OMG the reason why I never understood how to paint in photoshop was because of TWO BRUSH SETTINGS (transfer and flow) like holy cow you've opened my third eye you fantastic being of golden sunshine!!!!!
New subscriber! Thankyou so much for this. Glad i finally found a channel that go through the process from sketch, i appreciate details so much its very beginner friendly. ❤️❤️❤️
Oh geeze, I've been struggling with color for YEARS, and yours is the first video I've seen to ever actually explain blending. This is amazing! Thank you so much, this is so helpful!
Words can not describe how thankful I am. It's 5 am and I just finished drawing with you and for the first time It came out fine. Thank you so much for making this you are awesome.
I just want to let you know that I've seen a lot of tutorial videos. But yours! This one! It has changed the game for me! Thank you so much for making this and sharing it. Honestly I learned two very big helpful tips from watching this video and it's changed the way I paint in Photoshop 😁💜 Thank you!!
I love your style. I would probably do the detailing on another layer but if you are very comfortable with painting over your merged base color scheme that's not a big issue. I just like to take advantage of the digital environment to allow me to make more loose traces and not be afraid of making mistakes that I wouldn't be able to undo. Awesome work! For those of you getting into drawing, make sure to practice your sketching and basic drawing skills first. Knowing how to paint won't make a bad drawing good.
Very very helpful!!! I've taken years of art classes especially in photoshop and have never found a solid way to understand digital painting but this really really helped!!
This video has really boosted my confidence. I'm a new digital artist and this video showed me that it isn't as hard as I thought it was to paint. Sure it will be hard since I haven't done it, but not as bad as I thought it was. You really showed me that I can have fun and make mistakes. You reminded me of this "rule of art", so to speak, that is true for all art, not just digital. I have been trying to find a video since I started digital that would help me, and I am so glad I came across yours! :)
When you added the highlights to the hair, it pulled it all together, making it look more symmetrical and 3D. Personally, I wish I could pull stuff like that off!
Thank you for this video! I'm pretty sure this was my first digital art tutorial and while I didn't understand half of what was happening at the time it inspired me to improve my digital painting skills :)
This is a really wonderful and helpful tutorial, but I was nearly screaming when you were doing the detail on the hair and overlapped your really intricate shading with the dark blue!
You talked about your art is always evolving, and you experiment different things with all the time and maybe could helps somebody with this... well.. it helped me! Thank you! :3
Thanks for the tutorial and a nice pic. I haven't tried painting cause I was scared and overthinking on it, but you clearly showed how easy it is and that helped greatly. thank you for it
THIS WAS SOO HELPFUL I’ve been doing just line art then color then shading and have wanted to learn how to paint and couldn’t figure it out then I found this video and it helped so much!! Thank you!!!
Absolutely wonderful!! This tutorial helped so much!!! I'm working on a piece right now and it's the best one I've ever made and it's all thanks to your style!!
This drawing kinda reminds me of Chloe from Life is Strange. In the last 30 minutes I've been inspired to learn how to create digital art/painting! Thank you giving me idea of what to do/expect
This helped a lot! I'm kind of a beginner with this, although I took a class in Computer graphics so I have got some good practice in. On my solo projects though I've been really struggling with the dynamics of quality painting, so hopefully this will get me over that "slump". Thanks!
Fantastic, thank you very much! I have been using Lightroom and Photoshop for years for photo editing and post processing, but I just recently bought a pen tablet to use with them. I immediately got interested in learning what else I can do with the tablet and have been watching digital art video and learning a lot. This was a great lesson. Your understanding and application of light and shadow was very instructive. Looking forward to exploring your other videos. I'm not sure I fully understand your process for blending. I'm watching on my laptop -- I think if I watch again on my 27" monitor I'll be able to follow along with those steps a bit better and see what you are doing with your brush and color settings.
the pink-blue fight was my favourite part of the film!! :) also, thanks for this video! I've been watching tutorials for a while to get started on digital painting, but this is the first one that didn't discourage me. It's amazing how you make it look doable with easy steps, when usually I'm demotivated by how complicated the process looks. I'm excited to try now! Thanks! :D
This is the best tutorial ever! Doubted myself because it was intimidating at first however seeing each step and progression you do makes it possible! Love to see more tutorials :)
Yes this was very helpful! I've been wanting to try digital painting but I didn't know how to go about doing it 😄 thank you for this video it is great. I love the art work btw the blue hair is super cool!
this looks so much fun to do! I can't wait to do it my brother is in college right now but when he comes home he is gonna teach me how to do this with this same here digital program!
Thank you so much for making this! I've always loved the look of painterly digital art styles, but I didn't think it was possible for me to do it since I just couldn't seem to pick proper "in between" colors when blending shades together. Definitely going to try out your method today.
Instead of merge visible (22:23) you can press ctrl+a to select all, and then press ctrl+shift+c (copy everything which is visible) and ctrl+v for paste. About tutorial... great job!!!!
Hi! Lovely work and I love the way you teach because it's so clear but it would be awesome too if you also explained and talked more about what you were doing with the brushes and blending and whatnot since this is a tutorial people like me who are still learning would really benefit more. This video has really boosted my confidence. I'm a new digital artist and this video showed me that it isn't as hard as I thought it was to paint. AWESOMENESS!!! Your style is so pretty and your voice so calming. beautiful and soothing... Much success and blessings!
How are you smoothing and blending? Are you on a special brush with less harshness? Thanks!
Jess Fae Usually an airbrush with low opacity is the best for soft blending.
She was pressing alt to pick up the colors that she layered over each other that made it lighter and she kept doing that
you're such a sweetheart!! your voice and your style are both so beautiful. i only just started messing with photoshop recently and this helped so much! i got to learn so much from this 💕
