In my humble opinion, the Dino is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. It's timeless design still influences the shape of many supercars made today.
Capt Birdie , you took the words right out of my mouth. I used to watch the Persuaders because of this car and my son's name is Dino because of this car.
my humble opinion too! I am 60yo, and had several match box and other brand toy cars of the dino. No matter which angle you look at it, it looks balanced and beautiful. The quintessential sports car.
Remarkable. Wow. We'd never see something like this before RUclips. A complete gut job of a Ferrari...down to the nuts, bolts and washers. Rebuilt everything. These guys must be the Pablo Picasso's of restoration people. Watched the whole thing muted in one sitting.
That's a SWEET car. Such styling in such a small package. These guys must show up at every European car show and take the prize ! So knowledgeable, right down to the last nut and bolt.
The Dino 206/246 never was a Ferrari and restorers rightfully resisted the temptation of putting the Cavalino Rampante or the word Ferrari on this beautiful restoration (it was there before work started). But they did not resisted to put it in the title. Enzo Ferrari did not want any car wearing his name to have an engine with less than 12 cylinders, and the Dino is a V6 developped by Enzo Ferrari's son Dino, dead prematurely, initialy as a formula one 1500cc engine. The same Dino 246 engine also found a home under both Fiat Dino's (coupé and spider, 2 completely different designs: Giugiaro at Bertone for the 1st and Pininfarina for the 2d) and the Lancia Stratos' hood. The Dino 246 GT(S) was also the very first sport car to feature a centraly mounted engine. The Dino 308 GT4 (a V8) eventually became the only Dino to officialy wear Ferrari's name. The Dino 246 GT(S) is to me, and by far, the best looking sport car ever produced, with a slight preference for the GT.
Dinos, being named after Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari's late son, Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, credited with designing the first V6 engine that powered the new smaller race cars he convinced his father to build. They have ALWAYS been "classed" as Ferraris and the Dino marque was to honor his memory, and were serious race cars. In fact, all early Dino sports cars actually had Ferrari badging, and the Ferrari Dinos used the same naming convention as the rest of the Ferraris. 1965 was the first year that the Dino only badge appeared on the prototype Dino 166P and from there, the marque was differentiated to simply Dino for, the now famous, six cylinder mass production cars from 1967 to 1974 the Dino 206 GT and the 246 GT and GTS, the replacement for them in 1975 being the 8 cylinder Ferrari 308 GTB and GTS. The Dino 208 GT4 and 308 GT4 were both reverted to the Ferrari marque in May 1976. It is only in the minds of simpletons, and those operating on snobbery above their pocket book, that Dinos were considered "not real" or "junior" Ferraris.
I was interested in this too and I found no less than SEVEN shades of blue the factory offered the Dino in. Since the paint is metallic though that narrows it down some. Probably it's painted in a shade Ferrari called "Bleu Sera Metallizzato Dark Blue Metallic".
Juste la carrosserie une oeuvre d'art contemporain. . . . Mais que fait Ferrari des presses à emboutir quand un modèle n'est plus vendu ? Un petit malin aurait dû les récupérer plutôt que les détruites. . . .
Yes the Dino was a great model eh...they used to say you could take them round bends at damn near any speed you wanted...so unlike those E-Type Jaguars around that same time eh?
Dino supervised the development of the V6 for both Ferrari - racing duties- and Fiat witch used it -de-tuned, different heads. - on it’s own sports cars. Thus lowering the enginering/building costs. Designed by the Pininfarina house, it was actually built by Fiat. The whole idea was to offer a volume produced entry level, lower cost Ferrari. Enzo hated the idea but had no choice, being ion verge to banckruptie. The snobby Ferraristies refused to recognized it as a « proper » Ferrari. Times have changed now, and Dinos are well received in clubs. Thus the prices for a clean exemple are skyrockting. Some 10 years ago, you could buy decent exemples for not much...

I really wish these restorations would customize a little bit more. Collectors are the only ones who like the terrible bumpers of the '60s and '70s. Nobody else wants that crap. Machine guns would have been better than those crummy bumpers.

The sheer beauty of this car and the incredible work they all did, took my breath away. I'd be afraid to even drive it
If there's a prettier car than the 246 Dino or the Lamborghini Miura I have yet to set it.
In my humble opinion, the Dino is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. It's timeless design still influences the shape of many supercars made today.
Yes. To me, it stands right besides the Javguar E type. Both were love at first sight and still are 50 years later. Each detail is Art.
Marc René Yvon I was thinking same.
If only that were true. But the dino is beautiful!

