I'm 58 and started gaming on a Commodore 64 back in 1983, I have seen my fair shar of games. RDR2 simply blows me away. Anyway, I love my brand new Turkoman, although it was tough taking my Panther saddle off ol' Blacky, my black Arabian. Cheers!

Another old school gamer... hell I remember going to Arcades or Godfather's Pizza to play games because there was no such thing as home computers or consoles. My parents didn't approve of video gaming at home, so got to play Pong on my friend's Atari... but I did have a PS 1 and the OG Xbox when they first came out and have been gaming ever since. Like you both, I am absolutely blown away by the immersion and attention to every detail in this game. I never could have imagined a game like this 40+ years ago when I started gaming. *VERY* few games even come close, RDR2 is tied for 1st place in my list with the new Spider-Man games and Mass Effect Legendary Edition. I haven't played Balder's gate yet though and I am still working on Elden Ring. My _only_ complaint, aside from some unnecessarily spooky-icky missions with the hill-billy incest clan in Roanoake - I wish we could have been able to pick the "skin" of our horse instead of only being able to customize the mane and tail.

This is my 3rd playthrough and I got this horse for Arthur like this. I stumbled on a video this playthrough that showed this exact trick and I thought I'd use it because everyone in the comments was saying that these horses were brave. I've always had cowardly horses and it actually makes me angry while playing when they buck me and leave me for the (literal) wolves lol. So I figured why not. I didn't have anything to lose. This was the *BEST* decision I've ever made in this game as I finally got around to doing Algernon's quests as Arthur instead of John. This horse hardly ever spooked and made the journey getting the flowers in the gator-infested swamps so much easier! I got so incredibly attached to him for his beauty and bravery. I got so attached to him that I had to buy another horse to use in the final mission. I had my Turkoman, whom I named Achilles, during the whole playthrough until the mission "My Last Son." After that mission I went to the stable and sat outside with him and fed him all of the sugar cubes and peppermints I had on me. I brushed him, patted him, and fed him on repeat for around 10-15 min knowing that I was going to sell him at the stable; I just couldn't see such a magnificent horse, that *NEVER* let me down, die in the last mission. So I said my goodbyes and got my Thoroughbred. Sorry for the long post, this game really gets to me lol. But everyone needs to get this horse!!! He's the very best of them all!!!
@@Zennique Very true. But to be honest, I really only ever use one horse. I've had a bunch of horses, but only because so many of them would buck me to the point that I'd get pissed off and sell them lol. But I never really have the need to have several horses at once!
@@Zennique Same here! On my last playthrough I got both the Perlino Andalusian and the White Arabian as John. I only used the Perlino for a short time but she seemed like a great horse from all the situations we encountered. But the White Arabian, which most commenters regard as being very afraid of everything, was a better horse. I did Algernon's quests with her and she was pretty good in contrast to the other horses I had tried to do the quest with. Then on this playthrough I thought I'd get the Perlino for Arthur as I wanted a good, brave horse for him that wasn't small like the Arabians, but she really let me down. On full bonding she bucked me constantly and it got on my nerves so I sold her. I truly think it's a random thing with each playthrough.
@@AllisonChains64 Totaly random. The basic stats are always the same but the behaviour you can not be certain of. Had a Fox Trotter from the lady near Moonstone pond once and a total scardy cat. Sold it level 2. Went back to get another one et voila, got a Fox Trotter they would like to have at a riot controll squad.
@@bharatjeevan Yeah didn't find him in chapter 2 in my current replay but i know 2 occasions where you can get him in chapter 3. And you can forse spawn him in every chapter if you get a high enough bounty in Annesburg. Bountyhunters there often ride them.
In the mission where Arthur returns the love letter to Beau Gray, you can use this same technic to get his Paint horse. When you get to the stable he'[s petting one of two, once he gets on the saddled paint you can hope the fence and bond with the other paint. Then after the mission ends the horse is your.
You can get a lot of free horses in this game if you want. In the first Beau Gray mission, you can get Penelope's Belgian horse. Just brush, pet and feed it before you give her the letter and gift.
Cerberus the best horse in the game,have him 200 hours now and cant change another horse such a strong and elegant horse,and bullets dont ever faze him..Sometimes when bounty hunters are approaching he even makes sounds to warn me... Worst thing that R* did though was to remove the mark from its hip on save load,its what makes this horse truly unique

I did this just a couple days ago. Except I purposefully shot a horse as we were leaving then restarted at the check point. And the dark bay was there along with my other horse and I jumped on the dark bay and rode him out as my other horse with my saddle followed. When the cut scene was over he was there waiting for me.
You can make things a bit easier. When You're at the stable and got the horse icon, just fail the mission and reload the from the control point. New hoare will appear, there will be two in the box. Just take the other one and You are good to go to continue the mission.
Every human on this earth has similar clothing. In fact, clothing itself is by nature similar to all other clothing due to the fact that it serves an identical purpose for most people. Clothing philosophy is fun!
Still works nov 2023. At this point it wont be patched! Go get yourself the best horse im the game (subjectively) thanks for the video! Ps. Make sure you have plenty of horse food. I ran out the first time I tried this
Still working 29/06/2023. Make sure you have enough consumables for the horse and make sure once its bonded to level 1, you pet it. That's how it'll show as a horse symbol on the map.
I just tried it and all it would let me feed it was plants like ginseg all the horse food like carrots sugar cubes and pepermints didnt show up and when i go to buy peppermints and sugar cubes i can only have 3 of each but they still dont show up when i go to feed cerburus
Still works. Thanks. I only had to give 5 sugar cubes and 2 peppermint and I brushed between each feeding. I only have the provisions satchel so I cant carry more than 5 of each. I have the talisman or whatever for increased horse appproval. 👍

