£33 for a character upgrade pack is freaking nuts. I'm playing Palworld while watching the video - a really fun game that gives someone that enjoys survival games a few dozen hours of gameplay every few months (at least). On sale from steam it costs about £16.50 - literally half the price... OF A CHARACTER UPGRADE PACK. Mobile freemium games are freaking nuts. Even for people that can comfortably afford to drop that much money frequently, I'm still surprised - I know I wouldn't do it just on principle.
I gave up on mobile gaming years and years ago. I could play something amazing like Elden Ring, or a piece of garbage slot machine "game" and possible spend more for way, way, way less "game" on the mobile slot machine. There might have been something worthwhile to mobile gaming at the very start, but it's all mostly total garbage skinner boxes now.
I'm someone who used to play Cookie Run kingdom daily but sadly this game gave me a really bad gacha addiction to the point I had to quit for my own health. In total on my time playing I ended up spending around 1800USD thanks to the game constant promotion of "cheap" packages and the stupid difficulty spikes at the later half of the game. While the game, story and characters were fun the gacha was what ruined it for me to the point I had to genuinely step back and completely distance myself from it because it was harmful for me
thankfully cookie run doesnt actually ever take characters out of the rolls at least the odds just change, honestly not bad but yeah everything is suuuper overpriced
Coin Master just ran A LOT of TV ads with trash TV stars and influencers (at least in Germany). It stopped with new regulations about gambling. So I guess the numbers come from aggressive advertisment in other contries where the rules aren't as strict.

I don't know man I just played it for 2 days and I already pulled most of them. They give you plenty of gems outside from the transactions. But I do notice that the gameplay gets tedious and more grindy as you reach further progress which I didn't like and will probably stop playing after a while but the game was pretty fun.
I know people say Gacha games are a shameless cash grab and it may or may not be true for many gacha games but the real cash grab are all these merge games no matter if its farm heros, gardens scapes, etc... they dont even try to hide it and they send you more stuff the more you buy. My mom was around level 3000 in garden scapes and couldnt beat it for days and failed the level again and bought for the very first time when the game offered a 1,99€ bundle with infinite lives for 1 hour and the two extra turns she needed to beat it. after that the game keep showing more and more bundles and boosters mind you she rarely got offers after level 300 most of them only being event stuff but after that first purchase it just sends them after every 3 or 4 levels Edit: Also the idea for coin master is that you connect to facebook and destroy your friends village that they then have to repair with coins meaning you steal coins from them and then they have to use even more coins to repair and then even more to upgrade mean a lot of spins will be used later on meaning if you really want to progress you have to be lucky that you dont get attacked/have good spins so you can upgrade and get rid of your coins before the next attack on your base. I played it with friends for about a month and lived on the high of getting high spins with a mechanic that comes later that lets you spin a x50 or even x100 based on the number of spins you can make and that was the most fun i had laughing at my friends as i spin a x100 perfect steal on their base stealing all theyr coins and getting it multiplied by 100 as he threw his phone against the wall. "Best" thing is the game send him a bundle with a 24 hour shield and 200 mil coins(basically nothing at the point we where at) so he quit and shorty after we quit one by one as its not fun without friends to piss off Also i dont know if it still sends adds but girls x battle 2 was my first gacha and its very *coughs* "interesting* with the character desings as all of them are female and yes i played it for 2 years am between account level 230~250 and my story mode is nightmare (i think) and only stopped because of work stress. I was glad to see coin master on here today, thanks for the fun times! Also if you're interested in how shady that game is, Jarvis Johnson made a pretty good video about it (writing this before the end btw) EDIT: One of the reasons it's so lucrative is that it has a bazillion ads with well known celebrities, falsely advertising the gameplay
"Poludnitsa" (also "Południca/Poludnica" and various other spellings) isn't a weird name, it's a slavic demon 😭 most gamers likely encountered it too: if you've ever played the witcher, it's the original name for a noonwraith. Multiple characters have slavic language based or inspired names, like Krolik (Rabbit), Groza (depending on specific language: terror, dread or storm), and Mechty (dream) and probably more that i can't find from a quick look through the characters. (I also don't speak russian, which seems to be the primary language they're using) What i DO find weird is that one of the characters is basically named "finland" in finnish (Suomi)
