Great timing for this video! I just got a sketchbook pro and was wondering about options for using it. And in general I love seeing how people customize their workspace for devices like this.

I gave my son a 16” XPPen (which he doesn’t use) but that works great with that elphant type stand. The other type is good too but I’d be concerned with heat. When I actually used it with a Lenovo Yoga (with a pen of course), I used shelf material to keep it in place and give some separation for heat. If you look at that part of the video, you can see that is the material I used for the desk. I got it off Amazon, it’s real cheap.

When I used to draw on my iPad, I bought an actual drafting table (dark oak) and velcro'd the heck out of my iPad case & shortcut keyboard, so it was all nearly vertical when I worked.
Not as portable as your solution, though, and the drafting table isn't cheap either.
Now that I use a Huion pen display, I just velcro'd it to a metal legal-sized clipboard from which I tore off the clip part and painted black. That gives me enough space to also velcro on the shortcut keyboard. All of this is then stuffed onto a foldable tablet stand that places it near vertical in front of me, but easier to set aside than using a monitor arm.
Your video is great. Don't think I would've thought about doing it your way otherwise.
Wish more people made videos about the practical things when it comes to doing art. But until they do, I'll be watching your channel.

I’m in a small place in this room so I’m always trying something. The white table I do unboxing on is actually a proper 24x36 drafting table. I built it out of and old desk. I have my monitor arms all to the left side of it. The problem I’m having is I work full time from home in cyber security so I have an entire laptop setup for work built under that art table. I might need to sacrifice this desk and redo the workspace. It’s way too much effort to set up lights and cams when I stream. The problem is, I’m like emotionally attached to it. Thanks for dropping by!

Thanks Dennis. I finally built a new PC and invested in Davinci Resolve but there is a learning curve to it. Once I get everything switched over, hopefully I’ll get more content out.

I like the Bamboo version of this sketchboard style of device holder moreso than the black plastic one. Either way, anything that can allow one to have more screen real estate access on a TINY screen like the iPad's 12.9 version is a good thing!! Thanks for sharing!

Oh I like that one too. I might have to pick one up. I was trying to see if you can unscrew the legs. If you can do that it would work with my builds. I am not really able to lean forward much do to neck problems. I can't really have a setup where the bottom of a stand/board has to sit on the desk itself. Even my Cintiq gets pulled over the desk and rests on the chair arms. So basically all of my builds are ergo friendly. Thanks for the link!

@@CreateNowSleepLater We are on the same page with the neck thing. For me, my old Hamilton drawing table from the 60's can be tilted so that I can basically use anything flat and simply tilt the desk to the proper angle. The downside is that means the entire desk must be always free of clutter or then tilting the top results in.....yeah.....you get the picture.....a friggn mess. I bet you could remove the legs on that bamboo board and make it work for you as you described. Would love to see you do that and show it on your channel here!!!
