2 MILLION VIEWS! Honestly, we never expected this little labor of love would still be getting watched 9 years after the whole thing was finally completed, and 19 years after it was originally filmed. Thanks to those who understand that making something like this, largely with amateurs and enthusiasts, is tough. To the rest: thanks for watching-even if you didn't like it. And to those who feel the need to make mean and belittling comments, consider the mantra from Everything Everywhere All At Once: Be Kind.
I think you can ignore the nay-sayers. This is extremely well done and - better than that - properly entertaining. But I think you know this, you don't need any validation from me!
In 5 years you will have 10 million views, and you & your crew deserve it for your hard work & time. People were, and still are HUNGRY for the Original Star Trek's style.
Who would write a nasty comment about this? It's a tremendous achievement. Producing a show like this is a MONUMENTAL task. That's why television shows cost so much You all did a fantastic job! Bravo to you all!
@@bencoss7003 I think you're being unfair. The slick, polished sci-fi you see on Netflix or other such places costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, to produce. They use highly trained actors that they've hand picked from thousands who've auditioned for the roles, the tech people they use are also very highly trained, and have gone through a long apprenticeship. They spend hundreds and hundreds of man-hours putting it all together. It's more than a full time job. The people who make these fan productions are all amateurs using their spare cash, and fitting it into their schedules that are filled with the work they have to do to live. This isn't their career, they've had relatively little or no training. Seen from that perspective, these fan productions are miraculous. They actually approach (in some ways) the level of entertainment the expensive shows attain. Yes, there are flaws, but that's not at all due to a lack of effort of creativity.
@@johnmanno2052 Yes to all that, and I'll add that the theme and execution of this particular story is an explanation of what you and me love about good Trek.
Despite all the cruel comments and sarcasm I really enjoyed this ver of Star Trek. People tend to compare the acting lights & sounds to the original Star Trek which is natural. Great job everyone job well done . I hope to see more like this honoring age old & good ol days of sifi. Peace to all those that have truly gone on ahead on a new journey. ❤️❤️ It!
This is what I as a lifelong Star Trek fan want to see. A different crew and ship set in the eras we know and love, having adventures we didn't see because we were following those of Enterprise rather than her sister ships. No need for "galaxy ending threats", or melodrama, or deconstructing what Trek was all about, and no need to reinvent the wheel either. Just make new standalone stories in the setting that follow the rules and fit the tone and theme. This accomplishes that goal nicely!
My compliments and sincere admiration to all the people involved in this production! The passion and love for the original Star Trek show are evident. The sets are beyond amazing in detail. Is the acting perfect? Well, maybe not, but then I've watched a number of these fan made episodes, while I've avoided almost all of the "professionally made" Star Trek material since Voyager ended. I find these far more superior and enjoyable. Many thanks to those who put all of the time, effort, and energy into these fan productions! Your devotion to the Star Trek universe always leaves me appreciative and a little emotional.
I saw the original series in 1966. If this episode, The Tressaurian Intersection, had been aired as a regular episode in the 1966-67 season, it would have fit right in. We would have thought 'that was a good one', and 'what great writing and special effects'.
This was fantastic. I enjoyed watching it. It felt like Star Trek The Original. This seemed better than the current Star Trek series. I only discovered this today, July 2024
I am surprised and delighted you tube sent this my way. I was hopeful at the start that it wasn't some spoof or comic sarcasm of the original. I completely enjoyed the show. Many thank you s to all involved. Ps I watched the original shows each week in the '60's. theywere good memories.

I am not quite sure what to make of this program, but I admire the attention to TOS detail and the efforts of these actors. A far more enjoyable Star Trek experience than any of the latest stuff.
My thanks to everyone in the crew and cast for putting in all the hard time and effort ( Not to mention expense.) to bring us an extremely entertaining story

Just found this. Fantastic, I completely enjoyed this "episode". You brought everything that made original Star Trek special to the table. Beautiful sets, good special effects. Like the way the exec used both the dress uniform on the bridge & the woman's pantsuit uniform for away team or active duty assignments. Loved the line "they'll be just as dead in person". And lizard aliens always work. What fun. Thank you so much.
Regardless of anyone’s annoyance at this, I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised and impressed! I think if it was picked up for a series the acting would continue to grow and get better!!-I loved it!