Groza and Suomi are reappearing characters from Girls Frontline (the first one), where the girls are basically named after the firearm they use (basically raifu collector), so Suomi is named after the Suomi KP-31, which is her smg, while Groza is named after her rifle the OTs-14 "Groza" (which afaik is supposed to be "storm" in Russian). If you have a look at other characters from that game, you'll see a lot kept their original rifle designation, while others either changed their name or are new characters with proper given names
If anyones wondering the first game had some slavic words in it hence the confusion, for an example Królik is Just Bunny, Groza means terror, Południca means noonwraith which is a slavic demon/ghost hunting in the fields at noon it was depicted pretty nicely in the Witcher
24:26 The higher bet is actually the best mechanic in coin master! At higher villages you get like x100 all the way up to bets of x10,000, and you get crazy amounts and more luck leads to more spins for more coins for more upgrades in a cycle! I ended up with over a trillion coins a couple times and almost broke the bar at the top😂
GFL and GFL2 are actually really fun once you get past all the gooner bait and usual mobile game bs (which even then its not as bad as other mobile games)
@SpecsWitched the first one is not perfect (far from it, in fact), but it's has a pretty good premise. I like the gameplay it's kind of turned based on what i remember, not nearly as good as the XCOM style but not terrible. Now, compared to the second game, it definitely doesn't hold up
coin master is probably very populair for the boomers. since its facebook intergrated. so its a lot of old people that wouldnt want to get into more complicated gameplay. there is also a card collection part you get to later that has entire facebook groups for trading and selling. the rabbithole goes deep on this one.
I play Cookie Run Kingdom for 4 years now and only spend money on the season pass. You don't need to spend any money if you just play for an hour per day. I don't even know where to spend all my diamonds on (currently sitting on 1.5 million).
Hey, if you do more of these you should also add a timer letting us know what time you have left on a game so we can feel the stress and frustration with you haha
You should give us a Timer somewhere, under cam perhaps so we could see how long till the end of the game or when you add some minutes! Great video, I really enjoy the series, it's funny to see how much money the milk from us so we can have fun with the game
I want him to play Monopoly GO next if he hasn't already. He'll never get out of it... I mean it, as far as I could observe from a friend playing it, the game's asking if you wanna pay for more turns every goddamn time you run out. And you run out FAST.
cookie run kingdom is pretty good tho unless ur like pathetic and have no patience then just dont play it but its pretty easy to play it without spending money at all the drop rates for cookies are pretty high and its really easy to get gems without spending money at all and they do allot of free gifts
The amount of Polish words as names in first games is making me laugh (Krolik/Królik - Bunny, Groza - Fright, Poludnica/Południca - Lady Midday (ghost from folklore)) XDD
ayyyy GFL2! been loving the game so far, and waiting for my fav T-Dolls to make a return. also, the FOMO in the game really isn't all that bad. in the month since the game released, it's been VERY generous with the "premium" currency. at least 250-300 pulls worth of it. i've only gotten the battle pass since i like the company and the other GFL universe games they've made, and even after pulling 3 limited characters (2 Suomi, 1 Makiatto) and losing 1 50/50, i still have 130 pulls left right now
Gfl is actually very big, exilium is pretty, and gameplay is a great improvement over first one. But as gfl 1 has proven dont uderestimate the devs, they have some bangers in terms of story often, it is often depresso espresso to the max. It honestly quite well depicts ptsd, loss of innocence(not in a pervy way), loss of humanity and how dolls deal when they gain emotional depth in general. Esp stories like squad 404, and m4a1 stories.
So the names in the first game are weird. Another one of "mashup the languages to make it sound cooler" From what I've seen: Groza - in Ukrainian/Russian = гроза/гроза -> Thunder or Thunderstorm; Krolik - (depending on how you want to pronounce the "i" it's also the case of-) Ukrainian/Russian = кролик/кролик (yes, those 2 words are pronounced differently) -> Bunny or Rabbit; Poludnitca(?) - purely Ukrainian word ("d" is unnecessary here) = полуниця -> Strawberry; Edit: nope, not strawberry lol, old Russian myth. Papasha - purely Russian word = папаша -> Daddy. (Calling anime girl(?) Daddy lol) So some names are just other languages words with English spelling.
Doesn't Poludnitca represent person who wander around in the noon like (Полуденница), in similarity to Polunochnik(Полуночник) -person who wanders in midnight?
i thought groza and królik were in polish when i saw those names, didn't know they were words in ukrainian/russian too. the meaning for królik is the same but groza in polish means terror instead.
i use to play cookie run back when oven break was the only app and it was more of just an endless runner. they still had gatcha but little pop ups and you could get everything with just playing the game. I would get thousands of gems just playing once a month and they didn't have all this event overload. i love the game but i hate what it's turned in to. i can't even find the endless run mode if it even still exists and that's what i liked most about the game.

