  • In this completely free DIY video, we show you how to remove and replace your Harley-Davidson cable clutch hand lever. This will be the same procedure for almost any year and model of Harley-Davidson motorcycle, as nothing has really changed over the years. In this video, we used a 2001 Harley-Davidson Road King. I have a new 2020 Softail slim that I am trying to upgrade the levers on. The clutch cable on the 20 looks completely different then any clutch cable I’ve seen. There is a yellow plastic piece with a red button. Do you think you could do a video on the new cable design or direct me to a resource that would tell me how to get that off. Thanks for any help and guidance.

That was indeed a very good video. Not only the instructions and procedure are correct; but the whole production (shots, audio, lightling...) is very nice and right to the point.
    Keep the good job guys!

I changed the Levers on my 18 XL1200C. Its definitely Not a metric bike. Loosen the Cable Adjuster. Saw that Eyelet on the pin. Used to seeing the barrel piece. Like on the throttle cables of the older cars. Had the dealer perform the 5k Adjustments.

My wife’s just got a new bike. Hers has the “chrome” style clutch cable. Hers doesn’t have a boot that can be slid off. There are a couple notches I see on both sides of it for a wrench. However I don’t see and type of retaining nut to loosen and if I put a wrench on both sides I can’t get it to turn either way. Is there something I’m missing here? 😂
