  • Hi everyone! This week we're going to clean up the 1957 Dodge Mayfair we bought a while ago, and then it's time to sort out the misfiring DS! Agent 6288 stopped in with a rare Fiat 128 Coupe, so we had to go for a drive in that, for sure! Always a good time to shuffle the car lot a bit, and the legendary Agent 303 was in town, so we went to look at another parts car... Last but not least, a Special Edition episode of "My Classic Darts" for Victoria Day!

They ain't purty but we ain't too,

Much enjoy the old Chrysler Corp. land barges ( and all the others) around your place! I ran about 4 of them in succession as heavily used drivers in the 70's. '59 Desota, '65 Chrysler Newport, '70 Dodge Coronet, '73 Plymouth Fury. All were quite reliable, especially the '65 Newport which was truly an Iron lady. Two of them had Torqueflites go bad. A rebuild cost about $300 US back then.
The Fiat coupe brought back a lot of memories of a '76 Fiat 128 1300 sedan that an ex wife bought. Purchased new in '78 as a two year old leftover. $3k. For some reason that one had been built with a 4.7 "Alpine use" final drive. It would climb very steep hills with 4 passengers. Engine was an absolute SOHC jewel and was built to rev. I got to work on it (a lot). No major failures in about 75k miles. Struts lasted about 15k and exhaust systems with pressed steel mufflers, about twice than. Factory parts were dirt cheap however, back them. Full retail on a strut cartridge was about $18. Early mass selling FWD auto. I thought it clever that the spare was mounted in the engine bay between the engine and firewall. It must have helped, because the ex survived a head on with a full size Impala in a '71 128 before this one. The engine on the Chev was in their front seat. The 128's hot sales in Europe were said to be partially responsible for the demise of VW's Beetle. The 128 was said to be the only auto that was built to pass an upcoming 80 mph roll over testing in the US. The test was rescinded after Detroit and others screamed loud and hard. Evidently, the 128 2 dr sedan box was quite a sturdy cage. I nearly bought a new left over Brava in the early 80's. It had funk and was luxurious for a Fiat. Glad I passed, all considered. All the hordes of X1-9's seemed to disappear quickly.

What a prince of a show gentlemen. I did so through enjoy this publication of metal and of course "darts". I do think that Frankers is really enjoying the videos as well. What a great job that "Dog" has done to heal memories of Stella. I think that the four door might just save a cousin to the fury just all but finished. I do so hope that you daily it for a bit before parking it up. I see so much iron in the woods here that has trees growing through it/them. I had one running some time ago that until they told me now they had to cut a tree over ten inches in diameter which means to me it was there a while for that tree took to growing so must be a good twenty years on that part and a limb had made its way between the block and a manifold an was like that distance thick but must of gone a good eight or more inches wide..... and it still ran with part of the wire an plug healed to that tree!!! Like how the 59 dodge cleaned up. She is such a candidate for a two door conversion and look good. Must have a set of doors and a b pillar stored with it. Okay it might be okay with you to have the more door option. Not me as a pride and joy like Peter Anderson's collection. I just wish that the gold gods were to give you a stack of doors to choose from. Thinking that ... most people are kinda herd followers. They die in a room full of water as it rises rather than go across two strands of dead electric fence. Sad don't you think??? I know it like a grown person

Last to first. I love ‘Classic Darts’! The Scream blowing smoke rings, the gasoline can. All the rest, besides.
The days when one had matches or a nice lighter. (Zippo).
The table lighters though. Whatever happened to mine?
    I dunno 🤷🏼‍♂️
Thanks for the forward looks and the fuurin cars too.

Dear CWM buff and dent out master.
👍👌👏 You did a great job on this "Dodg"! Hope that you will fix the rustholes above the eyebrows too.
But maaaan, that's not fair! Besides that great inside and outside mostly green Frazer with its gorgeous interior you have another fantastic green car. Even finned and with green/blue windows. Is the interior also green? I hope that it will be back on the road again some day.
    2) When I saw agent Dean admiring the blue Fury I was hoping so very much that you would put the last trim piece on the left rear fender. Like a drug addict I'm always desperately waiting to see another trim piece going on that first class top high end restored car.
    3) By the way: Wouldn't/couldn't that "sexy" black 4dr Fury be a reliable good looking car for Mean Clean Dean? If not I nevertheless hope that the car will find a new and better home on your property! 💚 Didn't you here it cry "please rescue me"? 😁
    4) Good grief, those DS points looked really bad. I didn't know that it is possible to take away so much material and they still work well. It seems that it's nearly all the time better repairing original stuff than replacing it with crap from China!?
The Citroen engine runs very rough for my kind of taste. But I'm sure that you know if it is okay the way it is.
    5) That little Fiat would even look better with its original colour. Nevertheless it's in an astonishing great condition. In former times we always said that Fiats will rust already in the brochure if the paper gets wet a little bit! 😁
Indeed I'm not able to understand how driving this thing can be a pleasure with that unhealthy, annoying knocking noise coming from the engine. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the car in that condition and I definitely wouldn't drive it. But, as always, it's only a matter of personal taste (said the ape and bites in the soap). Nothing more, nothing less. I'm pretty curious to see the car run with the 1.5 l motor from the X1/9.
    6) Please have mercy with those old tyres while arranging the cars. Treat them at least a little bit of fresh air.
    7) Can hardly wait to watch the next video. I could/would watch your content every day. Therefore I will watch this video for the second time right after the commenting.
Thanks a lot for making teaching recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health to all of you.

My Classic Darts story. My wife is Dominican. I bought a used van. In the glovebox, a 6 pack of Hilton branded darts. Unopened. From the Santo Domingo Hilton. My in laws got a huge laugh watching me smoke them. My mother-in-law brings me Nacionals when she visits.

@@carhead9397 After I restored my first Model A Ford in 1953, guess what car he took if his and mine were in the driveway. However he never said he liked me saving and restoring old cars. I have a real nice collection of 540 today, if he was alive and could see what they are worth and compare that to the peanuts I paid for them he might change his mind. Thanks for the comment. Cheers.

You can tell when spring comes to Alberta. The agents’ Attention Deficit Disorder really begins to take hold. It makes for an entertaining and diverse episode. Thank you for the patience to edit it all.
