Fortunately it doesn't come off too powdery at the beginning on my skin. I really like this release. I'm so proud of Chanel for taking a risk outside of their comfort zone
Chanel for me is a house that just doesn't work with me , so I've been tentatively looking forward to this one . Look forward to hearing about it from you 🍀
Me too, I find the Chanel range smells too old school and generic. I think it’s the aldehydes. Very little imagination and execution compared to Dior and Tom Ford which are great designer/niche houses.
Chanel was my main introduction to perfume. My mom mostly wore No5. One of my high school graduation gifts was No19. I enjoy Beige. It works in all situations. I accidentally got Sycamore instead of Coromandel (lucky, the smaller bottle). Rushing in duty free error. I think on this rainy day, Sycamore may work for me. I recently bought Vanise, and I like it a lot, but when it’s warmer. In colder weather, it seems to bring out that vintage scent that I don’t love for myself. The skincare doesn’t suit my sensitive skin. It’s very scented.
I believe the little boxes are body cream and body oil. They gave it to me too because it's suppose to make the fragrance last longer. From the private collection, lately I'm into 1932 and Misia 😉 I definitely need to try Le lion. I think I would enjoy that one ! Thanks for your review 😊
I just bought Egoiste and Antaeus from them, I used to wear both in the 80s/90s and love them again - a quarantine treat for myself. I'm waiting to smell this because I love the Shalimar and Ambre Sultan references (folks on Fragrantica are calling out the AS similarities).
I bought this before watching the video, but I just got it delivered today. I'm wondering if I should go smell it somewhere before opening since I don't think I could return it once I've tested it. As a guy, I don't usually run to powdery fragrances but I'm not opposed to them if they have a really good scent that accompanies it. Appreciate your description!
I love channel fragances they work very good with my body chemistry!! My favorite fragances are beige, coco Mademoiselle, coco, channel number 5 and all his flankers ,allure ... And chance too ...
I love Chanel fragrances and skincare😁 I’m waiting for this new one to come out in our country. Try the skincare, it’s really nice. They gave you the good stuff, from the Sublimage line. I sampled the whole line now, and am planning changing my whole skincare routine to Sublimage.
It sounds like a good one!!! From Chanel I only know a couple of feminine: Chance and Cristalle, very differefnt but like them both. I'd love to try the number 18 though, because of your review! Hopefully we'll see your skin glow in the next videos with all that skin care 😁😁
Ooooh I can't wait to try this. Coromandel is my favourite fragrance, I love balsamic fragrances, and the patchouli in there is delicious. As soon as you compared this to Shalimar I got very interested. Shalimar is fantastic, and something that's definitely on my to buy list at some point. Now for powdery fragrances, I do enjoy some of them. I'm not super in love with the floral + powdery, I'm not one to say "grandma lipstick smell" but I don't need to own one. Iris-forward fragrances like all the Homme's out there are nice, but I like my Iris to be clean there (zegna Iris, Prada L'homme L'eau). For powdery florals, New Look 1947 is right up my alley and this is in large part to the benzoin/amber vibe it has. This is where Le Lion really intrigues me as from what you're saying it's powdery, without being floral, and very balsamic / vanillic. I dunno, sounds great! I'll check my store tomorrow but I doubt it's here yet. For skincare I just use face wash and exfoliate and moisturise once or twice a week. The improvements have been noticeable for sure, especially as I get older.
THIS EXCLUSIVE LINE by CHANEL IS LOVELY and I am very much looking forward to this release! Love coromandel it's my absolute dream hopefully one day I will get it and since I adore Coco Mademoiselle, Shalimar and most importantly POWDERY I hope I will like it..but it's pricy so I hope I won't fall in love with it..unless I am in trouble
True! It was launched in August exclusively to Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE. I heard from someone working in Chanel Qatar boutique that they always target the Middle East, especially with perfumes and fine jewellery they always get the first and exclusive launch.
Pour Monsignor......which I have worn since 1978.Skincare......La creme Duce, great moisturiser but,so so difficult to find. I also loved the Antaeus/ pour Monsignor shower gels which have sadly been discontinued.🖤🖤
I was a fan of #5 then it changed twice, the first change was in the late 80's early 90's. Second changed to be was in 2000, the last bottle i brought was in 2004, never again. What happened 😕 Question, correct me if I'm wrong which chanel changed or discontinued 🤔 19 or 22. One of them was soft, smell young and innocent, the 19 now smells different like it changed and 22 might be what I am thinking about. Help!
I love coromandel, I use chanel makeup and skincare. I am so pleased You mentioned chromandel because I wasnt sure if I should purchase it but after seeing your review I will purchase Le Lion thanks great review
I just bought a decant of Le Lion, and oh boy, I’m not sure about this. It’s so Smokey and powdery and it’s power doesn’t die down on me, it’s quite strong. I am a teacher and cannot wear this to work. I do like Chanel and wear many of their other fragrances.