Also during Cookie Run Kingdom "A viewer was kind enough to tell me i missed out on Gacha..."
Translation: "I banned a guy for making me lose even more money"
Lmao
Not cod but third person action.
I wasn't expecting a half hour of cookie smash or pass. Haha
I guess it has to be said... _that's how the cookie crumbs._
I will always watch these, if not for your misery in having to deal with this shit, then for your dealing with it as a perfect "mockumentary" on how predatory these kinds of games are and why players/parents of players should be wary of them.
I'm so used to ignoring pop ups that i never noticed just how many and how expensive kingdom's were lmao.
Also a game suggestion if you do another video in this series is AFK Journey, it's a good game, but man does it have a shit ton of pop ups
I got so used to them popping up.That evening Forget that they even exist most of the time
she cookie on my run till kingdom (come)
I mean...
she run on my cookie till I spend money... wait--
she kingdom and till I'm broke and homeless....... uh oh....
side note, as someone who has played CRK as a f2p, this hurts my on a spiritual level to watch, DAMN YOU POWER CREEP!!!
She cookie on my run till I crumb.
playing any gacha game as a f2p can range to mild to serious masochism
@@Void637 its called CBT... and WE LIKE IT
@President-of-Funnywhat’s cbt?
played when the game was released, never spent on the game because i don't wanna spend money on gacha games
Im a f2p in Cookie Run Kingdom since launch. And. Its a grind. But i can just take some days off or months if i dont like the update. But. Yeh. A TON of pay pop ups
i've also been playing since launch and i've never had to grind too much, i'm f2p as well
they're rather generous when it comes to diamonds, but everything else is a bit of a pain to get. time-related stuff is also really annoying, but does that count as grinding?
other than upgrading characters, maybe??!
but yeah CRK is awesome but also super annoying with the pop-ups.
Yes! I have been waiting for this glorious cookie run video xD
(I know there's other games but let's be real, the main spectacle *is* Cookie run lol)
Exactly same

Man and I heard people singing that Marvel game's praises. Not only does it not live up to the hype, but it also doesn't even live up to other scummy mobile games lmao
Kaif I thank you for playing Cookie Run so I could see the game for myself. I started playing it and turns out when you're not under a geas to spend money it's a fairly decent game/idler. Also pretty good stories. Eventually, takes a bit.
I got a Girls Frontline ad on this video 😭😭 also, the names in game are slavic and I love the way you pronounce them
cookie run is one of my favorite franchises, thank you
£33 for a character upgrade pack is freaking nuts.
While the game, story and characters were fun the gacha was what ruined it for me to the point I had to genuinely step back and completely distance myself from it because it was harmful for me
I'm a f2p and I quitted it cuz I got bored
Its so crazy that you chose the MS society. My nother suffers from ms so im very grateful.
Kaif directly went for the feet, respect lol 👍
"Make him poor! Make him really really poor!,
Oh go go, go spend more!"
In the theme of tell me lies
thankfully cookie run doesnt actually ever take characters out of the rolls at least the odds just change, honestly not bad but yeah everything is suuuper overpriced
Yeah most of the bundles are only for like whales not for casual people
"Oh, i can make a custom main menu background?"
*immediately proceeds to set Krolik's feet as a background*
Coin Master just ran A LOT of TV ads with trash TV stars and influencers (at least in Germany). It stopped with new regulations about gambling. So I guess the numbers come from aggressive advertisment in other contries where the rules aren't as strict.
"do you know how cookies are made?"
"Yeah"
top teir commentary sub has been earned
i dont wanna feed your addiction spending money on mobile gam.... who am i kidding, of course i want! keep em coming!
Coin master is forced on most samsung phones when you first get it so that's probs why it's still played
Throughout this video every advertisement I got was all cookie run ones, every single one. Great video btw, I feel bad for the wallet...
