry and a total break from the exploitation mode of the Asian film industry of the mid 1900’s. I think your work is perhaps one of the most daring and honest on the subject of Bruce Lee along with Alex Richter’s KFG podcasts. I look forward to more work from you.
I always thought if Lee were alive, he'd be casted as: · Takuma Tsurugi in The Street Fighter · Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid · Ip Man in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story · Morpheus in The Matrix · Master Shih-Fu in Kung Fu Panda
Much respect to Lawrence Fishburne, but imagine if Bruce Lee had been “Morpheus” in The Matrix Trilogies? He would’ve been only 57 years old. OMG what that would have been like…🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@BobbyFett3994 Morpheus would actually fit Bruce Lee in many ways including dialogue, after all: The role was originally planned for Jackie Chan. Also, imagine his son Brandon Lee co-starring as Neo.
@@BobbyFett3994 sorry Fishburne is the only man capable of that role. He has a stage presence, the charisma, and the mystery that surrounds the character Morpheus played by Fishburn blends into the matrix Bruce would definitely stand out. He would be a casting mistake in that role in my opinion.
You can't compare things 50 years apart...He would be a different " style " of person.... He was so highly motivated and self-assured that he would have thrived in any generation in any field he picked..... You pick the highest level of person in any sport... competition...they would still be the best because of the Drive they have to be the Best...
Many people do not realise how hard was it for Bruce to be popular in the States on those days- as a man of Chinese origin. I think that his passion, his stubbornness and persistence would have helped him achieve the fame, even today. Well, nowadays, the true martial arts movies are disappearing and they are replaced by action movies with martial arts fighting scenes but even despite that, he could make it. Look at the fight in the Mission Impossible 5 ( in the toilet room ) - viewers voted it the best scene in the movie ! It means that audience is still hungry for well-done fight scenes. And by the way, maybe thanks to the Internet, he could have been even more popular now than in the past. Who knows ?
This video is one of the best you have put out yet in clearing up a lot on the life, myths, and lies about the late great Bruce Lee. Thank you for continuing to share the truth about Bruce Lee and martial arts.
Bruce Lee once said that a person should be like water and adjust. He would be like water today and adjust to all modern requirements of film industry.
Bruce Lee's style and footwork was on another level. If he didn't know how to fight I 'd say he knew how to look like the perfect fighter. Most actors can't capture that raw technical expression he portrayed in his films. Heck he even made his own fighting style that appealed to millions while doing it. Wesley Snipes in Blade, Tony Jaa in Ong Bak, and Donnie Yen in Ip man were like tributes to that style of charisma.
Tell that to the women following him online. A few years ago, you could almost have a conversation with him. He still replies to me, but his fan club exploded. You also don't seem to understand that Lewis is an actor. He can only do what the director/stunt coordinator/etc tells him to do. His very brief fight in the Shadow & Bone finale was one of the best parts of the entire series
No one can change the history, they are still will be a legend in every time they born. Bruce lee, muhammad ali, elvis or jimmy hendrix become a legend not becouse their ability. There is mounten above the mounten. But they become a legend becouse their spirit.
First of all, the interest in martial arts has not faded. It’s increased and I’m pleasantly surprised that the western homegrown art of boxing is taking the martial arts world by storm. You can’t go online without seeing a short featuring boxing footwork tactics heavy bag work or sparring, but I digress. Bruce Lee and martial arts will never die because of African-Americans. It’s not spoken of a lot but I personally feel African-Americans are the reason for the popularity of kung fu films in the past particularly Bruce Lee. I remember back in the day in the 70s those theaters were populated by African-Americans primarily and Latinos let me get respect to them also I’m not saying that white people didn’t like martial arts movies, but it was a staple as far as black entertainment was concerned we’ve always loved anyone who could kick butt in a stylized way, which is why we love Bruce Lee so much no one looked better kicking butt than Bruce Leeand he still be a star today just because of that fact alone to borrow Jim Kelly’s line I don’t think Bruce would worry about it because he’d be too busy looking good
Rather than try and propose 8 Reasons why Bruce Lee would NOT be a Star Today; it's actually easier to inquire with 80 Different Countries and hear 80 Different Reasons why Bruce Lee remains the same Star and Icon that he remains today!! Even Donnie Yen gives props to Bruce! Great Breakdown as always Sir!!