The quintessential sports car.
This rebuild shows just how rust prone they are. A lot of very skilled metal work needed.
I can't find one single line in this car's design that I don't like. Even the emblem is one of the coolest ever. A true masterpiece.
non ci sono parole. Che spettacolo

muted, but you didn't get to enjoy that fabulous score tho
Fantastic job, for better than when it originally came out of the factory!
Impressive job! It can't be any better than what you guys did.
LOVE these!
ΤΗΙS CAR AND THE RESTORATION PROGECT -- BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYΕS !!!!
Splendido restauro di un capolavoro assoluto!
Nothing like painting under a full moon!
The vehicle did not look that good when it left the factory in 1974 - amazing craftsmanship!
Times of beautiful cars are gone.... thx for people who keep that cars alive...

Turn the sound off dude, I did or I wouldn't have been able to finish it.
turn off your sound moron
M. U. T. E. 😁
Lovely soundtrack, i felt the addition of the "BoingGGG" at 3:30 was a nice touch
Great job , completely inappropriate soundtrack .

Masterpiece
What color blue is that? I love it!
I was interested in this too and I found no less than SEVEN shades of blue the factory offered the Dino in. Since the paint is metallic though that narrows it down some. Probably it's painted in a shade Ferrari called "Bleu Sera Metallizzato Dark Blue Metallic".
@@robertmaybeth3434 Much thanks.
I really like the style and curves. I love the colour. The back of car looks similar to 70's Firebird. Jay Leno may be calling.
World class car here this will be hard to beat at a Concord show
Another great video!! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻🤘🏻😍
excelente video grandiosa remodelaciòn Felicidades !!!
Very satisfying to watch
Just fantastic thanks
Uma obra de arte restaurada 🤗😍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Incredible restoration and work.
Though I did pee myself laughing when I saw the Dino on stacked cinder blocks RIGHT next to a Miura. Lol
Why not put an reinforced structure when the floor is removed
@barry rudge a temporally and removal structure to prevent body deformations is the correct way I tought
@barry rudge Maybe you're right. It's a method I ever use in all my restauration works but I nevever work in a car with a multitubular frame like this.
Go to 21:31🤗😁😂😂
Wow, hard work!!!
21:32. Really?
I was so into the car I didn't notice! Ha!
Ass wipe! 😂😂😂
looked perfect from the outside then the removed the body panels...
Beautiful rebuild. What does a job like that cost?
Great Work Guys Thanks👍👍👍
everything normal until 21:32 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nasty crack in the glass of the booth door @21:30
perfect car to drive home after a long night @ the local bar 😏
that's a lot of work for someone to drive it once a year but it looks good.
Вот это рестоврация.
1) Разобрали.

4:00 omg beautifull
everything normal until 21:32

Is the color Blu Dino Metallizato? What shock absorbers are you using? They aren't the Konis.
Yes the Dino was a great model eh...they used to say you could take them round bends at damn near any speed you wanted...so unlike those E-Type Jaguars around that same time eh?
The dino is my favorite Ferrari ever. Anyone know where to get a replica body/ chassis?
There is someone making replicas with an upgraded Ferrari engine.
I know who has a warehouse full of old Ferrari parts and does not know who to sell them to
It looks like a Corvette made a baby with a Porsche lol
37:10 the big carsss 😂
It's a money black hole.
Why the color change?
.... much better in blue?
@@manfredschmalbach9023 If it was mine It would have gotten whatever color it left Italy in.
Fair enough.
I still like the blue, while the glaring yellow many had would be my first choice.
They seem to indicate at 1:00-1:22 the original color was blue.
Does anyone know where this work was done?
Jamie Mills Thank you- I didn’t see that
It's clearly in the states
Lee roy any idea where it may be?
This model never have the Ferrari badge
@barry rudge in Dino's memory. He only designs the small block V6 for race cars in Ferrari.
Excuse me if I can't explain better in english

@@marcryvon - Race Dinos wore full Ferrari badging from 1956 until 1965.
Great build but way to many commercials
Second?
You will not find the word Ferrari anywhere on a Dino. It was never classed as a Ferrari.

gets you questioning why my 74 Honda civic dohc is still showing any sign of rust. 1400$
love the design, but car is a mess.
Should this be called a "310%" restoration? Because that is what I imagine it is.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH! MY EARS!!!!!!!!
Yea. Another video where we don't get to hear it run or watch it drive.
文句の言いようがないぐらい美しい…あと死ぬほどお金かかってそう(^^;)
nice rebuild to bad the accompanying soundtrack sucks ass !

Glad to see deleted American indicators.
Didn't hit play to watch a slideshow.
Kind of looks cheaply built right from the factory. Kit car like.
Silver yeh but Subaru blue I bet the old man would choke on his canoli
That's Azzurro Hyperion Met. It's an original Dino factory color from that year.