Затем снова начал квест и приручил белого араба. После квест закончил и две лошадки остались.
Is the horse there without doing the Mission. I literally just started all over this year I'm Taking it Slow focusing on more hunting fishing and just exploring I went ahead and got that 1 horse I think it's the white Arabian But that horse in your video is f****** beautiful

Cerberus looks good and is strong and fast. But he dumps me whenever wolves are around. Not nearly as brave as my Hungarian who looks at wolves as a minor annoyance.
Works on all 3 horses but you can get the white and black one as early as chapter 2 so therefor is this video about the Turkoman. The Turkoman isn't normaly available for Arthur.
@@esonchen2446 The method works but you can't keep anything while replaying missions. Replaying missions is good for doing challenges or upgrading medals. Weapons, money, items, horses, all will be gone after the replay.
There is nothing special about this horse. So it will go to level 4 bonding. But it is an top tier horse so it requires more time to do so. If you go to the menu and then to player and click on the horse you can see your progress.
@Kenny Allen We are both right, from some point in chapter 3 and onwards Sadie rides a golden dapple Turkoman named "Bob". But in the Epilogue mission "American Venom" she rides a nameless dark bay Turkoman.
@Kenny Allen she used dark bay on american venom which surprised me since I used the stolen one, Cerberus, for Arthur. It felt cool. I was using the silver one for John at the time which made it even better.
I keep seeing tricks to get various horses, but I have yet to get one to work. I've tried a number of times and a number of ways. I'm thinking this must be an online only thing. I don't play online. I just have to wait and get them the old fashioned way I suppose.
It's a Piebald Tobiano Hungarian Halfbred. You can find it a random NPC camps or armed guards, or bounty Hunter and lawmen ride them in missions or side quests. Got a video on how to get it on a specific side quest. ruclips.net/video/DbWyxa58os8/видео.html

@@Zennique no 🤣. I finished the mission, then I saw the video. I came back to the stable but they only had Morgans or the Tennessee Walker. I remember when I did the mission I tried riding it but it didn’t work. I didn’t try feeding it at all and I’m not about to lose my progress just for this horse. In any case I still have 2 great horses, I have the American standardbred from a random stranger getting killed by it. I also have the thoroughbred from that lady who wants to race you, I didn’t 😈. From experience you can just get decent horses randomly, even bounty hunters have good horses to take from.
@@jerryragan You get it from Peirce but you will need to do a ton of perfect hunting. It is fun to do though and totally worth it to have so much bag space.
You're right about the money but the horse isn't available for Arthur otherwise. The dark bay Turkoman is only available in Blackwater after chapter 6.
@@Zennique Yes I realised that later and the point of all this, sorry 🫣 I didn't even know for this coat before, so I bought the gold Turkoman as Arthur and then this dark bay as John. Great horses! All the best!🤠
@@Zennique so ahhahaha, for some strange reason I feed the horse and the black notification appears, that says the friendship level 1, but the temporary horse icon not, I replayed just now and after the notification I keep feeding the horse until the icon that’s the problem hahah

You can fail the mission after you bonded with it and restart from checkpoint the game will spawn another bonded level horse
So failing has the same outcome.

If you don't have enough treats, brushing will work also but takes a lot of time.

Could you also bond with the other horses and give them to the buyers, then after the mission, whistle, and they would all come running?
You can bond to 1 extra horse only.
So you primary horse and a temporary.

No, doesn't matter.
As long as the horse is visable on tge minimap.
So bonding level 1 + 1 brush, feed or pat.

You can't keep anything while replaying missions.
Replaying is only good for upgrading medals and do challenges.

As long as the horse is on your minimap after bonding it doesn't matter.

If you already done the mission and replaying it, it will not work.

It's chapter 3, so you had plenty of time to get an upgraded satchel made by Pearson to carry more stuff .

@@Zennique no 🤣. I finished the mission, then I saw the video. I came back to the stable but they only had Morgans or the Tennessee Walker. I remember when I did the mission I tried riding it but it didn’t work. I didn’t try feeding it at all and I’m not about to lose my progress just for this horse. In any case I still have 2 great horses, I have the American standardbred from a random stranger getting killed by it. I also have the thoroughbred from that lady who wants to race you, I didn’t 😈. From experience you can just get decent horses randomly, even bounty hunters have good horses to take from.

That has been patched more then 4 years ago.

Sadly you can’t saddle the horses
You can, take them to the stables and stable them or make a save after completing the mission and reload.
Cant saddle it up
Sad thing is they do not tell you they are using mods. The amount of treats gives it away.
With the Legend of the East satchel you can carrie 99 of each treat.
If it's a reply you can only carrie 3.

@@jerryragan You get it from Peirce but you will need to do a ton of perfect hunting. It is fun to do though and totally worth it to have so much bag space.

You're right about the money but the horse isn't available for Arthur otherwise.
The dark bay Turkoman is only available in Blackwater after chapter 6.
@@Zennique Yes I realised that later and the point of all this, sorry 🫣 I didn't even know for this coat before, so I bought the gold Turkoman as Arthur and then this dark bay as John. Great horses! All the best!🤠

@@Zennique so ahhahaha, for some strange reason I feed the horse and the black notification appears, that says the friendship level 1, but the temporary horse icon not, I replayed just now and after the notification I keep feeding the horse until the icon that’s the problem hahah

No, but you have to feed the horse from your inventory wheel.

@@johannpottas4415 Stand next to the horse and open your weapon wheel, go to the horse section and feed.

Just did this yesterday and it works. Yes the trick is to bring up the wheel, not the menu to choose a food. (from a PC that means hit TAB)
