Post Run Stretch for Marathon Training

  • If you're marathon training your body will be taking a beating, so lets try to balance that intensity out with a nice post run stretch. Great if you have just finished your marathon or if you are right in the middle of the marathon training block. Spend a little longer stretching.

    Well, I’m certainly nowhere near even running a half marathon but I love the deep stretch sessions you share with us. I feel a lot more in tune with my body, I’ve learnt how to breathe through my nose when running even when running up steep hills. So thankyou again Ash. Slowly working my way through all of your videos

    Oh buddy, thank you! Just did a hard session long run. It was 16km Easy, followed by a 13km MP and a 3km cooldown (total 32km). I felt so stiff, sore and finished, this really helped! Thank you so much!

    I completed my maraton yesterday. It was failure. Waste 30 minutes because of the muscle spasms. Definitely need more stretching. So just start preparation for the next one :) First session completed. See you soon!

      Fantastic mental attitude to get back on the training for your next one. It is a massive effort for the body. I have had clients that have experienced spasms from lack of hydration and salts too so maybe something in that. Thanks for commenting 😊

      Amazing, thanks Ron! That’s interesting. Maybe if that is happening whilst stretching you may be overtraining and not getting enough rest. Maybe look into that 😊