Respect Big Bruh. Love FAM. There's only 1 defining answer...He is not physically*here" to pass the baton to the next guy. He would express to us all the time that "The Old Bruce IS dead...I AM The New Bruce!!!!" That's why there will never be another... at least to me. Thanks U Bruh. Keep putting out great content and asking greater questions in the title.😊😌🙏😌😊
Good vid. Also good to see Arnold is doing well. I use to compete in different divisions at tournaments on east coast with him. I never got the chance compete against him, but admired his top tier ability of doing aerials.
That article is hypothetical considering Bruce paved the way...there has been martial artist post bruce lee...the 80s and 90s were the prime of martial arts movies the Chuck Norris, Steven Sagals, Jackie Chans, Van damme, Jet Li ..everyone reached their prime but the success just wasn't on the same level as Bruce...look at Michael jordan he has played basketball in over 20yrs and all the superstars post Jordan era still didn't reach his overall level of success
I believe Bruce would have eventually branched out and tried other roles. I can definitely see him jumping in comedy and maybe even thrillers. Too bad we will never get to see his full potential.
@@Robd07 NO DOUBT!! Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, Tony Jaa, Cecep Arif Rahman, Yayan Ruhian, and Iko Uwais. All of them in the same movie or series of movies? Oh, yeah…💯
Bruce would still be a star simply because of his incredible charisma, personality and character things that alot of actors lack today. Also these so called journalists have proven time and time again that they dont know what they are talking about and always want to try diminish what the fans and normies want. They always think they know whats best and always proven wrong and when they are proven wrong they double down and insult the audience and then here comes the name calling and review bombing any movie from a star they dismissed
I'd argue Bruce would be a BIGGER star today for the same reasons he became a star back then: He was someone who TRANSCENDED his professions with a personality and vision and message that connected with EVERYONE. The things he said and did in his lifetime, the stories about him, have only grown with time like modern-day mythology, much of it through word of mouth, so had he access to today's technology and social media, he'd be all over the frigging place as an influencer extraordinaire, his postings frequently going viral because what he says and does has real substance. It has MEANING. In a pop culture where shallowness and shock value and the flavor of the moment is king-where people do whatever they can to pimp their latest project, however awful it might be-Bruce's wisdom, insight, honesty, integrity, articulateness, and overall realness would make him stand out more than ever. Seriously, how many athletes or actors or celebrities are considered great thinkers, people to be listened to over and over again and who affect how others think about the world and live their lives? I like Donnie Yen as much as the next guy, but do I look up his interviews as sources of inspiration and counsel? Is the latest MMA champion a role model beyond being able to whoop ass, and will they be remembered for anything other than whooping ass? And aside from the variety and depth of things Lee offered to the public, he knew how to market the hell out of it. His style wasn't just visible in his physicality and speech and clothing and filmmaking; it was in his handwriting, business cards, training equipment, the plaques that hung in his school, you name it. In today's world where so many celebs are looking to put out their own line of whatever, I could see him dominating department stores and online sales as much as he did the box office (can anyone say, "Jun Fan Cologne: The Scent of the Dragon," lol?). And what about all the books and videos and online courses he could release on martial arts, fitness, philosophy, self-help, self-marketing, acting, filmmaking, etc.? I imagine the Lee logo/brand becoming one of the most recognized and respected on the planet, because as aggressive as he was about promoting and selling himself and whatever he did, he was equally aggressive about everything meeting his ridiculously high standards. And were he faced with situations like when Warner Bros wanted to cut all the philosophy from Enter the Dragon, I'm quite sure he'd weaponize social media to get his way, making the tools of the 21st century part of his JKD arsenal. Oh, and then there's the fact that he could've run for governor of California or president. I know who I'D vote for.
Thing is, with all the points made in the article, Bruce Lee could have adapted to the current situation (i.e. "Be like water") and still achieved the same success today. Yes, the film industry may have changed, but so could Bruce have changed to adapt.
Golden bell training Bruce Lee was a legend in his own right we are going to surpass him in our own way by becoming legends ourselves and stars. Here is my second comment.