It’s so fascinating watching this bc the only gacha games i play are hoyoverse so i guess ive been spoiled by it not actually having popups 😭
yet hoyoverse is the gacha company that gets criticized the most lol its kinda ironic
@@Kekekekennthey have one of the most horrible rates specifically genshin the others are more lenient, they also have more limited banner units which create a sense of heavy fomo and urgency, gacha currency is extremely limited(F2P) and have to be farmed hours just to get a few pulls, so yeah that's where their gacha hate comes from
@@KekekekennBecause hoyo is a greedy company, i have no idea why yall like it
@@Nikola-hz1rc beacuse gameplay is fun and the story is good. games arent only good based on how many free pulls they give out
@@yaboikyohai4323 "others are more lenient" the ones that came after trying to cash-in its popularity yes but any other from before? hell no.
i used to play FATE:GO and GBF and they had pity at 300 (they changed it after genshin came) and even then the character you wanted wasnt always guaranteed. nevermind how stingy they used to be on gacha currency...
as a long time Cookie Run Kingdom fan god this hurt to watch💔💔
do NOT tell this man about the 100$ package for a single copy of moonlight cookie that exists
One entire hour of this?! Awesome!! 🎉
I am playing cookie run kingdom activaly and never spent a cent...
and i can tell you... you buying all those popups... made you pull MORE new cookies...
i barely pull any FULL cookies, only fragments cause I dont spent money...
they cookie games, as fun they might be, are so optemized to get your money, the more you buy, the more they take...
That's why.
I would suggest any new Comers who want to play kingdom do not buy no bundle
I don't know man I just played it for 2 days and I already pulled most of them. They give you plenty of gems outside from the transactions. But I do notice that the gameplay gets tedious and more grindy as you reach further progress which I didn't like and will probably stop playing after a while but the game was pretty fun.
I know people say Gacha games are a shameless cash grab and it may or may not be true for many gacha games but the real cash grab are all these merge games no matter if its farm heros, gardens scapes, etc... they dont even try to hide it and they send you more stuff the more you buy. My mom was around level 3000 in garden scapes and couldnt beat it for days and failed the level again and bought for the very first time when the game offered a 1,99€ bundle with infinite lives for 1 hour and the two extra turns she needed to beat it. after that the game keep showing more and more bundles and boosters mind you she rarely got offers after level 300 most of them only being event stuff but after that first purchase it just sends them after every 3 or 4 levels
Edit: Also the idea for coin master is that you connect to facebook and destroy your friends village that they then have to repair with coins meaning you steal coins from them and then they have to use even more coins to repair and then even more to upgrade mean a lot of spins will be used later on meaning if you really want to progress you have to be lucky that you dont get attacked/have good spins so you can upgrade and get rid of your coins before the next attack on your base. "Best" thing is the game send him a bundle with a 24 hour shield and 200 mil coins(basically nothing at the point we where at) so he quit and shorty after we quit one by one as its not fun without friends to piss off
Also i dont know if it still sends adds but girls x battle 2 was my first gacha and its very *coughs* "interesting* with the character desings as all of them are female and yes i played it for 2 years am between account level 230~250 and my story mode is nightmare (i think) and only stopped because of work stress. (yes i paid money for a few skins and maybe a single wedding ring for my fave character Sapphire whos a fox girl)
yeah, at least most gacha games have mostly a fun gameplay and a shit ton of effort and polish put into it.
@@chargenari Not to mention the storys can range form bad to good with cash grab gachas and good to amazing world building and story telling for the well known gacha games like genshin impact, honkai star rail, Fate/GO with all the heroic spirit storys and that are connected with the story of someone else, etc...
Cookie Run Kingdom is actually really fun to play and even if you don't spend a penny it is a relaxing game but even I knew as I saw Cookie Run in the thumbnail I could hear your wallet crying!
Kaif's suffering is worth its weight in gold, I approve of this waste of money!👍
Oh god cookie run... CR Kingdom and Love Nikki drained me 3k in like 4 years.
Which ain't as bad in most countries but in sweden its 30k in our currency where you could easily get a big-ass apartment AND buy 4 cats
I kid you not, 5 minutes after reading this comment while watching the video, what do I get an ad for? *Infinity Nikki.* Not Love Nikki, but it’s one of the Nikki games it seems.
@TheSpitefulAngel I get genuine ptsd from seeing those ads now
@TheSpitefulAngel Try it
Kaif is gonna have the strongest Rebel cookie known to man
fun fact: coin massster has a bunch of super weird celebrity adverts... like, WHY would they get celebrity sponsorships...
I was glad to see coin master on here today, thanks for the fun times!