Great video Sebastian these sound wonderful. I’m not sure if you’ve seen it but xerjoff just released a fragrance and proceeds for it go to cancer research. I blind bought it as I it means a lot to me. A great cause and a fresh new tea fragrance. Thought maybe you’d like it as well.
@@shezad2006 ish , it has the density and depth of original edt coromandel but heavy on the labdanum . It’s definitely in the same ball park to Shalimar
I am a Leo and my birthday is August 13 plus I was a fan a Chanel fragrances long before all the niche fragrances came to fruition. My take on Chanel without getting into detail is always safe for the masses, seldom something unusual and away from the maddening crowd, but usually always wearable and inoffensive to any one who has olfactory abilities intact. Ironically, today I caved in and preordered a 75ml bottle for $200 smackeroos figuring it will not be something I hate even if it is completely unlike my niche and indie fragrances that I really love.
My favorite Chanel fragrance is also in my top five favorites of all time. It is Coromandel EDT. I have not tried the EDP or the parfum. Which I plan on changing soon. Your review is making me want to buy Le Lion blind!
I love Chanel fragrances ❤❤❤ I love No 19 poudre , chance , chance eau fraiche , No 5 Leau , coco noir, coco mademoiselle, allure and from les exclusives I haven't smelled all of them only coromandel and I loved it . As you can tell I like pretty much all of their fragrances 😊
This fragrance 100% reminds me of tincture of bezoin we used to put on our cuts as kids mixed with some Johnson's baby powder. That being said, I am on the fence of liking/hating. Will wear a few times and see what happens.
Brother you don't need skin care. You're blessed with nice skin. Sometimes these products can cause more damage than they do any good. Stay blessed Sébastian! Happy New Year & a blessed 2021!
Hi ! FYI the first freebie bag you opened with the sample of Le Lion theres a beautiful Lion plaque in there :) I'll be sure to drop by my local parfumerie to sample Le Lion. My Chanel favorites Coco Mademoiselle, no° 19 and Sycomore.
I love Chanel, so many fragrances Coco Mad, Coco Noir, 19, Deauville, skincare too Hydra Beauty Micro Serum at night. Want to sample Le Lion. The House of Chanel is shining brightly as we open 2021.
Coromandel and Sycomore are my favorite Les Exclusifs, for men. Pour Monsieur EDT is my favorite from the regular line. And lastly, Bleu Parfum is my guilty pleasure.
Not a particularly favorite house but I don’t know how I ended up with quite a few: Antaeus, Pour Monsieur, Bleu Parfum Pour Homme(I avoided the EDT), Boy, Sycomore, Coromandel( been using it a lot lately), Cuir de Russie, Les Eaux/ Le Voyage and even Coco(which smelled masculine on me) and No. 5 (which just plain smelled good!). This is second only in number to my Dior fragrances so by default this may be my second favorite brand. And no, I don’t use any skin care products although like you said, maybe I should too so I’ll look better!😁 But if it smells a bit like Coromandel, maybe this one would be redundant for my collection.
Great overview, I have a soft spot for Chanel and their fragrances, I think I’ll like this as I love Coromandel. Just don’t try to sell Chanel products in bulk as online they are known to sue sellers..... 🤫
I'll stick with my tried and true no. 19. I did recently buy Coco Noir body lotion. It's ok but nothing to write home about. There are just so many other more interesting houses making fragrances these days... Zoologist, Hiram Green, Jorum Studio, etc.
I had Coco Noir a few years ago and I've really enjoyed it and I like Coco mademoiselle and Gabrielle, but since I've started buying niche fragrances I don't buy anymore the designer ones. Haven't tried though the esclusifs, but in general Chanel fragrances are too powdery for my liking.
This smells similar to Dior’s Cuir Cannage for me. However Dior’s is a more superior fragrance, same for Dior Vetiver over Sycamore. Also the prices are much closer in London. Dior 250ml is £290 and Chanel 200ml is £280.
My favourite perfumes from Chanel are: Coromandel, 35 rue Carbon, Boy, Coco mademoiselle (especially in pure perfume), Paris Deauville, all versions of 5, Bois Des ilhes, 1957, Beige, Coco. I also have Jersey, Allure sensuelle, Chance eau tendre but I am not as in love with them...
My SA sent me a sample since I asked to be on the VIP list. I don’t want to offend anyone, but this was not a chanel fragrance to me. I was surprised at how the smell never had a dry down that changed the scent.... it reminds me of incenses.... my husband said it smells like hospice.... 😩
Compare to Bvlgari and Versace’s private line, the price and the quality are reallly good. My favorite from the line is Boy, one of my favorite fougère!