That woman has a very shallow outlook on things. Bruce Lee played Kato (they made a modern remake of Kato in recent times and it was a hit). Even lots of video games were inspired by Bruce Lee.
Your correct about most people arent aware of Bruces movies.....he made 20 films before he left Hong Kong. Interesting one of his memorable characters appears to be the tough street urchin that many people believe he was and not growing up rich with a personal driver.
They weren't really rich; they were very well off as a result of their father's real estate deals. Their servants were really a poor family Bruce's father allowed to live with them Bruce wasn't in the streets like the fan boys claim, but when he didn't have movies or martial arts to keep him occupied, he was getting into trouble
This subject reminds me of my personal favorite movie quote... "It is like a finger pointing a way to the moon, Don't concentrate on that finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory". for the naive, It (an accomplished master or teacher/sensei) is like a finger pointing a way the moon (the personal goal, whatever that goal is), Don't concentrate on that finger (Don't copy or aim to emulate) or you will miss all that heavenly glory (the fruits of your labor and reward of of achievement).
he made it. That's what matter this would could should bullshit conversation is for losers we keep talking about him after 50 years because he simply was the best on his thing
There are endless questions / possibilities of what could or would have happened if bruce was still alive today. It makes you wonder how many more movies bruce would have achieved to this day, how many more students worldwide, and if he could have prevented his son Brandon been shot or murdered on set. It truly makes you wonder how many Hollywood actors would also be students of bruce, he truly was the most electrifying dynamic human being on the planet, both mentally / physically. He was light years ahead of anybody else, and you can bet your bottom dollar, Quentin (Tarantino) certainly would not have portrayed bruce the way he did in (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.) Although Brad Pitt refused the original screen play to beat up Bruce Lee to a pulp for 5 mins, Tarantino was forced to rewrite the scene due to Brad Pitts refusal, which i found very admiral and compelling. It also makes you wonder how proud Bruce would have been to see the likes of, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Donny Yen, etc etc. Become hollywood royalty. There is so much more to add here, This is just a quick run down. 🤗
Maybe today he'd use social media/internet instead, at least in part. It's easier to create and to spread ideas today more than ever, without needing the movie production machine to fund it and spread it around. Imagine Bruce Lee's YT channel lol.
Hey Bro! Great episode!! You touched on soooo many truths here!! Different world now since 1973! But as I say that aside from his Martial Arts Bruce Lee is such a fascinating story with many anecdotes to pull from!! Keep up the good work!!
In Our Minds Great things In A Lifetime really only happen once Bruce Lee is a once in A Lifetime Happining I would never say There can't Be another Great Great Martial Artist But None Like Bruce ever Again
There can never be another Bruce Lee! Enuff said! He was in a class all by himself. I think his career would have been better in today's times. For real!
I believe that If he'd lived, he would have added on to his success. He would have continued to evolve like the movies that followed his pattern attempt to do
That dubbing thing I don’t know too much about, but with podcasting live streaming and other Internet stuff that I don’t know too much about he wouldn’t have any problems making his presence known or trending as they call it today. Bruce Lee used the technology of his day to his advantage, if he was around today, it stands the reason he would use the technology. We have now to his advantage as well. As far as casting is concerned, Bruce Lee possessed that intangible intuitive cannot be taught, but definitely recognizable thing called charisma. There was something about him that was magnetic. He didn’t have to even speakor move you just wanted to watch him. Don’t tell me that he wouldn’t get cast today. Obviously this reporter has a slanted view of Bruce and sees him as a one dimensional character who all can do is punch or kick
When you think of basketball, you think of Jordan. When you think of genius, you think of Einstein. When you think of martial arts, you think of Bruce Lee. NOBODY looks like martial arts like Bruce Lee.
Bruce lee would change with the times and he was not like the others Bruce Lee had the power to go on doing things of all kinds of things not just movies

Bruce Lee would be the man today no matter what era!!!!

Ive seen him hes a big fan of bruce Lee he even remade a part of fist of fury
You make excellent points. I was thinking the exact same thing about Arnold’s.
No martial artist before or since has achieved Bruce's intensity, uniqueness or screen presence. One of the most remarkable and influential men of the 20th century. The man was in a league of his own.
