It’s not Halloween without a some Hocus Pocus! I’m a fan of the movie and I enjoyed this so much man great job tracking all of this down. I enjoyed this very much
It seriously feels like yesterday when I used to watch this movie on TV back when it first aired on Disney in the early 90s. It's hard to believe this movie is already almost 30 years old. Everytime it comes on today, it's like no time has passed. This movie aged beautifully.
I used to live one town over from Salem and would spend most weekends just walking around that town and marveling at the historic homes/pubs. I miss it so much. Thanks for taking us back through one of my favorite spots on earth.
Someone might have already posted this; however, the interiors for Allison’s house were filmed in California. The same house they used in Scream 2 for Omega Beta Zeta.
Oh wow this video is so cool I watched hocus pocus as a kid and I still do along with watching Halloweentown movies too every year. Hocus Pocus scared me as a kid but now that I’m a adult I find hocus Pocus very funny
I watched it like 500 times as a kid. I just Introduced it to my kids and my smallest wants to keep watching it lol. Every time I get stuck watching it with them like I’ve never watched it before 😂
Eric from Marblehead here!!! You captured my house in your video! To clarify, Marblehead (like other adjacent towns) was just a section of Salem until it became its own town in 1648. The red square tower is not a church, but Abbot Hall (1876), our newest Town Hall, the yellow building in the bike scene/corner is our second Town Hall from 1727. Also, the houses with white chimneys with a black band painted at the top (such as in your video) was a secret sign that the house was owned by Loyalists who supported the British cause during the revolution. Next time you come this way, look us up, and we'll show you all the other (secret!) locations in town where this, and other, movies were filmed from 1910's to present! Cheers!
Hocus Pocus is my all time favorite Halloween movie and watch it every October! Thank you for sharing the locations! I live in Massachusetts and was honored being able to visit the locations in person with my husband too! The Witch Museum I feel like has the line out the door all the time especially in October. Going in October is crazy busy! I was just happy to get to see the Kids house , Allison's house and Town Hall and get pics with them.
The interior of the Ropes mansion looks nothing like the film. That was filmed in California. I worked at the Corwin house (the Witch House), and many people would ask me if that was in the film. I live in Salem, right off the Common. Glad you enjoyed your time in my crazy town.
Watching people walking without masks now feels like watching an old early 1900's video. I want the no-mask days back 😭 On the other hand, amazing video! It's insane! Everything looks the same as the movie. I wanna go there one day.
Great job! When we do filming location videos we often ponder the same thing. All of that travel for just a few seconds of footage. But it’s the adventure! 🤘
Such a great video! Great job!!! Love Salem we go every year it’s not Halloween 🎃 with out Salem and not so scary Disney World. It’s just a fun video . 😊
Great research as always my friend. I grew up in Southern NH and we went to Salem often but never visited those filming sights. Thanks so much for the great video.
Thank you for taking the time to do this. I think it’s pretty cool to see. An also to remember scenes in the movie at those locations is pretty neat to see how it all ended up being tied together. Definitely for sure brings back childhood nostalgia.
What a great video with super location matchups. On a side note, I dabble in genealogy and my wife has direct ancestors who lived in Salem during the witch trials. Some relatives on both sides of the issue.
9:21 your impression of Winnie had me burst out laughing😂 Thanks for making this video though, was interesting to see were it was filmed and what those locations look like today.
Just found your channel thanks to the announcement of the new Hocus Pocus sequel! This is a great video, so full of nostalgia. I couldn’t help but smile the entire time. Fantastic job! I am going to binge your channel. Hope you have much more like this to come!
Marblehead MA was part of Salem MA at one time . The Ropes Mansion is haunted . The black on the chimney is to tell who was for British or independent during the revolutionary war

Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words...I spent a few weeks working on this in Orlando then traveling to Salem to hunt down the spots! If you enjoyed this location video i did a video on Edward Scissorhands not to long ago! Feel free to check it out! Thanks again!
Regarding Max's house: I wonder why they decided that particular house, did they have to pay the owner to film there? Maybe someone who was working on the movie knew the owner of the house? If I owned that house, I would make it a museum for the month of October. A good little side hustle.
Thanks for including an ancestor of mine in the video! I've been to Salem a couple times, and would love to take my wife there to see some of our family "history!" :)
Now you tell me! LOL! I love the movie 🎥, watch it every year since it came out, but missed it this year due to the small amount of advertising stating air times ⏲️.
Great video! I never knew about the Friends fountain. I've never seen American Beauty, but I believe the house you're referring to is also the Griswolds house in Christmas Vacation.
Thanks for putting out this video, I appreciate the research and the effort you must have put into it! This movie always brings back good memories. There is one exterior shot missing though, the beginning of the sequence where Max is riding his bicycle in front of Abbot Hall in Marblehead. Otherwise excellent work mate, thanks for sharing

The house was in uptown Whittier in CA. We had no idea at the time we were watching such an iconic movie being filmed. My daughter was 7 at the time and was really scared of all the screaming taking place. Thank you again for reposting this for me to find!

Thank u for your video . This movie I my favourite and bring smiles bc I have 2 younger sisters and the way the 3 actresses portrayed the witches and their personalities is just like us. 😂😂😂
Some of the trick or treat scenes were done in uptown Whittier, California near Friends park. My Dad’s house was used for exterior when you see rainbow skeleton.
Now this is a guy who truly loves cinema.
Thank you very much

It is hard to believe it’s been nearly 30 years. And you’re right, it aged amazingly!
I just turned 30 and grew up with this movie. Gosh time flies... I feel so old.
I have the same feeling. As soon as i put it on, i instantly remember my middle school days and how carefree life was.
Great job researching and hunting down those locations! I know the hard work and passion you put into this is so worth it.
Aimless Adventures thanks buddy!

The Witch House belonged to the Judge from the Salem Witch trials. Can’t remember his name. John something I think.
It was actually moved to the location , to make the street bigger .when cars became more common
John Proctor?
Nathaniel Hawthorne’s House of the seven Gables. I’ve been there, it’s amazing!

Just stumbled on this video 📹, loved it. Mau have to subscribe.
The inside of the Ropes mansion was really cool though. A lot of history.
10:10 that's an exterior LED light that points down. Its a very modern design and its not obvious what it is unless you see it at night
Love Salem! Will check out these extra locations next trip. Thanks!
Have fun
Some of the trick or treat scenes were done in uptown Whittier, California near Friends park. My Dad’s house was used for exterior when you see rainbow skeleton.
Very cool! I wish I could have added that scene to this video but it didn’t happen
