  • In this tutorial I show you how to paint skin digitally and I also give some tips on using color and basic anatomy. Painting skin is something we all had difficulties with at one point but with the right technique it doesn't have to be. By knowing some basic color theory you can easily paint good looking skin that pops and looks believable.
    I hope you'll find this tutorial helpful! :)

      Have a tip for you: duplicate the layer, and erase the part you want on one layer, and erase the other part on the other layer. You will have one layer with what you want to warp, and one layer with what you want to keep.

    The biggest problem with skin shading tutorials is that they teach you theory but never practice. No one teaches which brush to use, what's the opacity setting, how to avoid layering shadows with multiple strokes etc. I learned theory so many times i can give a shading lesson, but i still cant do it myself.

    • @KaizenKitty
      @KaizenKitty 3 года назад +23

      to be fair this depends on the medium you're using. depends on the software (what brushes you have, what blending tools you have). as for the multiple strokes thing, one way i avoid this (in Medibang) is to draw with the (watercolor) brush at 100% opacity, and then to reduce the layer opacity until it 'looks good'.

    This was like the best and most helpful art tutorial I've ever seen, it's these sort of basics that artists don't really know how to explain, but you did it phenomenally! Thank you and your art style is so pretty!!!!