You are correct Bruce Lee Was an icon. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
no martial artist before or since has achieved Bruce's intensity? Yea you never heard of Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, Mighty Mouse Jonson LOOL pretty sure they matched his intensity lol
@@RavenBlaze420 we are talking about cinema
@@johncarroll772 you clearly stated No martial artist not No Hollywood martial artist. I think you said exactly as you meant
@@RavenBlaze420 lts obvious lm responding to a video about martial arts stars in cinema.
It’s really crass and unintelligent to even compare Bruce to today
Because without Bruce things wouldn’t be how they are today
Tens of thousands of people only started training in martial arts because of Bruce Lee, myself included. I’m not a fanboy though I’m under no illusions that Bruce was invincible or even the greatest ever but I do think he was ahead of his time and a visionary
The world is a much better place having had Bruce in it
This is another prime example why I am disgusted in the modern society
Who knows but where would we be if there never was a Bruce Lee?
good point homie. .
I feel like today he'd more likely try the pro fighter route or be running an MMA gym.
@@bradmiles1984in todays world, the boy would have likely never experienced the hardships and sense of racial limbo he did in 50's hk to train in wing chun. Likely never would have traveled a boat to the US or needed to use his raw emotion to make something of his life. 🤷🏻♂️🙏
Similar could be said about Sammo, Jackie and Yuen. What era's 🙌
Bruce was extremely successful marketing himself. I think he would have done fine today.
With that charisma & ability he would be. This is why he's still so popular today because not many stars of our time stand out like he did & still does.
Good thing he's still legendary and iconic. Besides, it was his character and morals that really moved people.
@@wolfdreamerRight said👌He was definitely a narcisst.
There are at least a FEW things NOBODY can take away from Lee;
ONE:
Nobody will EVER have the effect on the Martial Art Community like
Bruce did.....not EVER!
TWO:
Although someone MIGHT come along who has a Similiar Photogenicy,
both Physically, AND, Emotionally ( though I Highly doubt it) there will
Never be anyone who could SURPASS Lee's Sheer Animal Magnetism
THREE;
Since Bruce's time, many excellent Martial Artists have emerged. There
will NEVER be anyone who can INSPIRE us the way Bruce did; In FACT,
to this very DAY-----Many THOUSANDS use, not only his inspiration, but
his TECHNIQUES!
Wing Chun, for example.....think what you WANT about the "Style." But Many
Artists find GREAT benefit from it, even TODAY.....50 years Later!
There will NEVER be anyone better than Bruce Lee
Much love ! I appreciate everything you do for this channel 💪
So or so something about the argument of that lady who wrote the article, about it would be more difficult today etc.:
Do you know Matthias Hues?
With All due Respect To Sijo Lee Bruce has been gone for 50 years ..We should honor his memory
Your Awesome And your Videos and Commentary is Always Awesome
Always a pleasure to hear your stories and insights and truth based info on Bruce. Thank you for all you do.
I always thought if Lee were alive, he'd be casted as:
· Takuma Tsurugi in The Street Fighter
· Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid
· Ip Man in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story
· Morpheus in The Matrix
· Master Shih-Fu in Kung Fu Panda
Much respect to Lawrence Fishburne, but imagine if Bruce Lee had been “Morpheus” in The Matrix Trilogies? He would’ve been only 57 years old. OMG what that would have been like…🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥
*Laurence Fishburne
@@BobbyFett3994
Morpheus would actually fit Bruce Lee in many ways including dialogue, after all: The role was originally planned for Jackie Chan.
Also, imagine his son Brandon Lee co-starring as Neo.
Can’t see him as Morpheus, but I can definitely see him as the key master in the matrix the master program that protects the oracle
He would be both. His philosophy and his way of just being would still apply.
You can't compare things 50 years apart...He would be a different " style " of person.... He was so highly motivated and self-assured that he would have thrived in any generation in any field he picked..... You pick the highest level of person in any sport... competition...they would still be the best because of the Drive they have to be the Best...
Enjoyed this video, thank you Prince.
Amazing video. Thanks for broadening my view of martial arts.
May be going out on a limb here...
However, I believe, if alive today...Mr. Lee would find a way😉👍
😎✌👍❤🖖
You basically summarized all the words I would’ve put into a comment 💯
Bruce Lee once said that a person should be like water and adjust. He would be like water today and adjust to all modern requirements of film industry.