Also if you're interested in how shady that game is, Jarvis Johnson made a pretty good video about it (writing this before the end btw)
EDIT: One of the reasons it's so lucrative is that it has a bazillion ads with well known celebrities, falsely advertising the gameplay
really enjoying this seris Kaif , i think the donating to chairty is a great idea great work
One of best streams I was lucky to enjoy. Can't wait to rewatch the cookies hell
(I also don't speak russian, which seems to be the primary language they're using)
What i DO find weird is that one of the characters is basically named "finland" in finnish (Suomi)
And so there he was. Trapped forever in gacha hell. Caused by a horrible force called Cookie Run Kingdom.
Wooo another episode !! Loving this series :DD
Of course Kaif gets a panda character. Somehow he always finds his way to a panda.
GFL and GFL2 are actually really fun once you get past all the gooner bait and usual mobile game bs (which even then its not as bad as other mobile games)
If you only said that about GFL2 I'd believe you
@SpecsWitched the first one is not perfect (far from it, in fact), but it's has a pretty good premise.
Out of all the games you could have picked;
You picked Cookie Run.
(Which I did not expect considering I PLAY THE GAME JNDJNF)
Can't believe he spends this much money on these games and then doesn't use this account for them if he plays them later.
You know I was watching in the background and when I looked back I couldn't help but notice HE'S STILL ON THE FUCKING COOKIE GAME WHAT?!
Sneaky kaif spending his gamba money bcs its a “rule”😂
Every time someone says yes to a micro transaction, a bankers headache gets a little stronger.
The only videos on RUclips that get immediate like and comment from me. Anything I can do to boost that return value!
Honestly, next video.. Mighty party... if it's anything in the start of the game, as it is when you get further into it.. it's hell for this challenge
The amount of Polish words as names in first games is making me laugh (Krolik/Królik - Bunny, Groza - Fright, Poludnica/Południca - Lady Midday (ghost from folklore)) XDD
ayyyy GFL2! been loving the game so far, and waiting for my fav T-Dolls to make a return. also, the FOMO in the game really isn't all that bad. in the month since the game released, it's been VERY generous with the "premium" currency. at least 250-300 pulls worth of it. i've only gotten the battle pass since i like the company and the other GFL universe games they've made, and even after pulling 3 limited characters (2 Suomi, 1 Makiatto) and losing 1 50/50, i still have 130 pulls left right now
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS but when you own the item I think you should spend double then the original price 😂
I think we all need to thank kaif for his pain cause my lord is it fucking hilarious
love the charity rule, its a lot better than giving these games more money
Have fun being a kingdom tuber from now on
If there's another episode in this, "try" out Hawk, it's up there in the "good game but why do you want so much money"
Put a timer below your cam and an animation that adds 5 minutes every time a micro transaction pops up
Gfl is actually very big, exilium is pretty, and gameplay is a great improvement over first one.
Kaif making every crk players cry with his luck
So the names in the first game are weird. Another one of "mashup the languages to make it sound cooler"
From what I've seen:
Groza - in Ukrainian/Russian = гроза/гроза -> Thunder or Thunderstorm;
Krolik - (depending on how you want to pronounce the "i" it's also the case of-) Ukrainian/Russian = кролик/кролик (yes, those 2 words are pronounced differently) -> Bunny or Rabbit;
Poludnitca(?) - purely Ukrainian word ("d" is unnecessary here) = полуниця -> Strawberry; Edit: nope, not strawberry lol, old Russian myth.
Papasha - purely Russian word = папаша -> Daddy. (Calling anime girl(?) Daddy lol)
So some names are just other languages words with English spelling.
I wonder if Papasha is something they chose because she uses a PPSH and thought it was clever (PaPaSha)
Doesn't Poludnitca represent person who wander around in the noon like (Полуденница), in similarity to Polunochnik(Полуночник) -person who wanders in midnight?
@@Tsunkai_Emtico she is
i thought groza and królik were in polish when i saw those names, didn't know they were words in ukrainian/russian too. the meaning for królik is the same but groza in polish means terror instead.
@@Tsunkai_Emtico could be, yes, and it's probably more appropriate for a game like that
i use to play cookie run back when oven break was the only app and it was more of just an endless runner.
they still had gatcha but little pop ups and you could get everything with just playing the game.
I would get thousands of gems just playing once a month and they didn't have all this event overload.
i love the game but i hate what it's turned in to. i can't even find the endless run mode if it even still exists and that's what i liked most about the game.