simply outstanding! the theme held strong to the overall premise of star trek. great special effects, sets, and costumes, too. wish you could produce more as this was a quality effort and much appreciated. thank you!!
This was one of the earliest fan attempts using truly realistic sets, and you can tell it was a labor of love. I loved the opening title theme and the music cues. They are wonderful!
As an older person who watched the original Star Trek as a kid, I really enjoyed this. It was truly reminiscent of an older style late 60's show. I just recently retired and now have lots more time to check out youtube stuff. I'm glad I ran across this!
Remember, there is no young and old! These are but our limitations. There is less experience, there is more experience. You are not old! You just have more experience.🐴🏜👍
An amazing homage to to TOS series. Truly an amazing independent effort that captures the feel, look and soul of the original. 10 out of 10, and kudos to all involved!
I think the acting is delightful. People should take a chill pill as well as delight in the great feat of emulation and homage achieved here. Outstanding in all regards.
A genuinely good ST story. What I really admire about this is that not one of the characters is merely an analog to an original ST series chr. They are distinct. I think that's a hard thing to do for a Star Trek fan.
Thank you so much for a magnificent production with superior acting, and production values! This production exemplifies the finest traditions of everything that is *_Star Trek!_*
The audience is always right about what it likes and it doesn't like. We're happy with the result and if some viewers enjoy it, bonus. To those who tried it and didn't like it, we appreciate that they gave it a shot. We don't label critics "Haters."
Well made and very enjoyable. There have been a few negative comments about the acting, but in my honest opinion, I think that they did well. It's not every day that a person gets the chance to engage in a very realistic revitalization of Star Trek TOS in their own way and perception. The sets, sound effects and music score were well done and in the right places. I saw no errors in the acting and the character movements. Everything seemed like it should be and as one would expect from a Star Trek TOS episode as it was done in the 1960's. Please continue to make more, I would be interested in what you all cam come up with next. I wish I could join you.
I just stumbled onto this today. You have done a better job recreating the tone, feel and spirit of the original series than any ‘official’ Star Trek in decades.
August 2024, and I'm just now seeing your production. Star Trek, TOS, was the first TV show that I saw in color- and it was at a neighbor's house on their TV, after school one day. It was when the series was in syndication - about 1969, or 1970. Your magnificent production has exactly recreated the look of everything from the Shatner/Nimoy TV series. Great work!❤
Oh WOW !!! This is absolutely BRILLIANT !!! I love the way that the very first shot mimics the original Star Trek when it pans right inside the USS Exeter. What's even more amazing is that I've read that this was mostly done with miniatures and model shots. I really wish they'd let people like you run the likes of the Star Trek movies and Star Trek Discovery. A huge congratulations and thank you to all concerned.
Who do I beg for more episodes? It wasn’t perfect but it captured the spirit of Trek and isn’t that the most important thing? Definitely need more episodes. After all, practice makes perfect!
Congratulations! An excellent addition to the original series. I'm amazed at the overall production quality - storyline, special effects, music, editing, etc. Presumably done on a much smaller budget that the original, but having the same feel. Well done!
Having participated in many small privately funded productions I can clearly see the effort put forth from every aspect of this episode, I am impressed, this is not an easy task coming on the heals of the Original Star Trek... I am a very big fan of Star Trek Continues where the Talent of the production is PERFECTION.
I remember a long time ago when I could only find snippets of this incredible episode that I had to play in a little media player. I'm talking at least 12-13 years ago. Seeing it here in full is simply incredible. It has heart, action, science, acting chops, great camera work (inside the shuttle was especially good), superb sound effects... I can't say enough good things. I'm sure everyone involved has moved on to new things, but let it be said that all of you have created one of the greatest Star Trek episodes of all time. It's actually not even an episode. It's a movie. Thanks so much.
Over-the-top acting (at the time) but an EXCELLENT STORY. Exeter will never be #1 of the four TOS fandoms that existed in the early 2000s but it will fight (and fight well) for that #2 of 4 spots...