If Bruce did live longer he would conquer the 70s,80, and 90s
Keanu reeves is mixed. He's Eurasian, sort of, so he didn't have to be another bruce lee. Keanu is keanu.
Often imitated but can't be duplicated.
The thing with Lewis Tan is that he has no charisma and his martial arts is generic, unlike Bruce Lee.
I remember back in the day in the 70s those theaters were populated by African-Americans primarily and Latinos let me get respect to them also I’m not saying that white people didn’t like martial arts movies, but it was a staple as far as black entertainment was concerned we’ve always loved anyone who could kick butt in a stylized way, which is why we love Bruce Lee so much no one looked better kicking butt than Bruce Leeand he still be a star today just because of that fact alone to borrow Jim Kelly’s line I don’t think Bruce would worry about it because he’d be too busy looking good
Absolutely not true. Jackie Chan became a huge star in the modern era and lets face it Bruce is way better
It doesn't matter !!!
He's a MASTER !!!!!

Bruce Lee is like WATER.....meaning he would adapt and be a greater LEGEND..
I will always believe that Bruce Lee is deafening to be one of the top fighters in this stage
9:42 Look at that 0,2 s. hook...
Brandon Lee was set to be a mega star too.
Very good article. This article is thought provoking.
Yes Bruce Lee would, no 1 now can match Bruce Lee and his skills.
I believe Bruce would have eventually branched out and tried other roles. I can definitely see him jumping in comedy and maybe even thrillers. Too bad we will never get to see his full potential.
He def would have done a movie with Jackie Chan in the 80s!
@@Robd07 NO DOUBT!! Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, Tony Jaa, Cecep Arif Rahman, Yayan Ruhian, and Iko Uwais. All of them in the same movie or series of movies? Oh, yeah…💯
I said it before, and I'll say it again: *GREAT CHANNEL, BRO!!*
Absolutely He would
Bruce would still be a star simply because of his incredible charisma, personality and character things that alot of actors lack today.
I feel "like him" to him was never enough. Being Him was everything.
I could imagine bruce lee in a comedy movie like rush hour or something similar.
I agree. I can def see him in an action comedy movie
Love your Bruce Lee artwork
Pleaze make them into tshirts
Thing is, with all the points made in the article, Bruce Lee could have adapted to the current situation (i.e. "Be like water") and still achieved the same success today. Yes, the film industry may have changed, but so could Bruce have changed to adapt.
he was supernatural, blessed like Michael Jordan in nba, few people in world history had that gift. So he is legend, strongest man alive ever
MJ actually played in the NBA.
Even lots of video games were inspired by Bruce Lee.
that chat GPT line was a nice slap sir
Your correct about most people arent aware of Bruces movies.....he made 20 films before he left Hong Kong. Interesting one of his memorable characters appears to be the tough street urchin that many people believe he was and not growing up rich with a personal driver.
They weren't really rich; they were very well off as a result of their father's real estate deals.
Their servants were really a poor family Bruce's father allowed to live with them
Bruce wasn't in the streets like the fan boys claim, but when he didn't have movies or martial arts to keep him occupied, he was getting into trouble
Great Video.
He's the GOAT for achieving it 1st .he was a Kung Fu innovator. Jeet kun do!
Maybe it's because I've never heard anyone not regard Bruce Lee as the best!
Thanks for this and all your posts I've been watching for years, love you and your stuff.
Prince, you have me liking Bruce Lee even more now.
Mission Accomplished. 👍
Don't forget Blind Fury is a Zotoichi reinterpretation movie.
Bruce Lee would have been a star today, or in any era for one simple reason . . . he was Bruce Lee.
If Bruce lee was in his prime today. He be just another guy.
Fight flicks ain't like it was in early 2000s
There can never be another Bruce Lee! Enuff said! He was in a class all by himself. I think his career would have been better in today's times. For real!
I believe that If he'd lived, he would have added on to his success. He would have continued to evolve like the movies that followed his pattern attempt to do
When all's said and done, Steven Seagal could make it any era of film.
I agree. Cookies and buffets are in every era!
Sub earned 💯💪🏾
