Hardcore mechanics around here. Screwdriver up the nose and not one comment. Everywhere I have worked there is always that one guy that gets hurt in weird ways way too often. Thanks for the videos man..

I recently purchased a 18 f250 with 232k all highway. Caterpillar dealer owned as their parts truck. It runs great! I just did the tranny service to it, first time it’s ever been done. It had hardly any metal flakes on the magnets.

Nice job. The camera is great. You could see the cross hatch marks on the cylinder walls.

An old mechanic once showed me how to find the source of mechanical noise by using a shortened wooden broomstick placed on your ear and then various parts of an engine or gear box.
Of course, you can buy a $150 stethoscope from SnapOn...but the broom stick works well.

That 6.2 gas must be a pretty strong motor. At 215000 miles you could still see the cross hatch on the bore. Good video

My 5.4 3v was putting out cyl p0300 p0305 p0306 shaking like crazy . Also lean codes on bank one +flashing check engine light . Dealer wanted to put new motor in it. 2 local mechanics wanted to do phasers and intake and plugs.
After taking it apart and inspecting it turned out to be cylinder #6 exhaust valve spring broke. $3.00 part. About 2 hrs work and it runs great now.

You skipped the valve cover removal and the spring reasonably. When making a mechanical video don’t skip any steps no matter how small. You can fast forward through routine parts like bolt removal but don’t skip parts.

Relative compression test WITHOUT an amp probe:
Scope the VOLTAGE drop on the battery cable, "+" at the battery, (-) at the started end. Clear flood and crank...
A voltage drop test can be performed ANYWHERE that current is present.

What did you torque the rocker bolts to? My cam slid forward about a 16th of an inch and it has a loud clap just like the truck in video. Compression is good, spark is good, multiple misfire, and sounds like a diesel. What are the cam and rocker torque specs? Its been a month and ford wont get back to me and can only find head bolt torque specs online.

So did the valve contact the cylinder on that edge ? Or is that just the design of the cylinder? I would think it didn't or the valve would be damaged. What are your thoughts? This happened to my 2015 with the 6.2 but I wasn't this lucky and the valve dropped far enough in and contacted cylinder #7 piston. Had to get a remand engine put in