@@pike100 New Voyages/Phase Two; ST Continues, Exeter and Farragut... those four specialized in TOS era fandom, there was another that was set in the TNG era (much more blue screen in use)
I have read the many negative comments below but I must say this is the closest return to the original star trek at one millionth of the budget with unknown actors, how so many have been seduced by the CGI and hollyweird rubbish pushed out today amazes me..I may be a grey beard but my voice still stands look at the sets and original acting when Kirk first took out the first Enterprise where no man had gone before ....hello from Australia
What a great homage to the original series, while offering something new. This is by far better than any new Trek on offer here in 2022. Looks like it was made with a lot of love and respect to the original.
This has the feel of Original Trek, visual effects were quite good. You have give credit for dedicated effort of fans. Great job with ship models. Especially like the effects for Tholians and their ships. That last 4 minutes was exciting and action packed any Original episode. Bravo 👏
This stuff is better than anything Star Trek stuff the professionals are putting out. It has the look and fell of the original series. I’d rather watch this than the stuff Hollywood is putting out
That is exactly what I have been looking for for years. I didn't know a sizzle reel existed at that length and I wondered back at the time why the real StarkTrek Original Series actors didn't join the series! Seriously, that is a great work of art.
Really impressive attention to details. Props, costumes, sets, VFX, SFX, incidental music, even the fonts used in the titling. All very good. I feel some others here below have been somewhat unkind about the acting, I found it generally competent and the plot seemed entirely consistent with many of those from the initial 2 seasons of Star Trek. Overall, I applaud what I consider a very worthy effort.
If the title and the name of the ship were changed, and the actors replaced by the Star Trek actors, this film would be indistinguishable from the TV series. This is a very impressive accomplishment. Well done.
But when you said "...and the actors replaced by the Star Trek actors, this film would be indistinguishable from the TV series" That's the problem. Slightly off acting.
@@paulbriggs3072 I can't argue with that. Some of the acting was a little "wooden" shall we say. It was certainly the weak point. Acting can be learned, but given this was filmed in 2004, I don't expect further episodes. I do not however know if there were any others made. I hope so because it would be a damn shame to go to all that effort for only one episode.
I really enjoyed this. This is true Star Trek. I am glad they chose to not have the setting on Enterprise. A new ship and new characters are very welcome.
Impressive. It's odd that I can't watch the broadcast TV Star Trek later series, like Next Generation, but episodes like this, set in the same era as TOS, are most enjoyable. Maybe because I can imagine that somewhere, Kirk and crew are still out there.
Wow, this is incredible. I thought it was a Star Trek spin off that I'd somehow missed. Wasn't till I started reading comments that I finally twigged. Well done to the folks involved in the making of this. You've done Star Trek proud. You should also be proud of yourselves!
Watch the Star Trek: Continues series. They made 11 episodes. Including a two part finally that concluded the original series. Best fan film series ever made (in my opinion).
I liked the call backs to the Tholians and the race related to the Gorn. It’s really good considering it’s a fan project and I enjoyed it…wish there were more episodes. Regardless of what you think about the acting, they did an excellent job of replicating the sets, costumes, and special effects of the original.
This is exactly what I want from a new Star Trek series: something with new stories and new characters that still looks and sounds exactly like it was made in the late 1960s. For me this is mental comfort food. Thank you.
Like or hate the show, racial, sexist, and other derogatory comments will be deleted immediately and the posters banned from the channel. Your opinion on the work is welcome, but vulgar or defamatory comments about people and groups are not.
TheStarshipExeter Frankly, I don't know what to say. You know that it's about chemistry between actors, sex appeal, emotional conflict, heartache, and such. It's like a group of ensemble actors. It reminds me of being on stage. Then you kind of expanded out from there, not starting at the special effects you could pull off, which were good, and then come up with some story. Yeah, it reminded me of when I was onstage, doing some serious acting with some good people. Tight performances all the way around, with the slightest bit of film noir. 5 Stars.
+Michael Haney they had their own set, this episode was filmed over 10 years ago. A group in Oklahoma now have their bridge set and some other productions have used it. Farragut's set is in Georgia
I am not sure who put this together but bravo as a SiFi fan and growing up with Star Trek what a spot on Job it was like watching an old trek show making you laugh at the old special Effects props on key while keeping on the story line with interest and emotion for the characters I hope to see more thanks for the great work 👍

-Our sets were custom built at Austin Studios and have no connection to other fanfilm series (though we donated the bridge to other productions), and shot next door to the Mike Judge film "Idiocracy"
-This is the same Exeter seen in "The Omega Glory", hence the lizard's line "You command the unwanted starship filled with the ghosts of a dead crew."

