I saw this whole concert documentary back in the 70's when this first came out and had been trying to find it since. I caught Gino in concert a couple years ago and was lucky enough to be able to talk to him after the concert and asked him about this special. He told me it was on RUclips so I checked it out and actually found it. This video is just a small part of the show that followed him and the band in concert, backstage, between shows and on the road. It was a very well done show but now I can't seem to find it on here anymore. Anybody else have it in their favorites?
If I could just stand up and shout it, Why cant they let goodness be, Well its a lonely afternoon, Whit nowhere to go but my room, And Sunday when theres time, I think of these things on my mind. But monday ...
The intro here gives me chills as this was how the show in New Orleans opened at the Municipal Auditorium April '79 ! I remember the feeling of impending musical ecstasy ! Also remember the ladies up near the stage and all their commotion , ha bad to the bone !
My home town... I was in khaki uniform at Jesuit High School when Powerful People the album came out. I'd never heard anything like it before. Way ahead of its time. That whole album so awesome, personally I think any one of them far better than the few radio-hits that are all you see on youtube. "Lady" is far superior ballad to "I just want to stop" but you'll never see it here! Actually i think there may be one video of "Lady" ... I also loved the song i think it was called New York Gun "Jack Miraculous, he was a sure spectaculous, son of a new york gun, look out Jack!" -- and that wild synth keyboards arrangement blending into New York City police sirens....

Too bad there seems to be no long actual live footage of Gino and band performing these classics on stage in the 1970s. I mean, I can see there actually is footage, but whoever owns it seems uninterested in releasing it - C'mon dudes...I buy it! Put out a DVD or something
@MusicMinder I walk past the Maple Leaf Gardens every day but I am too young to have been around then. You'd never know walking past today how many great shows were held right there.
You're so right ... New Orleans was a destination for live music then -- the Allman Brothers always played New Year's Eve at The Warehouse downtown.... I, a Jesuit High School boy, was too young to go!
@quicksite Saw the great Jeff Beck at the Warehouse in Dec 76. Ever see a show at Rosy's ? My jazz aficionado cousin Mark loved that place . RIP Mark .

Female backing vocalists never wore bras in the 70s! That ROCKS!!!
