Howdy folks! Today is my last day managing this VOD Channel, as I will now be dedicating my time to my own ventures. I'm proud I had the opportunity to be with this channel at its very beginning, but I'm certain whoever takes over next will take good care of you all. I have trouble functioning in this game on the easiest dificulty levels. This game is one of the most punishing survival games I've ever played. If you make one mistake, it can set off a slow death spiral that you don't notice for an hour. And then, by the time you DO notice it, it's already too late. Heck. There will be times where I'll just end up wandering aimlessly, having no clue where the hell I am, and finding NOTHING that I need to survive. And that's MOST games I play of this game. I'm good at survival games. But this is ONE game that I've never come close to mastering. I seriously don't understand how people manage to survive at all and find what they need to survive in this game. For me, it seems like survival is just based on luck, and what you find. I NEVER EVER find what I need. This game is hard and I've never figured out the strategy for it.
That's the nature of the game, most of the time you will simply die a slow and painful death. It's a lot like Zomboid in that way, it's less about how you survive and more about how you ultimately go out with a whimper. Wintermute, as terrible and unfinished as it is, does a decent job at being a "tutorial" of sorts and will make you use most key tools, visit most locations of the game and give you an idea of the layout of the land. I heavily recommend beating at least chapter 1 and 2 and then trying survival mode again. Also I recommend Mountain Town as your starting point as a new player. It's full enough of goodies to last you at least a week and a set of clothes, backpack full of canned food and other items will make travelling more forgiving. Good luck!

The most outrageous thing is the character from the long dark only being able to carry 30 pounds of items then I can carry far more then that in real life. 😅

Tomato was off by literally a pixel on that first shot and I think that's some insane punishment for that.

Bunker locations are randomized every playthroygh btw. They have set locations they can spawn but wont always spawn there.
yeah the DLC area is DECEPTIVELY hard. its got an incredibly low ambient temperature and windchill, not to mention the F O G