As an older person who watched the original Star Trek as a kid, I really enjoyed this. It was truly reminiscent of an older style late 60's show. I just recently retired and now have lots more time to check out youtube stuff. I'm glad I ran across this!
Like going back in time.
Holy smokes!!! The sets are so awesome I thought I was watching the original. These fan films are getting better and better.
And this is already 14 years old ;) The full episode was released in 2014 but they started releasing parts of it ten years earlier.
Did they make only one episode
@@Mark-fm5eq 2 one was cheesy as hell but had a anice story but this one really hits it.
I think the acting is delightful. People should take a chill pill as well as delight in the great feat of emulation and homage achieved here. Outstanding in all regards.
Got to appreciate the hard work and dedication that's gone into this.
Very true to the original in every way.
Well done!
A genuinely good ST story.
What I really admire about this is that not one of the characters is merely an analog to an original ST series chr. They are distinct. I think that's a hard thing to do for a Star Trek fan.
Thank you so much for a magnificent production with superior acting, and production values! This production exemplifies the finest traditions of everything that is *_Star Trek!_*
don't listen to the haters, they're jealous. you made a great show in a classic style🖖
Great work!❤
Excellent sets, effects and uniforms. Nice to see some grit in the Trek world. This was a lot of fun to watch! Thanks!
Not gonna happen, but thank you anyway!
This was really GREAT!!! True to Trek and certainly exceptional acting by everyone!! Great job!! I enjoyed the heck out of this!!!
Well done!
@@tehpw7574What 4 Trek fandoms are you speaking of?
@@pike100 New Voyages/Phase Two; ST Continues, Exeter and Farragut... those four specialized in TOS era fandom, there was another that was set in the TNG era (much more blue screen in use)
Star trek fan since childhood...this is friggin awesome.,thanks for your hard work...
Holy shit… I’d almost given up on finding anything I could enjoy in the world of Star Trek Fan Films. But this is just, insanely good. I’m blown away.
I’d rather watch this than the stuff Hollywood is putting out
Fantastic work its like finding a missing episode thank you for making.
Very entertaining and nicely done. Kudos to the cast, crew and production team.
They did a great job of making this look cohesive with the original star trek.
I just watched this. It took me back to the 70's when TV was fun. I too thought this was a spin off series. Too bad, it was a good show. Well done.
This was increadably well done. It holds perfectly to the atmosphere of TOS.
Even though it was filmed and released so long ago, a very nice job & a real Trek TOS feel! Nice job folks!
I liked the call backs to the Tholians and the race related to the Gorn. It’s really good considering it’s a fan project and I enjoyed it…wish there were more episodes. Regardless of what you think about the acting, they did an excellent job of replicating the sets, costumes, and special effects of the original.
Another fan series that I am enjoying. Thank you for making this. It feels like classic Star Trek to me.
This is exactly what I want from a new Star Trek series: something with new stories and new characters that still looks and sounds exactly like it was made in the late 1960s. For me this is mental comfort food. Thank you.
I agree....definitely my type of comfort food for thought as well.... and hopefully a better future
Like or hate the show, racial, sexist, and other derogatory comments will be deleted immediately and the posters banned from the channel. Your opinion on the work is welcome, but vulgar or defamatory comments about people and groups are not.
TheStarshipExeter I love this!
5 Stars.
TheStarshipExeter Beautiful piece of work, you should be proud of it .
what happened?
+Michael Haney they had their own set, this episode was filmed over 10 years ago. A group in Oklahoma now have their bridge set and some other productions have used it. Farragut's set is in Georgia
Loved all the sounds too!
Excellent sound quality especially with earbuds.
Swell job! I wish my mom was still alive to see this, she was a major fan of StarTrek.
I am not sure who put this together but bravo as a SiFi fan and growing up with Star Trek what a spot on Job it was like watching an old trek show making you laugh at the old special Effects props on key while keeping on the story line with interest and emotion for the characters I hope to see more thanks for the great work 👍
Excellent! Im a big fan of fan made star trek and you guys knocked this one out of the park. Thank you so much
Best fan film ever! Acting, Special effects, Plot, and Theme
Don't forget about the sets. I thought the sets were amazing too.
