I adore this scent and it loves my my skin. You described every aspect of it perfectly. A lovely review. Thank you for putting my nose experience into words. I can’t stop being courted by, fascinated with and pleased by this exquisite scent as the day wears on. It is a true beauty. ♥️
Wonderful review. 'majestic animality' could be the tagline for the ad! Love how you broke it down without the routine references to Shalimar and Coromandel. It's one of those scents that made me think that I've reached the end of the journey, I'll marry this one. That never lasts though, even if it has all the qualities of a signature scent. (currently fallen back in love with an eighties chypre, Diva by Ungaro - incidentally by Olivier's dad Jacques. Sublime. Finally got the original cut glass bottle, which is still being produced. Another 'end of the journey' scent).
Hello Pep, this sounds like it's up my alley. I need to find a way to sample this soon. Sounds so good! I enjoyed your review. Thanks for taking the time to do a focus on Le Lion. - Jenn
Great and well articulated video Pep! The first two times I tried Le Lion on my skin didn’t convince me or I didn’t appreciate it much but the third time did something and I knew it was going to be a love and I got a bottle and couldn’t be happier. It’s beautiful!
Ha - this review came out while I was wearing le lion. I get quite a bit of labdanum and powder (oddly) in the base - which softens the scent the longer it is on the skin. I freaked out when you were spraying liberally in the intro until i realised it was a small sample vial. Overspray this and it is VICIOUS
Just discovered this today. This is a gem, resinous, warm, musky. almost organic in a way ? The name is really well chosen. I see this as a rounder/ less exuberant The Dark Side by Francesca Bianchi
Great stuff ain't it? Makes you hope next launches will meet this level of craftsmanship. When it launched here and me and the wife went to the local boutique we weren't even interested on trying it because this line is "been there done that" to us, but the manager insisted. By the time the wife was done shopping with 2h in on her skin, we bought it and no regrets. Beautiful composition.
I love this too! I know it’s a bit of an extreme image, but to me it smells like two people wearing Shalimar and Musc Ravageur had sex, and now the combined smell of their fragrances left on the sheets with their own natural odours! It’s soooo good and one that I’ve come to love!
@@western-oud1898 if current Shalimar's sound is SHHHHHHHHH then Le Lions sound is BANGGGGGGGGG. If Shalimar's colour is dusty, pale yellow then Le Lion is a saturated, rich, deep mustard. Hope this helps 😁

Lovely thoughtful review, I've held off for this so far.... tempted now. Many thanks.
This will be my next purchase as well, for sure. Great review!
Thank you
This stuff is truly great. Comparisons to other similar fragrances aside I still think it's one of the best releases in recent years, from any house.
Bought it already, you can overspray this and still enjoy.....i am pretty sure i will buy a replacement bottle for it

Pep, you are SO articulate. I love listening to you. You could be talking about anything, honestly.
Thank goodness you think so,Stephen. I doubt myself sometimes.
I got this in a sample today. So far, it's been a luxurious earthiness that is really captivating. Yes, this will be joining my wardrobe.
I don't blame you.
After finishing my sample, a bottle is on its way! Had to.
Le Lion is insane, easily one of my favorites of all time.

IMO, no fragrance reviewer is anywhere near as articulate as Pep. Love this man's way with words.

Treat yourself for certain.
I haven't had the chance to sample Le Lion, but soon I will.
Thank you for the review Pep.
Bergapatch. 😄 A beast indeed! 🦁 Lovely review Pep.

Got it and love it - and yes it has an edge that most Chanel fragrances doesn’t have
It’s absolutely amazing. I got a compliment from a colleague when I had put one spray under my shirt.

Man, Le Lion is just so gorgeous. I enjoyed watching your video.
Thank you Sally
@@TheScentinel I wish I had more to add but I think you summed it up perfectly!
The Coumarin, lemon/bergamot, vetiver and the sandalwood are great. The hype is real for this one.
It´s in my top 3! Especially the earlier versions (5001 and before) where the labdanum wasn’t yet toned down.
It's amazing! It's my favorite from Les Exclusifs. Smells great, and the performance is excellent 👌
It’s a true masterpiece. Seriously.
I agree
I did blind buy Coromandel on chanel site and they give me le lion sample and oh my god its so god. Its my next buy for sure i need it in my life 😁
❤
So Pep..how close to Shalimar is it..?
I have limited experience with Shalimar, but i never got reminded of it.
@@TheScentinel...👍

Can anyone compare this to Mitzah by Dior?
I don't think they are very close. Mitzah' to me is sweeter and i get more incense.
i initially loved it but it grew off me. Only decant worthy, not bottle worthy for me
Can't stand it personally
That is not good Mitch
I feel really bad for you that you can't enjoy the beauty of Le Lion
@@blagoyyanchev8083 it's a shame, I really wanted to and tried to but it just didn't happen unfortunately
@@RichMitch in the end it is what it is
I'm yet still to try it..need to try and get a sample as I'm really intrigued with it
Le Lion does remind me of a clean lion's mane! I adore this.
I'll have to trust you on that, I have never been close enough
